"Ahh. Another peaceful day.."
"My lord! An army approaches, they fly the banners of Wu!"
"Hm!?... Are you for serious!?!?"
"Yes sir!"
"Dammit... right when I was gonna take a vacations.. Hmm... I might still be able to--"
"Lord Xing what shall we do?"
The twins thing 1 & 2 approach the master of Jian An seeking guidance. The man looked at them as he scratched his bald head. He groaned, the thought of an army coming towards them was nerve wrecking enough... but this was WU! Not some little local bands, but Mutha Cluckin Wu cuz!
Shao Xing, as the man was known as, looked at the two men and nearly passed out. Though, he knew that the people trusted him and were ready to act. Maybe they could hold them off... maybe they could talk them out of pwning them... but of course, the pride of Shao Xing had awaken at the wrong time. Seeing the fear in Thing 1's eyes filled him with pride and want to repel the Wu forces... little did he know that it was nigh impossible.
"We shall prepare to fend them off... Make them wish they never approached."
"Sir.. wouldn't you like to know their nu--"
"Shut that up! We defend our city of Jian An."
"......dumb ass."
"What!?"
"I shall prepare the men immediately sir."

??Pan Zhang had smiled at the thoughts of his memory, whilst beyond the horizon laid a castle that was daunting in stature. To him the castle was large, a lot larger than many of the states Wu could have provided anyway, and if that alone was not enough – today would also be the day of his manhood, a day where he would lead the attack, and bring forth this new era under the name of Wu, and under the prestige and commandment of the Prime Minister. ??He had loved the news back in Jian’Ye, when the walls were adorned with his own men, where the women would blush at his wondering gaze, but now that he stared among the cities defences – noticing its men, noticing it’s steel. He was not so sure. ??His childhood had been no different, it was filled with endless doubt, endless decision making – and one of the hardest decisions was to become the vassal of General Tian, a man who at the time was just a simple farm boy, cultivating crops and training with spear or bow whenever he could. Now that same farm boy was among the highest Wu Ranks, with himself steadily growing beneath him. ??It was a daunting subject, and it only made him see the city more clearly from his vantage point atop the horses hide. It was a stern beast, but he felt within those few moments even the beast beneath him would buckle. ??Could he, for those few seconds – felt fear rushing through his veins? ??He had never stopped to question it, instead he had displayed that same cold face Wu Sheng had spent years perfecting, allowing no emotion to pass his body, whatever pain, doubt and fear he felt, he thought – it’d stay inside...and there it’d fucking rot and die! ??His first in command was the one to have gathered his wits, by pulling in the reins beside Pan Zhang and gazing him wearily, “You’ve yet to master the cold face.” He had said joyfully, showing a smile. ??Pan Zhang had said nothing at first; he just stared at the city, “Are the men ready.” He had finally said. ?? “As good as they’ll ever be, although you’d be wise to send in a messenger or so, even if you was a top student in those war councils, they were for kids – war is a more horrific scene for such young eyes.”??Pan Zhang shot a hand to his blade, silencing his second in command, “The young kill to please their father, the mother pampers to break their spirits – do you dare judge my character now, after so long?”??His stare won over his generals heart, and the two gazed again at the castle, “We have the siege equipment, correct?”??The general nodded, and Pan Zhang smiled – so what if they had large walls. They’d still fall, everything man could create, man could also destroy. “Then I promise you this as you relay the message, that, that city will submit – or by the heavens it will fall, and with it will it’s people. United as we may be, as a single nation – and a single chain of blood among the foreigners of this land, i will not lose heart, pride or face in front of such weak administration. So relay my message, and let them know that they can either serve their positions as prefects of my city, or they can die along with every member of their families. Today, Wu shows NO MERCY.”??And thus the message was sent, each word recited and noted, so that the enemy would receive a threat, both verbally...and via words, the messenger might have died, but if he did – so would all of Jian’An.

"Alright they're just outside our gates! Men now is the day where we show these people that we're not just some push overs! They've come for our home and we shall not let them have it without a fight. Arm yourselves and prepare for battle." Shao had decided to defend his city. He was full of youth and pride and wasn't one to back down... at least when his mind was set to it. Though he was still looking forward to his vacation.(foreshadowing anyone?) He looked to his two best men, Thing 1 & 2. The first Thing had a man that was dressed in red armor and clothing approach him. He was a messenger of the Wu force and he presented his message to Shao. There was a second where Shao's face showed a slight bit of anger. THough the moment passed by quickly and he scoffed. He smiled to the messenger and pat the man on the shoulder, while laughing. Things 1 & 2 were confused as they looked to each other and awaited their master's words to the messenger. "Haha. Return to your lord. Tell him that if he can pry this city from me then he can have it, but I do NOT bow to simple threats, not even from the Beast Lu Bu himself." "...... dumb ass.""What!?" "I will prepare the men.""I will escort the messenger back to the gate."And with that the three men were off. Shao sighed as he looked from side to side, looking for anyone who could be eavesdropping. When he was assured of the silence he moved his "throne" and picked up a weapon from behind it. "...We will not go down without a fight...." (Forgot to post it in the first post)

The messenger darted back to the allied camp, where he met up with his commanding officer and reported the news back to their ruler, Pan Zhang. The news, although grim – came as a pleasant surprise to the leading general, who had taken a liking to the camps and the drills his men would participate in whilst they awaited the reports. He was in a light mood, which came as a relief, and then turned to the scout, his gaze fierce. “Then Jian’An burns.” The scout bowed, yet had remained quiet until Zhang’s 2nd in command arrived. “Any news?” He said upon entry. “They refused.” Pan answered, dismissing the scout with a nod. “Are the weapons ready?” “Yeah, they’ve been set up on the edge, on a hill, they’re in range.”
Pan Zhang smiled at the news, and then left the camp, where his army were preparing their meals for the upcoming war, each man was cooking a hard meat, that they’d keep under their saddles or within their pouches, so that during their struggles – they wouldn’t lose fatigue over nourishment. It was a standard procedure, and even the archers had filled their bellies before they left to join the hilltop where the siege weapon had been deployed. Its crane long and slender, fashioned by the hardest timbers of Wu. “Fire as soon as possible.” Pan Zhang said, smelling the scent of the food cooking. “Destroy their walls, but keep the interior intact. My issue is with the people, not their craftsmanship.” His 2nd in command smiled at that, and then shot an arm out to signal the attack, a large rock then hurled from the crane, shooting forth to hit the gates or walls surrounding it. The weaponry was slow, but their power and accuracy far surpassed a standard catapult or ballista. They worked well – and he could smell victory over the morning air. Archers lined up in front, away from the range of their projectiles, the walls would crumble, and not even 1 Wu soldier would be sacrificed to do it.

The thunderous sounds of rocks hitting the walls of the city rung in the ears of all the men and those living in Jian An. It was clear to them now that A war was being waged on their fair city and they didn't know what to do. It was now seen that a large crack had been put in the wall of Jian An Meanwhile, a rhythmic beating could be heard from the palace of Jian An, and with the sounding of the beating men came from the garrisons of the city. They were equipped with shields and swords and they were following a man that was on a horse. The man was one of the two generals of Jian An and he was doing as he was told. He marched with his swordsmen towards and out of the gate, fear apparent in their eyes of the attacks from Wu's trebuchets, but was refused to be shown by the leadership of their general. The troop strolled out of the gate, heading towards the enemy's camp and readying themselves for battle. Such brave men they are. To help me defend a city run by that bastard... perhaps I should submit to the Wu forces... but if I do they'll just execute me. Why keep a man that would betray his original lord right?[/color] The man thought as he shook the ideas of betrayel from his mind.
"Now. You go to the east and see if you can ask for some of the veterans of the local villages to aid us. Do not be seen... do you understand?" "Yes lord Xing."And with that, Thing 2 was off to meet with the people of the smaller villages around Jian An. If he was captured then all would be lost, if the men of the villages refused then it looked grim for the city of Jian An... and the fool Shao Xing had already refused the peaceful sumbition and now they were forced to fight it out. SummaryThing 1 has advanced with his Swordsmen towards the enemy Thing 2 has snuck out of the back gate alone to ask for aid from the surrounding villages. Troops500 Swordsmen 300 Spearmen 300 Bowmen
