(I have been asked to moderate this battle in an effort to get things moving. If missed something with regard to your forces, please let me know.) OOC Info: Wu officers participating: Meng Xiang Troops: 100 Xiongnu Elite [ Horse| Sword+Shield Elite ] 100 Xiongnu Nobles [ Horse| Spear + Shield Elite ] 300 Native Lancers [ Mounted Lancer Militia ] 550 Xiongnu Warband [ Horse Bow Militia ] 200 Xiongnu Warband [ Horse Bow Ruffians ] 200 Xiongnu Warband [ Horse Bow Veterans ] Bodyguard: 500 Veteran Horsebowmen Nan Hai Garrison: 347 Ruffian Spearmen 222 Ruffian Sword and Shield Warriors 414 Militia Bowmen You are marching from Jiang Ye which means that assuming you are marching directly to Nan Hai you will be appearing at the "top" of the map, technically anywhere in the northwestern or western part: anywhere from the eastern side of the mountains to the eastern edge of the map. Some things to consider as you approach: The land of Nan Hai is damp and experiences frequent rainfall, though at the time of your arrival the weather is currently sunny. Even so, the ground is softer then normal -particularly so in the forest- so if you choose to start in the woods, remember that it will affect your troops, particularly your mounted units.

" Head straight for the City, Bombard the Walls, Slaughter all Infantry who come within your reach!! This city shall be took before Sun-Down!!! We have One week left, For the Xiongnu, For Zhao, FOR WU!!! "
Yelled out Meng Xiang, The Xiongnu force charging from the plains next to the forest, Heading straight for the city. They were to create Mass Chaos, Slaughter all, Massacre those who attempt to stop them. Nan Hai had brought the might of the furious Xiongnu upon them, And the city would soon be in the hands of the Wu. Thousands upon Thousands of Calvary stampeded quickly across the Lands, Massive war-crys been thrown out to alert the city of thier presence, Yet the hooves beating against the barren land was enough to alert them. The Calvary mounting Melee Weapons took to the front, While the thousand or so Mounted Bowmen rode behind them. Their objective was simple, Force the enemy to surrender, either by killing all/most of their men or scaring them shitless to the point where they'll bitch out and surrender. Xiang and his unit of Veteran Horsebowmen took to the rear of the army with Meng Lein, He was their to deliver the final punch of the Mounted Volleying. Hopefully the unit he sent towards Jian'An arrived already, But they sure could have proved useful in the long run, But he respected Wu Sheng and he sure didn't want him to get killed in battle. His thoughts were wandering off, He shook everything off his mind except for Commanding his armies in battle. It's game time, Lets go!
His men arrive from the Northeastern side of the map, to the right of the forest. His Melee calvary take up the front of the group, While the rest of his Bowmen [[ asorted ]] take up behind them to bombard the walls with thousands of arrows when reaching their destination.

If the plan was to scare the enemy into surrendering, Meng was doing a fine job of it. The gates of the city opened and a small contingent of twenty men came rushing out. Riding at the head of them, a lone figure on a horse held aloft a white flag that he waved furiously in the air as if to ward away the blows the soldiers of Wu were about to send upon them.
The Xiongnu forces had just arrived at the maximum range of their archers when the man waving the flag began to call out, his voice a strange mix of panic and relief. His clothing marked him as a man of position, perhaps an administrator? Either way, he rode at full gallop, almost as though fleeing the city.
"I beg to speak to the commander of this army that flies the flag of Wu! Our city is ruined and in dire need of assistance. Please, grant me an audience and I will gladly entrust the city to you!"
A man dressed as an administrator along with an escort of soldiers has approached the Xiongnu forces as they prepare to unleash hell and claims to be willing to negotiate for the surrender of the city.

The hell?! Those incompetent fuckers are attempting to negotiate against a Charging band of Xiongnu warriors? That almost made Xiang wish to laugh. The Calvary approaching him knew what to do, Stop? No....Run them over, Trample them, Behead them! You know, Kill them! Meng Xiang would laugh as his men continued their charge for the city, They went closer and closer into the Archer's range of attack until finally his Melee Calvary broke off from the ground and began to ride around until signs of the Gates opening was seen. His Horsebowmen unleashed hell upon the City walls, Thousands of arrows covering the Sun as if this was Thermopylae! They continued riding around the Walls of the city as they prepared for another volley, And soon they'd unleash hell once more, and again and again. He did feel sorry for the little pussy coming out with 20 men against a Calvary force of over a Thousand, Yet at the same time it was quite hilarious. My my was he an asshole or what?!
Xiongnu horde comes deep within Nan Hai's Archer's range and unleash a Hell of a Volley onto the city, Then continue riding around to unleash another volley on da wall.

The small detatchment fell quickly before the might of the Xiongnu, but not before the gates they had exited from had closed again. The walls themselves were largely devoid of sentries, with the exception of the northern and eastern corners, both of which opened fire upon the cavalry as it rode past. Mercifully, the northern wall of the city was right on the water, making it impractical for the Xiongnu to ride before, and as the archers began to take casualties, they slowly gravitated away from their initial positions, apparently hesitant to engage their saviors-turned-enemy.
Their attention, if anything, seemed focused upon the lake and the forest beyond it, though both locations seemed quiet enough...
The Xiongnu have free reign of the eastern, southern and western fields outside the city, and the alacrity of their cavalry archers has allowed them to mitigate some of the casualties sustained by exchanging fire with the sentries on the walls. The garrison seems distracted though and thus far the city remains closed to the beseigers.
Casualties:
Nan Hai Garrison: 34 Bowmen Xiongnu: 14 Ruffian Horsebows
