A War Charge! Let's Use A Slow Song!!! "Fear me!?" questioned the warrior, now obviously favoring his left hip to the point of being able to barely encircle with his opponent. "No, Yan Xing! Fear my reason! Fear my passion! Fear my shield-arm!"Wei Yan had meant to charge Yan Xing, that was his first and fullest intent until he saw another sight. Ma Chao was racing, on horseback, to save his friend. His famed Dragon Cavalry only a few yards behind him. It was a sight that sent two feelings rushing through the warrior. The first was a rage that the Heaven's themselves forbid. It was a rage they wanted to control. It was a rage that they failed to keep locked away. The second was a second-guessing. For a moment, again the warrior found himself comparing Ma Chao and himself. With a roar the thought was gone and there was only the rage. Rushing forward, the Beast of Chang An seemed to have forgotten of the pain in his hip and was just charging. Through Yan Xing he'd run and that's exactly what happend. The valiant defender of Ma Chao stood his ground, preparing for the worst, but he dare not defy his own morals. Bracing for impact Xing took spear head in the thigh and an elbow to the collar that could make mountains bleed. His right thigh exploded with blood and pain as his collar collapsed under the might of the Beast. Neither were mortal wounds, but if that thigh was left untreated he'd bleed out within only a few minutes. No doubt he'd be seen to though. The Beast kepting charging though. Time slowed around the two clashing warriors as the roar finally echod to the position of all the allied officals, even those of the newly arriving Shu heard it clear as day. No doubt everyone knew what had just happened, or what was about to happen. The Horse Lord only charged harder as his friend took the wound, but Wei Yan was fully running, spear in hand. When the two got within range, Ma Chao prepared for the spear stab that most generals would cower before while Wei Yan anticipated it instinctively. The warrior had never seen Ma Chao fight, so he had no real knowledge of the warrior, but his instincts screamed for his next move and so he followed. Pressing off with his right foot, the beast was airborne. His spear struck out, not at the Horse Lord but at the horse he rode. It bit into the flesh of the neck of the horse like a hot knife through butter. In that instant the horse died. The Horse Lord was propelled forward into the oncoming shoulder of Wei Yan. Both men collided, Ma Chao going nearly straight down while Wei Yan continued on for a bit and landed in an awkward, painful roll. Popping up he snarled and spun around quickly, his spear dripping with horse blood. The Beast waited for his opponent to rise. ~~~~~~~~~
Back amongst the lines of the Guardians it was no secret that they were outnumbered but not outmatched. Enemies were on one front, one unified front and arrows began to sail towards the line. A shield wall appeared out of thin air almost and it seemed arrows shrieked into metal more than flesh, but it was then that the unknown Guardian saw and heard the charging Dragon Elite Cavalry. Nodding he turned his own shield and gave out the command. "Elites! On me! We will test these Dragons! The rest of you! Defend against those bows! Make light work of all those around you! We will win! Glory!?" shouted the Guardian, his shield clanging agianst spear as he prepared. The rest of the men gave the reply, "We are not broken!"A layered wall was made against the Elite Cavalry. No matter where they broke into the lines, they'd have a spear to meet head on and a shield to block all hope of victory. Again the heaven's shuttered. Again they mourned over their lost avatar, Wei Yan. It was a terrifying, sad day.

Enemy reinforcements: enough to cause serious complications for the enemies of the Qiang, particularly if conflicts between the Coalition and the Horde still ran deeply. Of course, not being alongside the others fighting the Qiang, Jiang Wei was left with speculations. With luck, enough of them would see reason and focus on confronting the true opponents.
Speaking of opponents, it was hard to miss the detachment of men that deviated from the main body of reinforcements and began heading his way. It was also hard to miss the sound of one of the coalition bellowing challenges at the oncoming reinforcements. Jiang Wei idly wondered if the barbarian would continue on his present course or go meet the new challenger. To him it mattered little: if presented with the fight he would fight, if not, he would strike at them anyway.
“Form up and prepare to engage the Qiang reinforcements.”
Tactics. The enemy archers would probably be able to fire on them first, but the crossbows would have a greater impact when the armies had drawn closer. In melee, the spears would be pressed to keep the enemy at bay, but so long as they maintained their distance and used their shields, they could provide the time the crossbows would need to reload and fire.
Said crossbows loaded and then hustled to catch up to the advancing spears that Jiang Wei rode at the head of. The advantage of being able to load ones weapon and move would be valuable, and the punch of the bolts would work in conjunction with the veteran nature of the army at his command to devastate the brash and uncouth… not that Jiang Wei intended to completely write off his opponent. He simply knew his army better, and since both he and the potential opponent he was moving to face had know knowledge of their enemy, it was the best he could do.
”Lord Jiang Wei, Master Guan Yu has arrived!”
Smiling, Jiang Wei held up his hand and spurred his unit on. The spears raised their shields to ward off the incoming arrows and the crossbows lingered behind for a few beats; considering that the enemy had chosen to fire at them at the earliest possible time, the chances were that they had not gauged their optimal distance. Of course, until the crossbows of Shu were able to fire or the cavalry reached them, the enemy would have potentially several salvos that would go unanswered.
Tactics. Guan Yu had men on horseback that would be ideal for riding down the archers and his horsebow troops could fire upon their advancing formations while the melee soldiers were still rushing towards each other. Their melee troops would then keep the enemy at bay in an expanded variant of the latter part of his previous tactical musings, thus allowing crossbows etc. etc.
Steeling himself, Jiang Wei wove his spear though the air, a hasty preparation for the oncoming melee. A part of him was interested to see how well his training would carry him, but said part was not able to raise its voice higher then that of a whisper in his mind. Victory for Shu here was what mattered, the preservation of the people of Chang An was what mattered.
Besides, with great warriors such as Guan Yu on the battlefield, he could defer to them and focus on putting his tactics and troops to the best use possible.
The enemy came into range, and the crossbows of his unit began opening fire in a retort to the Qiang that had drawn first blood.

(Modified at Dark's Request)
Jiang Wei has advanced on the Qiang detatchment being sent after Shu and is firing his crossbows at them.

Ma Chao raced across the open terrain moving to aid his ally Yan Xing who was in a heated duel with Wei Yan. The berserker had slowly become Chao's nemesis, overtaking Cao Cao as his number one foe. It would all end today though as one of the two would perish at Chang An! Looking ahead, the Horde leader could see his men being bested by Glory's Guardians and Yan Xing was in a bad way. Wei Yan had charged him and Chao's second laid upon the ground wounded, in need of assistance. Nothing would stop Mengqi from getting to his friend, not even Wei Yan's cowardly attack against his steed. The leader was flying through the air, spear in hand, as he was sent from his horse. He hit the ground and immediately rolled out from it. Jumping to his feet quickly, he dashed forward towards Xing who was about to be surrounded by enemy Guardians. "Yan Xing!"No words could express how dead Wei Yan's men would be if they killed Yan Xing, but they would not even get the chance. Ma Chao was blazing across the grass with his spear set slightly behind, moving in toward the first guardian who was preparing to strike his comrade. The spear thrust came, from the Guardian, but it was deflected by Yan Xing himself who still had the strength to defend from the ground. A set of armored boots ripped into the enemy attacker's side, sending him reeling with broken ribs away from Xing as Ma Chao catapulted into the air, using his spear, and drop kicked him. He landed and parried another attack, knocking away a Guardian spear and then thrusting his own towards the vulnerable legs of his foe, away from his shield. The spear pierced the enemy and he fell to the ground in pain, feeling what Yan Xing was going through. However, it seemed Chao's comrade had been injured near his neck as well. The Dragon elites had arrived and they crushed into any soldiers surrounding their lord. They knew what had to be done and quickly 10 men dismounted to move for Yan Xing. Meanwhile, Wei Yan was either cutting Horde soldiers down or moving to take on Ma Chao. He would have to wait in line though as Mengqi was dispatching his men like they were ruffians. Now, the Horde leader was at his peak of fighting prowess and the butt of his spear, smashing across a Guardian's face, was the trigger for an explosion of rage. "Wei Yan!" he cried, twirling his spear around before sending it down through the enemy's chest. He pulled the weapon from the corpse and turned to see his most hated rival. The spear in his hand was gripped so tight that the metal started to bend and blood was spattered all over his armor. Ahead was his precious steed and the beast was dead, slain by another animal. However, it was time for the hunter to become the hunted. Ma Chao looked to his left and could see the elites retrieving Yan Xing. They would take him back toward the river and Han Sui who was with the remaining Horde main force. "It is time!"The leader pointed his spear at Wei Yan right before dashing forward. He moved in and began to spin, picking up momentum, before unleashing a powerful attack after doing a full turn. The spear blasted off of Wei Yan's shield, sending shocks through the warriors body and especially his left arm. A counter jab came from Yan, following Chao's attack, but it was dodged as the latter slipped to the right. Ma Chao kicked forward and caught the shield again, but sent his foe backwards a few yards. He immediately charged and attacked to his left, forcing Wei Yan's spear to deflect. Then, he followed up with a quick strike using th butt of his weapon which Yan also blocked but with his shield. A counter from Yan was sure to follow and Mengqi expected it, so he ducked low as it came and swept Yan's legs from under him. The Glory lord would look up to see a gleaming spear head coming down at him, but he raised his shield and blocked the attack. The spear pierced the ground and Yan used the opportunity to stab upward with his weapon. It forced Ma Chao backwards, away from his famed spear but it put him closer to his fallen horse. SHINGMengqi unsheathed his broad sword from his horse's side and whipped it around, cutting through the air creating a frightening slashing sound. He immediately charged Wei Yan who was picking up his spear to throw it at him. His own weapon came hurling back at him, but with incredible timing he slashed across and sent it to the ground. Wei Yan was surprised for a moment that the attack which had killed many other opponents was deflected by Ma Chao, but he had no time to reflect for a blade was coming at him. The two fought another 50 bouts before almost all of the Horde infantry was dispatched. At that time, the Elites made haste to their lord's side informing him of the situation. "We must fall back, my lord!" an elite yelled, hoping to snap Ma Chao out of his duel to the death. Mengqi slashed back and forth, receiving blocks in return and it was if he was not even listening to his soldier. So, the elite rushed forward and his steed and came between the two of them. It could have got the elite killed, by Ma Chao himself, for interfering but it was for the best. Whether or not Wei Yan killed the intervening elite was not known, but Ma Chao grabbed his spear and moved back toward the river. The Dragon elites moved in and held off Wei Yan with his Guardians until the rest could fall back. Many of them would fall, being outnumbered and against spears but they were die hard fighters. They would not go down without taking enemies with them, but their mission was not to fight to the last man. Han Sui's horn blew and the sound traveled to where the elites were fighting Glory. Immediately the remaining cavalry turned and raced toward the river. They would be out much faster than any other unit which would leave Glory soldiers all by themselves amongst a pile of bodies. That, was the plan. "Now!" Around 600 arrows turned the sky in their area black as they moved across the sky in unison. It was like a flock of geese, only metal, and coming to kill you. The Guardians would most likely raise their shields, but not everyone would be spared. Not only that, the elite horsebows were waiting for the infantry volley to finish before they opened up, trying to catch Yan's men lowering their shields. Yan Xing has been seriously wounded by Wei Yan! Wei Yan and Ma Chao cross blades! The Golden Horde falls back to the river!****Note: I will add in the rest tonight, this part took me awhile. Coming up will be Biggy versus Zhou Tai, the Horde moving to the walls with ladders, Zhang Ren versus the Qiang, Huang Zhong getting arrows up his ass, and Shu versus Qiang***

Sun turns on his horse, his men watching the forest. The other generals have begun battling with the horde, and finally Shu has come to show its support, too little too late? We'll see. Sun looks to the city of Chang An. It's a shame it has to be this way, this city never deserved this. But it must be taken back. For the good of all the land it must be taken. Since no others have begun, Sun raises his sword,
"Get the siege engines rolling, the forest will burn to the ground, we will destroy these walls brick by brick until we can walk right on in and destroy all the Qiang scum that inhabit this place."
The siege engines begin moving, the tower slightly behind the rest. And move behind Huang Zhong's unit.
"Huang Zhong, join me in the retaking of this city! For our lord and our country!"
The catapults and trebuchets stop in range and prepare to fire at the wall. Sun's sword and shield units stand in front of the machines to block any attacks and Sun awaits to give the order. He looks at the walls of the once proud city, seeing babarians inhabit the walls sent a cold chill down Sun's spine, this city could quickly become Jin Yang, or Ye. Tyrant barbarians killing and enslaving the people. It will not happen, not like this, not while there was someone to fight it.
"Fire!"
The catapults and trebuchets fire at the walls and begin reloading.
"Zhong, let us find companions brave enough to charge with us and destroy this menace to our lands!"
*Summary* - Sun's archers and Axe men still wait for any signs of Qiang men running from the forest - Sun has mobilized the siege engines since no one else has (that I know of) - Sun has given an invitation to Huang Zhong to join him in retaking the city - The tower awaits to move into battle. - The siege weapons begin firing on the walls.

*And so it was, the Fury of Ma Chao had been satiated. Not satiated, but quelled all thanks to a colossal betrayal. For where did Ma Chao's strength lie if it was not in his alliances with the northern armies? Ma Chao rode atop fine horses, and each one of his soldiers was as adapt as Sun Yuan Ci himself atop a steed, perhaps even surpassing the T'se Lord in horseback. But this was all for naught, for Sun Yuan Ci had battled Yan Xing briefly, with his Crescented Spearwall proving to be a sturdy advancing defense, preventing the valiant Yan Xing to approach the walls of Qing Ni, even though Mengqi himself had made his way around the allied forces and approached Cao Cao. The point where the Qiang betrayed Ma Chao was possibly the greatest shift in power the land had seen... ever.*
*It was as sudden and as effective as an assassin's thrust into the back. A moment's time to comprehend the action, then a death. A death not of a man, but of an ambition. With the Qiang's betrayal, they had destroyed Ma Chao. Though his might would prevail to live on and his remaining riders fly banners of gold, the military prowess that would usher in a tyrannic era upon China was now undone, loosely bound by a barbaric king who now set foot in Chang An. Though Sun Yuan Ci had not shone in this battle as the starlight of his cousin had displayed it's white glow upon the battlefield, it was not without hope. His defenses of Qing Ni pass made it so that even a failed attack on Chang An would allow a third battle to be taken to Qing Ni, where the Qiang would not hope to pass with a single man.*
*But the story of the battle was Sun Liao. A man who stood alone and fell hundreds. His blades stained crimson, inches thick with the heavy flow of blood down to the hilt, dripping off to the ground. Sun Zhiyun was known widely as the greatest warrior in the land, as a soldier without equal. Here, at the fields of Chang An, Sun Liao was boasting his own equality to that of his cousin's. And how just it was for these two to be bound by blood, bound by skill, and bound by values. It was clear who the men to reshape the land were at this time. Sun Yuan Ci and Sun Liao were two of those men. Any who doubted them would either be shunned by the people, or defeated by the Sun Cousins themselves.*
*Zhiyun fell back to the gate briefly, retrieving his horse before coming back to his men who prepared to besiege the walls. They rode up behind the banners of T'se, behind Sun Liao, and followed him in the attack. His men formed up and waited for the city to crack, while his archers ran forth to begin raining arrows down upon the city, flying over the walls and up to the ramparts, beyond and even down into the city itself, falling upon defending soldiers of the barbarian king. Zhiyun rode slowly to Sun Liao, overlooking the catapults as they fired over his head.*
"Cousin, my dearest cousin. Words cannot express the pride I have to share this battle with you. Today, Sun Liao has shown his valor and might on the battlefield to accompany his justice and wit in the courts. My cousin, you and I shall unite this land one day. Any doubt I ever had has been put down by your feats today. But alas..."
*Zhiyun paused momentarily as he heard calls of reinforcements to the allied flanks. Zhang Fei and Guan Yu, men who could possibly be viewed as heroic symbols, had arrived.*
"Something wretched this way comes... fret not upon the delay of the scum of Shu, for their pretense of an utter care of the people of the land shall be dealt with soon. Oh, gods, how shall we share a battlefield with men like Zhang Fei and soldiers who serve Xuande, and possibly call it a just battle? What does Xuande do, sending people to aid both the enemy of the people and the allies of the peace? There will be a day when this 'lord' falls, and that shall be a day when peace is nearer. Worry not of Shu, whether they wish to help or not, Chang An shall be ours, and the vile Qiang shall be driven from our country, to return all but nevermore!"

Qiang vs. ShuThe Qiang units, sent to meet Shu head on, prepared another volley to let rip into Jiang Wei's lines. The Shu strategist, acting as the current Zhuge Liang of the kingdom, had ordered his men to form up with Guan Yu after unleashing a crossbow attack. Together, with Zhang Fei, their army was far superior than that of the Qiang detachment. Still, if they did not press the attack Shu would continuously lose troops for nothing as a new set of arrows were on their way towards them. At least Wei was able to take down a large amount of the enemy front with his opening assault. "Stand strong, men!" a captain yelled, letting his troops know that it was an important moment in the battle. If the Qiang could turn Shu away, from aiding the attack on Chang An, then they would have no problem wiping out the the allied assault. "Twin swords! Charge!" From behind the archers, Militia twin swords raced forward. They let out a battlecry and a moment later their comrades were following right behind. Both units totaled 500 strong and were comprised of 200 twin swords with 300 halberds, both of the militia type. The group of halbers split though, creating two wings of 150 around their brethren. They charged for right for Jiang Wei's crossbows who would most likely fall back behind his infantry. Either way, there was going to be carnage! ************************* Qiang King vs. Huang Zhong, Sun Liao, and Sun Yuan CiFrom atop the walls, the king could see the battle between Glory and the Golden Horde below. It made him smile seeing both of his enemies killing each other and also took much pleasure in ordering his men to send arrows down into both armies. He looked straight ahead, when a Qiang soldiers pointed, and there before him was the elder Huang Zhong. The king was unaware of Zhong's unmatched skills with a bow, but he was well aware that the T'se veteran had killed Tiny. "There, that is the old fool that killed Tiny! Fill him full of arrows!" the king yelled. He wanted Zhong dead for slaying his big behemoth and also for attempting to challenge him. Hell, he would cut that old bastard down within 5 bouts! Arrows were launched from the walls, around 100 or so, and they rained down on Zhong's soldiers. If the veteran was not quick enough he could possibly be hit, but it seemed he had moved ahead just in time to meet Sun Liao who was approaching with all the siege equipment. Huang Zhong's ally had arrived and was taking charge as if he was the coalition leader! The Qiang King's smirk was quickly gone when he saw the siege equipment moving forward. That was his ladder and trebuchet! Oh, someone was going to die! "Bastards took my siege equipment!" Just as the king shook his fist, cursing the allies out loud, a boulder raced toward his position and clipped a soldier nearby. The Qiang archer was annihilated on impact and sent into the city as a nice gift for his comrades from T'se. The king got back to his feet, because he had ducked, and ordered another volley but this time against Sun Yuan Ci who had also arrived. Another 100 arrows were prepared and let go against SYC who ordered a volley of his own. The T'se leader would be the loser of the exchange, seeing as how the Qiang had the height advantage. Still, the allied arrows soared through the air and took out some men along the wall as well as some inside the city! A few more boulders crushed against the city wall and more than likely the siege tower was on the way as well. The third and final 100 arrows rained down toward Sun Lian and his siege operators, though some of the men along the wall were killed so it was not exaclty that many missiles. "Damn, this is going to be more difficult than i thought....." the Qiang leader thought to himself, hiding behind an outcrop of stone along the ramparts to avoid being taken out. ************************* Qiang Ambushers getting PwnedZhang Ren and his unit had stumbled across the Qiang group that had ambushed Sun Liao's soldiers who were trying to gather wood. It seemed their attack had gone against them and now both armies ambushed one another by accident. Unfortnately, for the Qiang, they were outnumbered 2 to 1 and Ren was known to be a menace on the field of battle as well as his comrade Liu Pi. God knows what crazed acts the men were attempting, but they landed themselves right in the middle of a slaugther festival. Arrows were flying through the air with deadly intent, but the thick trees were absorbing most of the attacks and horse movement was limited. This gave Zhang Ren and company a major advantage which they seemed to capitalize on. "Flee, fall back through the flames if we have to!" The captain of the group could not take it any more so he turned his steed to exit the burning forest. Little did he know that Sun Liao had stationed soldiers there just in case that would happen. The remaining soldiers, under the captain's command, followed if they could and jumped through the fire into the open field! Around 70 or so remained, possibly less, but they were right in the middle of the allied area of control. Still, if they could they loaded their bows and opened fire on random enemies! ************************* Biggy vs. Zhou TaiThe horse raced forward as Tai's twin weapons flailed around in his hands. His opponent did not have the same type of weapons though and instead Biggy had double chained maces! The little man rocketed from the saddle of his steed as if just drinking a Red Bull and he came flying down about 20 yards from Tai before landing. "Hmph!" he exclaimed, not even slightly phased that for him that was like an 80 foot leap. "So, you are Zhou Tai?" Biggy raised his right eyebrow, like as in: "I thougt you were bigger..." The Qiang officer was used to be around real men like Tiny and the Champion, not peon pirates. He whipped his twin maces around and hit the ground while doing so. "Hiya!" he yelled, with the last swing which sent dirt flying everywhere. He was really short, so the chains were too long for him to fully extend. However, he had a good center of gravity and could pull a special move if need be. For now though, Biggy would do what he did best. Rock the socks off of bitches. He pointed at Zhou Tai before closing the helmet of his mini armor. It was like a tank was before the Wu leader, ready to mow him down. However, it was all just a trick. For a moment, Tai waited for an attack to come from the armored Biggy but it did not! Pwn Master FLASH... the name said it all. He was the master of pwning people, but what exactly did the flash mean? Oh, it meant he was super fast! Before Tai even knew it, his ankles were under attack! He would look down to see Biggy chewing away as if there was some Tobasco on there! The Qiang had used his armor to throw off his foe and just when Tai blinked he used his speed to move out. "Ha ha!" Biggy had him now and his twin chain maces were somewhat wrapped around Tai's legs!

If You're Ready For Battle, I'm Ready For War!! "Guardians! After them! Not one Golden Disgrace leaves this field alive!" roared Wei Yan as he pulled his spear from the fallen horse's neck. In a matter of moments the remaining Guardians sprinted off towards the retreating Golden Horde. A few of the Guardians had watched the match between Ma Chao and Wei Yan... Those few were skeptical of these vendetta by now. One of those few was the unknown Guardian who'd named himself second-in-command by now. Still though, the Guardians charged on, their hearts not fully behind the rushing berserker that was Wei Yan. Though, a smiled creeped over the Unknown Guardian's face as he caught sight of what some of the men of the Golden Horde were carrying: ladders. After a few minutes of running, the Beast of Chang An realized he was not going to make it to Ma Chao in time. That lordling would be on the walls before the Beast ever even got close. So, he solved the problem. "Lordling! Come! Do Battle with me! Here! On this red stained shore!" commanded the Beast as he planted his spear into the ground and drew Rai's sword and shield. The Guardians stopped but the Beast didn't give an order. Instead the unknown Guardian commanded them. "On me! We continue for the Horde!" boomed the warrior and they struck out to keep chase. Though, once out of Wei Yan's range the unknown Guardian relayed the message that no Horde were to be hurt, instead the Guardians were to aid them in crushing the Qiang? This Guardian was mad, but the rest of the Guardians followed. It was the right thing to do. There was no reason to make the people of Chang An suffer over a vendetta. They were thinking clear enough to know that. So they moved at a slow pace, and when they came within range of the Golden Horde straggling ladder carriers, gave signs of a ceasefire and made to assist with carrying the ladders. If Wei Yan would have just looked to his left, not a single Guardian would have seen the light of day again, but instead he stared down the now approaching Ma Chao. The Final Showdown was upon the two great warriors, and The Beast of Chang An was too the point where he could barely stand on his left leg... ~~~~~~~~~ "Very well, Wei Yan. Now, we truly end this." stated the Horselord coldly as the Beast forced himself to stand straight up and accept the challenge. Both warriors just stared at each other for a long time, before finally Wei Yan made the first move, and the duel was on. Tossing his shortsword up a bit he caught the hilt with his sword-arm and grabbed his spear with the other. Taking a few steps forward he sent the spear sailing towards his enemy, his nemsis, his almost identical twin. The spear floated for a moment in time and the Horselord just watched in his own sense of awe. The land between them had roughly been 100 yards, and the Beast of Chang An had cleared it with his spear with great ease. Though, that distance was more then enough for the Horselord to react. Sprinting forward he ducked under the spear and kept running. The Beast just snarled and took off as well. The two clashed hard, spear hit shield, shield hit spear. There was a crackle between the two as sparks flew from the metal. For a moment they just stared at each other, weapons locked. Then both men jumped back and prepared to fight again. Wei Yan switched his shortsword back to his main hand and the two were off again. For what seemed like forever, but truly was only 30 bouts, the warriors clashed back and forth. The whole time, it looked like neither had a lead, until Ma Chao went to catcth the warrior off guard. Bringing the haft of his spear around he drilled the injured hip of Wei Yan and the Beast went to one knee. What seemed like a dirty hit, truly wasn't, for the shock of the fall made even Ma Chao stop for a moment and wonder what'd he'd done. The injury was known, just not aimed for. In that split second, that small gap of time where Ma Chao stopped in shock, the Beast went on the attack. Shoving up with his right leg, he slashed at the Horselord's main hand. The horselord was caught off guard, but he was a good warrior and made to recover. The blade cut flesh, this was true, but it was only enough to smear a bit of blood, not dismember the hand. The spear of the Horselord fell, mainly from the surprise. The Beast stuttered for a second though, he'd landed with too much weight on his left leg. So the Horselord recovered his spear and made to stab the Beast in the chest. This was the end game.... Wei Yan roared, he snarled, he gasped, and his instincts took over. The spear came in quick, but not fast enough. The Beast spun, his sword shoving the spear out wide while his shield came full circle and slammed into the face and chest of Ma Chao. With that, horselord was sent sailing back a few yards to the ground. He dropped his spear and it fell a few yards away from him. The Beast of Chang An just limped over and stared down at the Horselord for a moment, his shortsword pointed at his chest. The moment continued and continued and The Beast of Chang An just stared at the Horselord. Finally, he sighed and his sword fell back to his side. "...What have I done?" asked the warrior in a rhetorical whisper. A snarl escaped his lips and again the blade was pointed at Ma Chao, and again it fell. "...You... I should kill you! Lu Rai... He's... But... This will not ease the hurt... I've only brought more hurt..." stated the warrior again, sighing a bit, tears now streaming down his cheeks as he glared down at the fallen Horselord. "...Yan Xing... Heavens... I'm so sorry... Ma Chao... I've been wracked with a painful revenge to the point I didn't see straight. Rai would have never done this... Never..." admitted the warrior as steam rolled from the streaks of tears. By now the warrior was trembling and he could barely hold his sword. "Roar, Yan. Roar for all of Chang An to hear..."The voice echoed and Wei Yan's ears perked up sharply, and agian he snarled down at the Horselord. The voice of Rai had spurred the hate, but it was quickly quelled. "I will make up for this... this... horrid mistake." whispered the warrior before walking over and taking up the Horselord's spear. With a sigh and a shake of the head he handed it to Ma Chao. "Allow me to ease your own pain... Let us crush this Dishonorable Barbarian."It was then the Beast noticed the cut upon Ma Chao's arm. WIth a sigh he looked over the bleeding and simply took the Headband from his bicep, Lu Rai's headband, and offered it to the Horselord. "Wrap that up. You're no good to me without your spear."With that, the warrior was back to his normal self, his pain had been eased as much as anyone could expect and he was on the war path for the Qiang! As he marched he let out a roar for the voice. It echoed into the halls Chang An in hopes that the people would know he'd finally returned. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Guardians of Glory have made their way to aid the Golden Horde in their ascent of the wall!
Wei Yan and Ma Chao have dueled for the last time....
Wei Yan has offered a personal alliance to the Horselord before marching off to the City of Chang An.

Guan's men were not too far from behidn Jiang Wei's men. They traveled at a casual pace, keeping their energy until it was needed... and then the time came. There was a man that rode up to Guan and it was his Little Brother, Zhang Fei. Guan nodded to his brother yelled to his men, rousing them, letting them know that the time has come...
"NOW MEN! As we planned! Cover Jiang Wei's crossbowmen!!"
Guan spoke as his calvary charged. His front line of spear and shield calvary rode in front of Jiang's units, just in time to clash with some of the Qiang soldiers. Just then Guan noted the Qiang Archers.
"Truly barbarous.. MEN! Shields UP!"
The unengaged spear and shieldmen stood in front of the crossbowmen and lifted the shields to a defensive manner to keep casualties at a minimum. As Guan awaited his crossbowmen finally caught up and formed up with Jiang Wei's crossbowmen. Guan nodded to Jiang Wei and awaited the final charge/assault from the man with the strength of 10,000.
"Ranged units! Prepare your volleys! Fire along with Jiang Wei to unleash hell upon these men!"
-Guan has ordered his calvary elites to rip into the Qiang infantry. -A few of Guan's infantry has positioned themselves in a defensive manner in front of the crossbow units guarding against a few bows -Guan's ranged units prepare to fire into the Qiang troops. They will not fire until ordered again or until Jiang's crossbowmen fire

Maybe A Little Too Angry...
Slashing the leg of a horse, and then severing the head of the man upon it as it fell, Ren realized that the Qiang troops were fleeing. He knocked an arrow quickly, and hit the possible captain of the enemy raiders dead in the middle of his back. HE fell to the forest floor with a loud crack of branches.
He stopped his men from chasing the fleeing troops, and told them to rest up for a few moments before continuing on. He walked up to Liu Pi. The other was just putting his sword up, when one of Ren's men cried out.
"FIRE! THE BLOODY FOREST IS ON FIRE!" Zhang and Pi both turned their heads at the same time, and saw the red glow of the fire.
"Let's move boys. We can't go back so let's go forward." Zhang yelled his order out, and his men followed him. They began to race through the woods, not only to surprise the Horde, but to keep away from the fire.
In short time, managing to out run the fire, which was going through a slightly damp forest, they emerged from the tree's and behind the Horde lines. The men ran to rear of the enemy. They didn't say a word, knowing that silence was best in a situation like this.
They got several dozen feet behind them when Ren noticed Glory banners mixed with Horde banners. The only problem was they weren't fighting each other, but side by side.
"Kill them all. Glory or Golden Horde, they fight together, so we fight them." Ren yelled out his order, and his men raced forward. Liu Pi came up to him right away.
"Why would you order us to assault Wei Yan? He fought alongside us against Dong Zhou, and he is leading this defence," Liu Pi looked slightly stunned as he talked to Ren. " Come now Ren. We are allies with him in thi-" But his words were cut short as Ren bellowed over him.
"If they fight with the Horde they fight against us. I will not work alongside the tyrant Ma Chao." Zhang looked very angry, and Liu Pi nodded his head. He understood Ren's anger, but he doubted whether the story was true lately. Ever since the banquet, Pi had heard something about the village being the result of angered officers under Ma Teng. Pi had never bothered to bring the topic up with Ren until he had solid proof, for Ren would have ignored it.
His thoughts stopped as he watched Ren charge into the battle, heading directly for the Horde side of the allies. Liu Pi himself marched straight into the Glory side of the battle.
Ren struggled through his own men, trying to reach the front line. He began to cry out challenges to Ma Chao. "Ma Chao, Coward of Xi Liang, FIGHT ME!" Ren reached the front line and began to mix it up. He fought blindly, seeking to destroy as many men as he could.
On the otherside, Liu PI himself didn't fight quite so hard, not as sure of the reasoning behind the attack upon the Glory troops. He did however owe much to Zhang Ren, and was willing to allow his morals to be brushed aside. And much like Zhang Ren fighting the Horde, Liu Pi sought out Wei Yan, not quite as fiercely as Ren did Chao though...
Summary
-Ren and his men let the Qiang men flee. -They flee the burning forest and emerge behind the Horde and Glory line. -Ren declares war upon the Kingdom of Glory, and his men engage the combined armies of Ma Chao and Wei Yan. -Zhang Ren calls out to Ma Chao, hopping the man would accept his challenge, -Liu Pi searches for Wei Yan.
Troops
190 Sword and Shield Elites(95 engaging Ma Chao, 95 engaging Wei Yan) 160 Veteran Sword and Shield (80 against Ma Chao, and 80 against Wei Yan.

"Hyah! Leave none alive!",Zhang Fei commanded as he tore an archer's throat out with the Serpent Spear.
Yide's unit had essentially rushed headlong into The Qiang Archers that rained arrows upon Jiang Wei.Zhang Fei's Unit would slay any Qiang Soldiers that they came upon including the archers they were now attacking.
Zhang Fei himself was slaying enemy soldiers from horseback alongside his son,Zhang Baol. The two made a formidable team and were devastating against mere archers.
Zhang Fei rushes the Qiang Archers that were unleashing arrows upon Jiang Wei! Zhang Fei and Zhang Bao are personally engaging the Qiang Soldiers, making a deadly father-son team!

The advance of Zhang Fei and his men sent his pulse pounding, and Jiang Wei allowed himself a small smile as he returned his focus to the advancing lines. The enemy had split, a tactic he had been prepared to use himself, but it would be to no avail. Guan Yu had firmly superimposed his troops between the Qiang and the crossbows of Shu, which used the time to reload. For them, it was a slower process then that of the archers they were facing, but these men were seasoned veterans who had trained vigorously; they would be as expedient as one could expect, and the Qiang would pay for their inability to halt them.
“On my command, archers!”
To have the forces of Guan Yu compliment his was both a blessing and a responsibility. The latter for no reason other then Jiang Wei not feeling comfortable about assuming control over them, but the truth was that they would do much more damage if they fired together. For their part, the Crossbows of the Beard heeded his words without complaint, seamless in their timing. Taking his own bow out, Jiang Wei sized up and onrushing enemy soldier, resisting the urge to bark a laugh off at the irony of using a Qiang bow against the Qiang.
“By Ranks, Fire!” he called, his voice rising effortlessly above the din of charging men. By Ranks was a technique developed to make use of the potent punch of the bolts fired by crossbows while mitigating the amount of reload time they suffered. The units set up in three ranks: the front rank of the crossbows would fire and then step to the back in order to begin reloading while the rank behind them moved up to the front and fired. The use of three ranks allowed them ample time to reload and the second line could also serve as a sentry line while they waited to move forward and fire, though given the protection being provided by the troops in front of them, it was not necessarily as big a concern as it might normally be.
Such a technique was commonly practiced, and given the veteran nature of the troops under his command, Jiang Wei knew they could be depended upon to act with nearly flawless haste. Of course, ideally it would be used to stop cavalry charges, but the Qiang had decided to forget to bring their cavalry... very irresponsible of them.
The volleys issued forth, and in its wake, the spears of his unit crashed full tilt into the charging Qiang. Their twin swords would serve them well in the melee, but their lack of a shield would leave them vulnerable to both bolts and a properly disciplined line. The enemy halberds would be another matter, as they tended to be better armored, and the weapon itself was known for its versatility. They would need to be shot to pieces or engaged to prevent them from causing serious damage to the cavalry under Guan Yu. As he watched the melee ensue, Jiang Wei lifted his hand, and the crossbowmen elevated their weapons, firing over the Shu forces into the onrushing enemy lines.
Jiang Wei snapped his own shot off, watching it lance into the chest of an onrushing swordsman. If he really focused, he could sustain a blistering rate of fire, but his attention was more on the actual scene before him, and as such, he refused to be self-critical.
The crossbows of Jiang Wei and Guan Yu are working together firing by ranks at the enemy. Jiang Wei's spears have joined the other melee forces of Shu that are engaging the onrushing enemy while Wei continues to assess the battlefield and put his own Qiang bow to use.

Gongsun Zan overlooked the battle. It was a spectacle to be sure, one he was glad he was not part of. No, no, he had no reason to be here, it only ended with his men's deaths, and he almost lost Shao, his beloved philosophical son.
Zan turned and left, to home, to Bei Ping.

Zhou Tai set his feet apart at shoulder length, and crouched slightly, waiting for an attack from Biggy... however, he was caught slightly off guard by the midget's assault. He looked down, and there was a chained-mace heading towards him. As they wrapped around his legs and became tight, Zhou Tai had to think quickly. Zei Fang's sword (if you've looked at the picture) had a sort of spikes on the blade. He crouched down lower, and held Zei Fang's sword parallel to the ground. Then, he swiped it over the chain of the mace in Biggy's left hand. As the spike entered the link, he brought it even farhte to his left, and a second spike entered a second chain-link, this time on the mace in Biggy's right hand.
As both chains were holding onto Zhou Tai's sword, he brought his body upward and wrenched the blade to his left. The fact that the chains had no slack, and were tied to something that was going to move (Zhou Tai) mixed with zhou Tai's sheer strength, the chains were sure to snap off of the Mace head. Shook both legs individually to shake off the chains, and then hopped back. There was no hope of an offensive move at this point, so he was forced to go back on the defensive until an opening was made.
During this time, Zhou Tai's men were wreaking havoc upon the Qiang troops. True they were outnumbered, but they were filled with such passion and patriotism that they were like the American farmers to the British soldiers (except that Zhou Tai's troops were trained better.) the macemen would stalk forward, and when they were attacked, the attacking weapon would be met by a shieldbash, and then a mace upwards towards their face. If that didn't work, a twin swordsman, who was watching the maceman's back, would slide out and deal with the enemy. Then, they would act as a shock troops, intended to send the enemy into disarray due to their dual weapons.
Zhou Tai has (hopefully) broken Biggy's weapons! He has taken a step back, and has momentarily gone on the defensive!
Zhou Tai's troops are gettin' the job done on the battefield!
