Come here to speak with the ruler of the city. You must gain entrance through the city gates unless authorized by the ruler.

So the day came, only a days time after the rebellion had been quelled, for Wei Yan to make his own destiny. With Lu Rai by his side and his Special Staff in hand, the warrior made his way to the council chambers. It was there he meant to see how much these people truly appreciated and trusted him. With a supportive pat on the shoulder from Lu Rai, the warrior pushed open the doors to the council chambers.
The two strode their way to the before the retainer. The meeting was planned before hand as to not catch anyone by surprise or break in upon something they had no business hearing. Once within twenty feet, Lu Rai fell to one knee, his fists on the floor before him as he bowed. Wei Yan continued until he was ten feet away, then he stopped and punched his fist into an open palm, bowing his head.
"Loyal Retainer of the Han, you know that I have wished an audience with you to speak of important matters. This city of yours is a beautiful one. She has many loving people and much to offer anyone who was wander upon her. I wish to make her better, I wish to raise her above all other cities. But I must ask something grand of you for this wish to come true."
For a moment, the warrior paused. Partly to let his words sink in, and partly due to the fact that he had to think of the next thing he wished to say and how to put it.
"I wish to start my own kingdom. I wish to start it here, in Chang An. Will you allow me to have your city? Will you allow me to begin mending this battered land from here, upon your very doorstep? I wish not to take power, or your pride, or even your glory... I wish only to better all of those. Loyalty to the Han gave me my fame, but I wish not of fame, I wish of peace. Sadly, with peace comes more wars, which means the cities must make ready. I have already begun making this city ready. Allow me to take those preperations to the next level, loyal retainer. What say you?"
With that, Wei Yan fell to the same bow as Lu Rai had, laying the staff out before him. The room would be silent until the great retainer replied.

The elder looked the famed warrior over and nodded to his peers who were all seated next to him. The rumors were true of Wei Yan's fear inspiring appearance as a few of the other attendants cowered in their seats. They were impressed, but not the type to deal with combat which is what the stories of Yan had portrayed recently.
Wei Yan would have to prove that he was capable of leading people and not just soldiers. Chang An was large and one of the more important cities throughout China. Only a capable lord would be able to handle such a monumental task.
The elder stroked his beard, listening to what Yan had to say. He had already heard so many tales of the warrior's recent triumphs and the people held him in high regard.
After listening to Wei Yan's speech, the group of retainers looked to each other with disapproval until........
"Look!" one of the men said, pointing to the staff that lay before Wei Yan.
"Is that?"
Only the people could award such a gift to someone. The elder could not believe that such a battlefield berserker could have won the hearts of the people with compassion and aid instead of fear.
"Where did you get that?" the main elder exclaimed, almost stating outright that Yan had stolen it.
Just as the group of men were about to get riled up further, a man walked in behind Wei Yan and Lu Rai. Following him was another, then a woman, then another man!
"We gave the great Staff of Ming Ching to this man!" was the call from the people. They knew who they wanted, needed, to lead in such times of chaos.
The people had spoken!
"Very well, what do you wish to call this....kingdom of yours?" the elder said, having no choice but to listen to the calls of Chang An's populace.
Wei Yan has won over the people of Chang An and is being offered the chance to rule!

Wei Yan was honestly taken back, hell the warrior was pulled to his feet by a giddy Lu Rai. His friend, his companion in so many drills and battles was truly his most supportive person.
"Come Yan! Name your kingdom! It's yours to rule now! Name it! Name it quickly!" chirped Lu Rai hopping a bit as he patted Wei Yan's shoulder.
For a moment, Yan stood in silence, peering over the people and thinking back to all his time on the battlefield. What to call the kingdom of Wei Yan, famed barbarian?, thought the warrior in silence.
"Glory... We'll call this kingdom Glory for that is what we shall strive for! None shall stand before us for we tower over all in glory! So when the warriors chant and roar on the battlefield, they'll have true meaning behind those words! Oh my friend Lu Rai, this word is no longer a fairy tale! We have achieved glory, now let us bring it to others!"
All of a sudden, the silenced Wei Yan was just as giddy as his companion. Bending down, he picked up the staff he'd been awarded and raised it high up.
"And let this be proof that even a berserker can win the hearts of men through his humble deeds! We shall give hope to those without and bring glory with those ignorant of the word! Lu Rai! Ready the men, we have much work to do!" boomed the warr-- no.. the leader. Lu Rai nodded and bowed his head now, punching a fist into an open palm as he would have some official. Now Wei Yan was his lord, and he ment to bring that dream to so many others.
"Thank you great advisors! Thank you for this honor! Send word to the people! Wei Yan, The Ravager of Courage, now protects them with his life and his blade! Let no man be downtrotted! No soul ill-heard! We are equals here in Chang An! Glorious Equals!"
*((((Just to save time... The color I want is Teal, since Yellow is already used enough. And yeah, just the word Glory. Not the Kingdom Of or anything like that.. Just Glory. Trying to be overly original, but hey, it works for me.))))*

Aja walks in bowing to Wei Yan on his knee and gets up. He looks at the man who gave Aja the idea of a strong ambitious man. In the great big halls Aja Jex stood up with his built body however he was young that meant he was afraid of getting rejected.
"It's good to see you Lord Wei Yan, after all I have been through with my journey. I have come to met a real hero of this age, your looks soften my heart. If the people are right and you have formed a force of Glory, let me offer you my service to help you in this land."
Aja Jex wanted to make something clear before Wei Yan replied to him:
"My let downs weren't real, Zhang Jiao dis-banded as I have heard. So I've come to you, please don't dissapoint me,"
On one knee he waited for his fate's answer.

Wei Yan looked the man over. Honestly, he liked the man's blunt way of speaking and his honesty. Yan hadn't been his first choice, but Yan would be his last. Standing from a table covered in maps of the north-west, the warrior made his way over and knelt clasping Aja Jex on the shoulder.
"You don't kneel in my kingdom, friend. Welcome, I give you Glory, the kingdom of the people. You may walk beside me for as long as you wish." stated Yan slowly before rising, and bringing up his new officer, Aja Jex, with him.
"If you are looking for something to do, the walls need tended very badly. Your army shall be allowed entance into the city and stay at their liesure. If the heaven's are good, more soldiers of your caliber will follow."

THE CITY
After being let inside the city by the chunky Elite guard, Meng was in the town square. Holding his steeds reins firmly while walking through the city. The light drizlle was still going on, and a light mist dazes over of the city. The citizens where walking along the paths, miding their own buisness and not to worried about Meng, nor paying any attention to him, as many of warroirs began to pass through here ever since the city had a new governer, Wei Yan.
Kids where playing through the streets, jumping in small puddles, and having laughs. The merchants where still trying to sell their products, to the people, even though they showed no intrest, in what some of them had to sell. Heck even some young teenage brats where trying to hustle some of the men coming back from working in the fields or either seeling food at the market, things like this really couldn't be stoped due to the curoption of China as of now as many of the Lords had made their own speeches and their signifecent thinking that they are the ones to bring the land under one banner,.
Meng could dwell or even look so heavily on the type of gambiling that was set fourth, because he left that all behind. Meng hurryed his pace towards the high steps which led to the Audience Hall, which most likely his lordship Wei Yan would be there. Walking up the stairs with his steed, he made his way towards the door, there was two guards standing their. Meng then released the reins from his steed and walked inside the hall, nooding as he passed by the two guards.
THE HALL
As Meng entered, he saw the banners of the Glory kingdom across the walls about 5-10 yeards away from each other and between that was a lit flame that was in the middle of each, so walk was long but filled with much enthusiam as Meng had not seen or spoken to Wei Yan since the battle, perhaps he changed a bit, but knowing Yan, he wasn't gonna change just by becoming lord of a city..
Meng got closer and he could see another man talking to Wei Yan, the man looked a little fimilair since he last saw him at the front entrance. Meng was a few steps from the man that was talking to Wei and not wanting to enterupt, he awaited somewhat in the shadows and where lit slightly, unitl they where done talking.

After just finishing with Aja Jex, another man walked into Wei Yan's council. Today was a fine day indeed! It was said three men were in the city, another at his gates, and still servents were coming and going with word from other officers all over China. Truly today was a great day!
With a smile and a pat on the shoulder of Aja Jex he dismissed the man in the most friendly way he could imagine before making his way over infront of Lu Meng.
"Ah! Master Lu Meng, I see you got the parchments I sent you? Very good! Now, I hope you have come to make a home in Chang An for now, but a man of your caliber would want to know more the city and it's ruler most likely, correct?" Wei Yan spoke as he had so many times before, sadly the only time Lu Meng had ever truly seen the man he was in a fearful rage upon a boat. Now, he was firm in his words and his actions, but respectful.

Meng was glad to see Yan, from a calm and cool collective standpoint. It seems like Yan had a way with officers aswell, since iseems as though the man that just left is now an officer under his command, Meng was surely soon get to know this man sooner than later,
"....NO, Lord Yan. I beilive you are a able ruler of Chang An and I don't really have any worry. All I want now is to just get some rest.....if there is anything specific you would like me to do just ask....Lord Yan?.."

The envoy walked into the palace with Lu Rai and nodded when left to handle his business. No doubt, Rai would keep a close eye on Fu Lan but the Glory Kingdom had nothing, currently, to fear. They only just created a fledgling kingdom and more than likley were unfamiliar with what had happened prior in the west.
"Ah, there is the man I have been looking for" the envoy said, clasping his hands together and walking right by Lu Meng.
Sure, it was rude but Fu Lan did not like to wait nor did the Golden Horde.
"My name is Fu Lan and i have been sent by my lord, Ma Chao, to speak with you of matters concerning the Han and the northwest regions of China."
Many attendants may have stopped what they were doing and listened in on the conversation. Ma Chao did the man say? Was he not the most bad ass warrior in all the land?
Indeed.
"Your actions at the recent battle of Luo Yang would make it seem as if you are loyal to He Jin and the failing Han. My lord wished to know your stance on such an issue" the envoy stated, wondering if he would stand on the side of the Han or on the side of a new Empire.
Which empire and who was to be emperor could not be known just yet. However, something in the very question of Yan's loyalty spoke volumes if one was paying attention.
Was it Ma Chao had his own designs on the Imperial Throne? Was he using Wei Yan's loyalty to whomever as reason enough to attack him? Was Mengqi looking to make Wei Yan his ally?
"It seems Chang An is flourishing under your rule and it has been quite some time since doing so well."
Lan looked around and was impressed, but also a bit.......sad?

For a moment, Wei Yan glared at his new arrival, almost enraged by his blatant disrespect of Yan's newest officer, Lu Meng. With that, he patted Meng on the shoulder and nodded.
"Go, Master Lu Meng and rest, and when you feel able, the wall needs work. May you time here in Chang An be peaceful." stated the warrior turned leader before turing back Fu Lan.
With a nod and a smile he turned his attention fully to Fu Lan now, looking the man over. It was his natural, warrior instinct telling him that this man could become an enemy and Yan needed to know all his possible weapons. After a moment he began adressing Fu Lan's question.
"Let it be known now by all the governor's of the land, all the children, all the people, all the sick, all the poor, all the wealthy, all the warriors, and all the tacticians... I rule my kingdom in the name of the people of China. My enemy is things that would do them wrong. If that means the Han, then so be it, if that means old allies, so be it. I will not stand around while the people of China are being wracked by civil war and do nothing, when I am able to do everything! That is where I stand, and that is where I shall stand forever, Master Fu Lan."
With that, Wei Yan stood in silence for a minute letting all his words sink in. Nodding over to Lu Rai, his companion left the halls, even going so far as to leave the city.
"Now, Fu Lan, I wish to ask you a question. Answer if you can, or if you wish, but let it be known your words are to be considered as if they come from Ma Chao himself, for the man has sent you in his stead. Actions will be taken in reaction in the words as if you were Ma Chao, so do not be surprised if you choose to speak. Is your lord, Ma Chao, loyal to the Han? Where does he stand?" the words of Wei Yan seemed to linger for a moment, his determined, blunt voice showing true passion for all he'd said on this day.
Some people had stopped and listened, most catching even more when the new comer had said he was a representative of Ma Chao. It was no secret that the Golden Horde was the closest possible threat, and that Lord Wei Yan had been making ready incase they decided to bring war to Chang An.

Fu Lan smirked a bit as Wei Yan went on, rambling about his care for the people and fighting recent allies if necessary. The man was sincere, that Lan could tell, but did he have what it took to unite China was the question. Still, it was good to hear someone state that they were not Han ass kissers and wished to blaze a path of their own.
The problem was, however, if one's path would collide with someone else. There could be only one ruler over the surrounding province and that would be Ma Mengqi.
"Lord Yan, it is good to hear that you have your own ideals and vision of glory. The name of your kingdom speaks a lot about your intentions, but glory for some could be simply slaying as many enemies as possible on the field of battle."
Fu Lan could still not get over the fact that such an indomitable warrior could have such a following. He wondered if Wei Yan's true intentions were to protect Chang An at all cost or just put on a show. After all, if you gave the people what they wanted there would be no dissention.
"That is, not to say that is all you are capable of" Lan said, bowing slightly and then looking up before continuing.
"Ah yes, such a question i would be happy to answer for you. Though, i will able to only supply a few brief comments on the matter as i have other tasks that i must complete before returning. I am sure you can understand."
The envoy fixed his robes and almost stuck his nose to the air, symbolizing his superiority over Yan's entourage of ruffians, before speaking again. He was, after all, part of the mighty Golden Horde which made him feel safe in the fact whatever was said would then be up to Wei Yan to act. Should he do something foolish, it would guarantee war.
"My glorious leader, Ma Chao the Dragon of Xi Liang, Protector of the Northwest, The Splendid One..." the envoy said, before stopping to tap a finger upon his chin. He had forgot some of the many names of his master and got sidetracked.
"The point is that my lord is not only a great leader of men but also unmatched on the field of battle. He wished to be present at the battle against that hethen Dong Zhuo, to show his prowess, but was predisposed with other matters in the homeland."
"The fact that such a warrior, like yourself, has taken up residence so close to Xi Liang made the people worry. They thought that you were only a ruthless barbarian and stories spread rather quickly of your immenent attack upon our city. Though, it is obvious by meeting you in person and seeing the interior of Chang An that the stories were untrue" Lan said, almost avoiding the original question.
More people were gathering around, wondering just what was going on and why an envoy of the Golden Horde was present. They would find out soon enough.
"To answer your question, my lord is quite similar to yourself in intentions and ideals. He too is for the people of his land and has shrugged off the Han as a lost cause. It is time for new heroes and emperors to rise up and take control, if possible."
There it was, plain for all to hear if listening closely. Lan had stated Ma Chao's lack of concern for the Han and also the fact that others would try to gain power in its absence. Certainly, such influential men the likes of Yan and Chao would try to expand; taking other lands under the wings for protection. The obvious outcome was a clash of the two............or was it?
"Lord Ma Chao is holding a banquet in weeks time and would like you to attend. There, he would like to discuss such issues and get to know his neighbors better" the envoy said, bowing after offering a visit to Xi Liang for Wei Yan.
"If you decline, my lord may take it personally. However, we would understand if you do not feel.....safe....as recently much evil has been spreading throughout the lands."
Fu Lan has claimed Ma Chao's Anti-Han stance and has also offered the new lord a chance to meet with Mengqi.......

"Hmmm.."
There was no facial expression to give away Wei Yan's thoughts, no hand gestures, no lacking body language. The man stood almost unchanged as he thought, then an envoy walked into the room and handed Yan a bit of parchment. He just nodded, almost already knowing what was written on it.
"If I have no other engagements when the time of this banquet comes, then yes, I will come. I have no need to be afraid to enter the walls of Xi Liang under polite terms. I have been kind to you, and one would hope to get the same respect back. You see that's what I am, a man of morals, respect being one of those I hold on high. My companion, Lu Rai, will be with me. We have no secrets between the two of us."
There was something off about Yan's words, they came slower. The slowness didn't stop them from his normal tone, he just seemed not present while he spoke, like he was lost in thought. After a few nods to himself the warrior looked back to Fu Lan fully.
"Is there anything more I can do for you, or the people of Chang An? If so, please ask away. If not, you may have full room and board for anything you may need until you see it fit to leave. If so I'll even send a few of my guards to make sure you arrive home safely. Just say the word, Master Fu Lan, and I will do all I can."
With that, Wei Yan moved back to his table and unrolled some of the maps he'd been looking over earlier. The parchment he'd been handed was unrolled as well, and again Yan nodded to himself and then laid it down.

"You are most kind, but i must be going as i have much yet to accomplish before returning to Xi Liang" the envoy said, bowing once more before turning to leave.
He stopped and looked back over his shoulder before speaking.
"We hope to see you at the capital in a weeks time, a messenger will be sent to which you can give your response if attending or not."
Fu Lan walked out of the grand palace at Chang An and down the many stairs leading to the streets.
The Golden Horde envoy has left Chang An............

Liang slowly stepped up towards the Audience Hall, making it the last stop on his trip after looking around so that he could spend time with his fellow ally. He slowly stepped into the hall, with his Lieutenant at his side, bowing lowly and deeply to Wei Yan. Lieutenant Sen Acare got down on a knee, lowering his head from view, waiting to be told to rise.
"...Greetings, Lord Wei Yan of Chang An. ...I am here in response to a summons of yours, for a get together, and perhaps a drink If you'll have us?"
He slowly rose while speaking, to meet Wei Yan's gaze, a small smile on his face as he waited a reply to his words.
