Looking on with intrigue as they walked along he wondered in her head what she thought of his answer. Sure he had spend some time in the armies speaking to them how they should be spoken to but maybe he has forgotten how to speak to ladies in general.
A thought crossed his mind when she had said about her defeating all in the crew, thus she must be strong but she didn’t seem lively. It seems that she didn’t have a purpose in life, no goals to achieve, no aspects to look up towards, no anything. She just took orders as they came to her.
Moving his hand towards his chin and rubbed it giving the impression that he was under thought. It also seemed to him that her father was most protective of her, he wondered were he and Qing was based at surely they might be in Jiao Zhi a docking station but it seem to be a bit far especially crossing the Yun Nan jungles and poison swamps.
Still walking as they neared the end of the botanical gardens he took his hand away from his chin back towards his sides letting them move throw free movement. He seem to have a care free nature and acted if the war wasn’t on. Maybe at Cheng Du it felt that China should be like this carefree and in peace, people helping people not recruiting them for war.
They walked to the edge of the bridge that was ontop of the small river that flowed through the gardens he turned to her ‘’Are you to spend some days here in Cheng Du? How long are you out here for?’’ It seemed like a formal question but he could have a room set up for her in the palace as her temporary room.

All there was to her life was making herself better at fighting and doing what her father told her to. Other then that she didn't really have a choice as to where her life went. It was sort of weird not having that freedom but she'd grown use to the idea. When she thought about it, she did have a purpose which was to protect the one person she cared for. Even if it meant giving up the life that she could lead if she choose so, but that life didn't compare to knowing that her mother was safe.
Qing wished the war wasn't going on around them, but it was and that was a fact. She of course hadn't decided who to help out in there cause, her guesses were her father would pick and it would be to the highest bidder. Which of course was good for him but now she actually didn't feel like the war was for some worthless cause she thought a little more of it now. It might of been because she can to the realization that there were people who didn't want to be involved, who got thrown into it. At first all she thought of it was a couple of people who didn't like how the other one was ruling so the only way they decided to solve it was by fighting, which sometimes it seemed that way.
Standing next to the bridge she leaned on the railing slightly and listening to his questions. Thinking about it she shook her head slightly "I've probably already been gone for to long...I don't even think I should of came". She said looking out at the small stream and she sighed "my fathers probably going to be angry so after today I need to get back". With that she stood there waiting to see what would happen next. Qing's gray eyes looked out as she stood there, would they stay there for a moment and continue going which was her best guess.

Looking on into the stream as the glare of the sunlight reflected of the water and into her eyes which he couldn’t stop looking at, he was somewhat infatuated by her. Also he overheard somewhere that she was 18 and he was only 21 maybe this could work. She was pretty much just a lovely lady, he couldn’t describe it.
She said she had to go, he didn’t want her to go they were only getting started. But if fate has something else in store for this couple or this romance in fact maybe she would come back to him, he would be grateful either way she was something special and that wasn’t one thing he wanted to leave behind.
As she looked on into the stream he walked over by herside and looked to wherever she was looking at ‘’Xiaoli, please stay here in Cheng Du with me well at least another couple of nights I have some much more to show you’’ He wondered how she would take that it might of sounded a little desperate on his part but it was like a fire you didn’t want it to die down to nothing on a cold night.
Obviously it looked like Liu Bei was shy about the whole ordeal but try as he might he looked confident in his actions, even so much as he would keep living how he was living regardless of her answer.
There was a small wind that was coming from the incoming storm it seemed to be headed from Yun Nan, it looked as if she was cold. The next thing Liu Bei did was extremely rare as he had never done this before he took of his cape that was descended from Liu Bang and put it over her to give her warmth.
He smiled as he did this he wondered how her reaction would be, he wanted her to stay to continue the tour and he wanted to see how things would pan out from there. He was aware of the current situation of the Liang & Chang An battle aswell, had she head of the battle that was going on? Did she know of why he didn’t participate?
The rains were only a few minutes away, this was make or break time this fore coming answer would see if Liu Bei had someone to continue on this road he had just taken or would he walk it alone for another step.
In away it was somewhat romantic in what was leading up besides some random bow chika bow wow coming from a nearby tree. He ignored all that just for her answer would she stay with him or go hopefully keeping him in her mind for another meeting.

Qing could not help but notice that he was looking into her eyes and she laced her fingers together, leaving was probably going to be harder. She got a feeling that he didn't want her to leave but she had to, there were people who needed her. Of course she would love to stay there but there was a loyalty that lied to her mother who she wanted to protect. It seemed more like she was trying not to get close to someone, that wasn't a lie but she had other things to protect. Qing without the threat of her mother getting killed would honestly probably stay here and visit but her mother was still alive so she had to.
She was only eighteen and by the looks of it he was not all that much older then her. Which she found it was a little strange that someone so young would be leading a army. "It's not that I don't want to stay but..." bitting her lip she looked over at him "I can't". Qing was not really lying to him, she did in fact want to stay and see more of the city but as much as she wanted to she couldn't. Feeling the cape on her she looked over at him and shook her head "oh no I'm fine" she said feeling a little bad when he gave it to her.
As Qing looked up she noticed that the sound of rain falling began to come and when it did it came down pretty hard and she looked at him. What was she going to do, thinking about it she really didn't want to go back in this kind of weather. Something told her to go back and then something else told her to stay here with him. "Okay..." Qing had finally made up her mind "sense it's pouring rain this would probably not be the best idea to go home in so I'll stay for tonight". After that she wasn't entirely sure what she would do, due to the weather of course her father would probably understand or he'd just send her out to do extra things then he normally would due to the fact that she had left.

After all this he was kinda pleased that she decided to stay even though that the factor could have been the incoming rain, he wasn’t quite sure though it also seems that she had something serious on her mind. Would was it? He couldn’t try and figure it out, it might be more complex than he could think of.
But this thought continued to stay with him for sometime, what could it be? Family matters? Her father was a somewhat renown pirate around some parts of china could it be that? Of course there could be other factors aswell. But maybe that was the main one she was thinking of, was this the reason that she didn’t want to stay?
Putting his arm over her shoulders he hoped that she didn’t mind it. He wondered what she was thinking,he looked at her ‘’Do you mind telling me if there was anything on your mind? I would like to help in anyway’’ then looking forwards as the walked back towards the city and towards the main palace.

(It’s okay )
Qing started walking and he was walking right beside her as she kept going, looking to the side every once and a while to make sure he was still following. Feeling his arm around her shoulder she looked over at him slightly and took nothing from it really. She of course knew what gestured like that were to be taken as but she was not just going to run around and start assuming things she didn’t know. Qing never really liked to do that to people, because most of the time you tended to be wrong when you assumed thing. Keeping a open mind was one of the things that she didn’t have that much of a hard time doing when it came to certain things.
“Well...yes…sort of” Qing said looking at him as the rain came down and she felt it as it softly hit her, she actually liked rain. “Don’t worry about it though, after all I’m here to enjoy my time not talk about my problems or whatever you want to call it” as she spoke the last word she mumbled it to herself really. Just because she had enjoyed her time there did not mean that she was going to open up to him and poor out her problems, she didn’t do that to people. It did not seem like the best thing to do to someone who was running a force and probably several more cities like the one they were walking in at the moment. In a way she felt a little bad for him having to rule on his own, there of course he had officers and that sort of thing but Qing wandered if he had any sort of family to back him up.
He looked to young for the whole wife and kid’s scenario of course a lot of people of this land where already married by the time that they were married. Of course that was from her perspective, most girls were married off to thirty year old men and they were only sixteen. Qing’s father had always told people he has not married her off yet because he wants to make sure she had seen all of her options for marriage. From her point of view he just wasn’t ready for his only child even if she was not the son he wished she was, to see them get married off to someone, and feel like he had lost control of them. It appeared that as long as he had her mother in hold she would remain his obedient little task runner till the threat of her mother getting killed was gone and she had found something else she could really do besides listen to every single one of her fathers wishes.

The rain felt pleasant on him like a refreshing lite shower, he stopped only for a moment to look directly at the sky as rain poured as it grew to a faster motion picking up speed and dropping right onto her face. It was to remember the fallen soldiers of his army that had died, if so it was more of a prayer than anything.
Rain stayed at an consistent pace for the moment he was having, he wasn’t sure if Qing would understand what he was doing he usually did this. It also reminded him of his training when he was in his teen years in the waterfall and the rain that constantly poured there. It wasn’t the one he would of shown to Qing it was a far more mystic one.
Closing his eyes for this extra moment there was some small muttering from his mouth. To forgive his enemies should he have any, to watch over the people caught in the chaos and the wars all around. One last thing for his troops and officers and everyone else that he may of missed out on.
Reopening his eyes towards the sky his gaze not shifting and his cape blowing with the wind on her back put his head down and moved towards Qing he was sorry if she didn’t understand any of it but it was something that he held high in his heart.
Even though she said she didn’t have any problem or she didn’t want to say he thought that surely there must be something else on her mind. As there was many on his such as paperwork and government officials but they could wait he was with someone he thought was special aswell.
Approaching on the market place, the marketers had closed shop for the day unless they were in night shift. They had set up mini tents to block the merchandise from the rain they all looked at Liu Bei and his partner as they walked in. Many guards formed around them and he shook his head ‘’Your dismissed from duty tonight, the night guards will replace you get some rest.’’
With that all said and done he continued to walk as the guards all walked towards their houses and their families. As they approached the palace he looked over towards her ‘’I shall set you up in my palace for the night you stay here. Okay? It shall be in my quarters anyway. Is that fine by you’’ as he looked over at her, she must be drenched hopefully she would forgive him for being wet.
Another thought had crossed his mind that many other leaders such as Cao Cao had concubines another thing Liu Bei didn’t believe in, they also had wives to tend to and they might be treated badly. He wondered about Qings ideas for the future there could be a chance that he could be in it. But he would ask her a little later tonight.

Giving a glance as he stood there and looked up at the sky, she got the idea that is was probably something about honoring the soldiers who had died. Qing really wasn't one to ask someone about something like that so she merely stood there. Moving some of her hair out of her eyes as the rain had just about drenched her as she stood there. Standing there in a rain would usually bother most girls but Qing liked the ran, it was one of the few things she really did enjoy. Just the feeling of the rain on her face and the sounds it made as it hit houses some how made her slightly happy in a weird way that she guessed she was probably the only person on the planet that would understand.
As she heard Liu Bei mutter a few words she guessed that whatever he was doing earlier he was done with. Qing of course didn't mean anything really but not telling him much it was just that no one normally asked. The people on her fathers ship would simply ask if you were able to fight and help get the reward. It was that simply for them, nothing else mattered but when they got to get there cash when they could just get there money and fight. She of course enjoyed to fight but she really did not like to kill people and didn't take all that much pride in it, after all even it was a person that was considered evil it was still killing another person.
"Oh you really don't-..." she thought about it and shook her head she was his guest "okay" she said with a small bow as she looked at him. "It's perfectly fine with me" she said nodding her head as she stood there looking at him. Qing's thoughts about the future weren't exactly mapped out for her, just like the rest of her life. After all she did not have the slightest clue in about a few years where she would be what she would be doing that sort of thing. All that Qing could do was just let the pieces fall into place and hope something good would come from it.

Just before there walk towards or over the bridge towards the main palace he looked over at her she was drenched, he did in a way feel bad for her but in another way it was a little funny seeing this usually silent type take being wet. He walked her over towards the entrance where the main hall was warm, many officers and assistants rushed over towards him with anything that was dry to help him dry off.
Shaking his head they moved over towards Xiaoli offering her anything that could help her get dry without trying to be persistent. He then walked over ‘’This is Xiaoli Qing, an honorary member and guest to me. Anything she needs please don’t hesitate to get it.’’ She was one to not take anything from others and resisting but as an offer from him maybe she would be happy to take it.
She seemed a little surprised and happy he thought maybe this would be nice for him to get acquainted with this young lady a little more and perhaps enjoy having her company. Perhaps she was starting to warm up to Liu Bei aswell. Not one to be forcing anything on to her, he just wanted to make her feel at home and happy.
He walked over towards her and looked her in the eye ‘’I will go and get ready and soonish can you meet me for dinner in the main dinner place. One of my assistance could help you with that.’’ He would like to get to know more about her, perhaps he has been speaking to formally around her or to army like he would have to loosen up and speak casually when he meets her for dinner later tonight.

(sorry about posting less lately then I usually do, started school and I have to go to meetings for clubs and stuff also homework...not fun)
Watching the people run over to Liu Bei they started to offer him stuff to dry off with and a small smirk was on her face. It seems as though the people enjoyed pleasing him or they cared about him a lot. Which with this city she wouldn't be all that surprised if they cared about him that much. It disappeared as he started to tell them to get her anything she needed "you really don't have to" she said as all the people walked over and she looked over at Liu Bei for a minute. Qing wasn't one of the biggest fans to have a ton of attention on her, she was use to doing things for herself, and not have others do it for her.
Some of the women looked at her dress and telling her that they would take her to change, and she gave a small nod. After all she didn't want to wear that especially sense it was soaking wet so she had agreed that they could take her off in a little. "Okay" she said giving him a small smile "there going to drag me off...wherever" she said raising her eyebrow slightly at the girls. They were all whispering and doing whatever as she stood there talking to Liu Bei. "Soonish sounds good" she said with a small smirk again as she stood there looking at him.
As she opened her mouth to say something else the girls grabbed her and said that every minute was very important for what they had in mind. Looking back at him Qing gave a shrug as these girls appeared quiet insane to her but that was just her opinion. "See you soonish Liu Bei" as Qing said that the girls dragged her off to wherever they wanted to get her ready at. Qing had never really been like these girls dragging her of course if she would of just lived her mom for the rest of her life she probably would of. Of course she just couldn't see herself being like these girls they were all so relaxed which was never something that came easy to her.

It seemed that she was starting to warm up towards him, in many ways this could be a good thing, but one thing for sure she was seemingly more happy than before, hopefully he wouldn’t do anything stupid in the coming hours with her. After he turned his back walking towards the main stairs many assistants gave him a lot of paperwork but he wasn’t in the mood for that right now.
Still soaking wet from the rain outside he walked up the stairs and out of sight to Qing. It would be some time for the cook to be ready for him and his special friend but he would do his best to cook up something great Liu Bei was sure of it. Taking his time to get ready changing clothes etc etc.

As the women rushed Qing into the room they sat her down and looked at her for a moment two of them were younger and the other was older. “Well…lets get to works girls” they said as they started to pull out dresses and looked over at Qing as she sat there wondering what was going on. As they told her to go change behind a screen they handed her a green dress. Smiling to her they all just stood there and got out other things they needed to make the outfit complete. “I’ll just wear a different dress” she said as she stood behind the screen a small sigh came from her lips she hated looking this formal.
“Now now” the eldest one said coming around the corner to look at Qing in the dress and smiled, “you look wonderful, plus it’s green”. After all they had picked that dress for that being one of the reasons it was a beautiful green dress that they all thought would be perfect for the occasion. “You must come along we have to fix this hair of yours after all” the older lady said as she led her out from behind the screen and then sat her down in front of a dresser. Looking at herself she watched them gently take out the red glass decorations from her hair and put them down on the dresser as she all ran around her. One of them actually had real light green flowers in her hands that they were going to use to decorate her hair with it, of course Qing tried to insist they didn’t have to but they refused to let Qing just go with her hair down.
In a way it felt a little weird for her for the first time in her life to be around a bunch of chattering and giggling women, especially three of them all in one room. Much less them actually telling her that they enjoyed her hair color and how nice she looked in the dress, it was just overwhelming her in a way. Of course if this was what they thought would be best to wear to the dinner tonight then she would certainly listen and take there advice on it. “Lord Liu Bei will love this!” one of them squealed as they helped put up her hair and talked at the same time “he seems to like you after all” one of them said with a light smile. “Oh um…” her cheeks went a small shade of pink as she sat there thinking about it “I don’t know what he thinks about me…after all not like I can read his mind”.
The all gave her smile like they knew something that she of course didn’t know and then one of them came over and pulled out earrings, they were like the flowers in her hair just made of glass, so was the necklace that they showed her. Qing took the earrings from the ones hands after all that was something she could certainly handle on her own, but they demanded to put the necklace on there they fixed it all up a bit and then told her she was done. Looking into the mirror she for a moment didn’t recognize herself all dress up, of course generally she didn’t look at herself all that much. As she stood there in front of the women she gave them all thank yous for whatever they had just done, dressed her up was about the only thing she could say. With that one of them volunteered to gladly take her down to where she was to meet Liu Bei at.
One of the men standing next to the door asked her name and once she said it they opened the door to the main dining palace as they led her in she stood there. For the first time out of that room she was fully in the green dress and now she started to feel like it was a bit much again. After all why did she need to be dressed up but the women had insisted that she looked special for the dinner ( i33.tinypic.com/fddp5g.jpg) and they seemed happier when Qing let them do whatever. In a way she didn’t mind, after all they enjoyed to talk to her and around most women she was more comfortable around and she found it easier to talk to them then all the men around her. Of course she did realize that was a sort of stupid statement, one of the people she was closes to was a guy and he had taught her basically everything she hadn’t known when she was young and childish you could say.

Many rushed in the room when Liu Bei sat down to get ready for the dinner that he wanted to have for sometime now; he wanted something that wasn’t to formal but then again to causal if that existed well the terms anyway. Many fashion experts rushed in and out of the room discuss with themselves and sometimes Liu Bei about which clothes should be worn and what hairstyle etc. As they threw clothes all around the joint one of them said that many of the female dressers that had gone into Xiaoli’s room were probably talking about Liu Bei liking her and whatnot they were always blabbering on about something or nothing he just couldn’t work them out. Little frustrating at times but they were sometimes like the female version of Zhang Fei drunk.
He had finally just chosen his own clothes and forced the designers out of the room cause that would be a little awkward to have them still in the room and things of that nature. He eventually just chose an imperial shirt with nice pants and his cape still attached to him.
Just about done he walked out of his room much to the admiration of the designers who were still waiting outside waiting for him to finish. There was no need for armor on a night like tonight or weapons his twin swords were stored away but ready for instant use. He didn’t feel a need for such items for his guest it was nice to know that she was starting to feel at home sort of speak here in Cheng Du.
Both rooms though on different sides of the palace had almost the exact same features; paintings hanging from both sides of the wall; dry as carpet with tile underneath; beautiful decorated hallways and sculptures; water features leading to the entrance of key rooms in the palace. He gazed at the paintings and the sculptures along the way to reflect what his kingdom has done and what they aim to do.
Treading down the stairs at not a hurried pace but a slow quick pace if that made any sense his cape falling after him down the stairs which led towards the main dining hall. Walking just before the seat that was close to Xiaoli’s he stopped and awaited her arrival so he took a glass of water and drank the entire glass he was obviously nervous about what should happen next.

As Qing stood there at the door, as soon as she walked in there she would join him for dinner and they would talk. As she was about to open the door she heard one of the girls coming down the hall and she looked to see what she was holding, it was a letter. "Qing!" the girl said running up to her and showing it to the girl and it had on it as a seal it was a skull and she knew who it was from. Taking it in her hands she opened it and the girl looked anxiously at the other girl you could say, after all Qing was only eighteen. As she opened it she recognized it as her fathers writing and as she read it she sighed as she stood there.
Looked like her plans for staying there and having dinner were over, in fact the whole night and tomorrow with that single letter was gone. "There is a man waiting for you at the walls" the girl said looking at her "he's tall and bald...you know him?" she looked at Qing curiously. "Hm yes, that's my bodyguard" she said and then he came threw the doors, black clothing in his arms. "Play time is over Qing we have some important things to do" he said looking at her a little surprised that she was all dressed up again "so put these on and lets go" with that he tossed the clothing to her. Sighing she walked into the room where she had been earlier and took everything out of her jet black hair, and slipped on her usual black clothing.
Looking at herself with the vale in her hands she sighed and set it down, sitting there she decided to at least write a letter to Liu Bei. As she wrote she couldn't help but think of how rude he would probably think of her but to her and she might not of understood this, there were things that she put over this. Over being here and visiting and relaxing, there was more to her life and sadly she couldn't just stay and visit with someone. Finishing it she looked at herself and sighed "lets go do what I do best" with that she slipped on the vail like covering that would cover half of her face. Cover half of her, the half that no one would ever know about no matter how much they wanted to.
As she finished up she came out of the room and she walked over to her bodyguard and looked at him, "are you ready to go?" he said looking at her as she stood there. "Ready as I'll ever be" Qing said rolling her eyes as she walked past him and out the door that led to the outside. It was not raining anymore and it was dark as she walked over to her horse and gave it a small pet before getting on to it. Qing got on it and handed the one girl the letter she had wrote "make sure Liu Bei gets this" she said as her bodyguard came riding by and she immediately took off after. With that Qing and her bodyguard went off into the night, she was leaving all that had happened in that city behind. For the moment or days she was, it just all depended.
One of the girls went inside and walked in to see Liu Bei sitting there, placing the letter down next to him she gave him a nod "sorry" was the only word that escaped her lips before she was gone, the letter read like so:
Dear Lord Liu Bei,
By the time you read this I will be out of sight or for that matter out of Cheng Du when you get this messages. My bodyguard came and I just had to go, there are things that I have to do. Things that I still have to fight for even if everyone thinks I should give them up. I know that I was suppose to come and have a nice dinner with you, which I looked forward to. You might not ever see me again, once again there are certain duties I have to uphold. I wish the best of luck with your kingdom and I enjoyed the time that we spent today just walking around the city. Even if you do not want to you should really just forget about me and focus on your goals.
Good luck, Xiaoli Qing
