"Alright! Lets get things started!",Zhang Fei hollered as his unit marched towards the fields on his side of the river.
The Shu Army swiftly made camp near the fields and set up their seige equipment. The Covered Ram remained at the rear while the Trebuchets were identifying targets.
Zhang Fei's Soldiers merely kept things running smooth while the Archers line up in front of the Trebuchets.Once the sights were locked in,the order to fire was given.
The Trebuchets let loose and launched their deadly ordinance randomly into Yong An.Fei's strategy was to simply conquer Yong An.No fancy tactics were needed here.
Soon after the first ordinance was dropped, the Crossbowmen fired into the air in a wide arc.The Bolts landed inside the city, hopefully killing some soldiers.
The Trebuchets and Crossbowman continue to use this firing system.
Zhang Fei makes camp near the fields on his side of the river! Trebuchets and Crossbowman fire randomly into Yong An!

Zhang Fei began the assault and soon boulders were racing toward the city. Not only that, but he ordered volleys as well. The attacks would serve to lower enemy morale, but with no real targets it would take Fei a week to win. Upon the walls, 500 archers readied an attack to counter that of Shu who had foolishly moved into their range. If the enemy could attack then so could they, but with much more accuracy and death for the defenders. They had the height advantage and the safety of the city, though here and there a boulder almost crushed them off the wall. Arrows rained down into the Shu frontlines. Crossbow troops yelled out in agony while other let fly another attack into the city. Again, with no real targets it would be a hard fought battle. Zhang Fei should aim specifically for the gate or walls to open up an entrance. That or aim for the enemy along the walls instead of random bolts into the city. All that would serve would be to anger the people who were now getting involved and killed at the hands of Shu! *********************
Morale = 90/70

Casualties = 80 Xbows to Zhang Fei, 25 Bows to Defenders

Despite assuring his friend to the contrary, Meng Jie did indeed feel somewhat unusual leading an army again...particularly an army of Han Chinese. It was not that he had issue with his northern neighbors, he simply did not imagine that he would ever have such a trust invested in himself as a Nanman.
I have been given a great trust, and now it is time that I proved myself worthy of it.
Behind him marched a detachment of the army assembled by Jiang Wei. The young minister had many more troops under his command, but it had been decided that to involve too many soldiers would bring about unnecessary casualties on the part of both the army and the people of Yong An.
Of course, that was why they were there.
Looking over his shoulder, Meng Jie watched as the medics marched in flawless formation with the other soldiers under his command. Dedicated and courageous, they were truly deserving of respect for the dangers they were willing to face solely for the purpose of giving life... and that one that kept smiling at him in the third rank was pretty attractive.
As they approached the city, Jie could see the might siege engines of Shu begin to fire. He had been informed that the commander of the army was Zhang Fei, a beast of a man by all accounts. He should focus the fire of those trebuchets though... just hurling rocks at the city will not do the damage needed-
Jie caught himself, forcing the ideas out of his head. He was not in command, Zhang Fei was. His role was to provide supplies and assist in tending the wounded. If Zhang Fei sought his council, he would offer it, but not before.
Arriving in the fields on the opposite side of the river from the city, Meng Jie began issuing his orders.
"Once we reach the other side of the river, the archers and I will move to assist Master Zhang Fei. The medics will begin setting up their tents at the far eastern side of the field, outside of their arrow range. Supply wagons will set up there as well, and the spears and swords will guard the camp while the scouts enter the forest, keeping watch for enemy troops that may try to catch us by surprise."
He received a unison of confirmations from his captains and the army set off across the water, with Meng Jia riding on the boat that would land first so as to be able to present himself to Zhang Fei as soon as possible. Just for good measure, Jiang Wei had provided him with a sealed scroll explaining the role that Meng Jie was supposed to play and wishing the brazen commander a swift victory.
Meng Jie, the servant and ally of Jiang Wei has come with a portion of his army to assist Zhang Fei in the battle. His troops and support units have begun crossing the river in an effort to link up with the other Shu forces in the area.
Shu Forces under Meng Jie:
500 Ruffian Bowmen 92 Pike Militia 33 Sword and Shield Militia 6 Units of Medics 3 Supply Wagons 1 Unit of Scouts

Zhang Fei smiled as the Garrison of Yong An replied to his artillery fire and quickly barked out an order.
"Load the Hay Bails and light them on fire! Aim them at the walls!"
The Boulders were removed from the Trebuchets and Bails of Hay were placed onto the loaders. The hay was loosely bound and then set on fire.
Once in mid-air,the bails would break apart on the decent and hopefully cover the walls in a firey blaze.Mean while, the crossbowmen would continue to fire volleys into the city.

The defenders came under attack by blazing pieces of hay, but it was to no avail for Shu as it simply blew out or was put out. Any of the bails that actually stayed together though, crashed down into the city to spark fires within the walls of Yong An.
"Hurry, get water on those flames! Archers!"
A captain along the walls barked out orders to his men, hoping that they would hustle to extinguish the flames and send metally death down upon the enemies. They did just that too, grabbing buckets and filling them with reserves of water before putting out the fire. Soon they would be out of the precious liquid though, forcing them to possibly move toward the river to obtain more.
Arrows rained down into Zhang Fei's men yet again, but at least now he had back up under Jiang Wei's second. Meng Jie had arrived with missile soldiers as well as an assortment of other units. Most important, currently, was his medical staff who quickly set up their stations to aid the wounded.
Fei's return volley this time was more deadly, catching many a soldier upon the wall and sending them to their death. Many fell off and down into the city where flames were still spreading.
"They are yet to even do significant damage! Seems this Zhang Fei is as foolish as the stories portray. Perhaps he is drunk, right now!"
The men upon the walls, though getting hammered by arrows and boulders, laughed a bit at their captain's comments. Hell, they needed something to laugh about to change the current mood.
Still Zhang Fei has not targeted the city and it stands strong. Men are killed along the walls and some inside the city. Meng Jie arrives to aid his ally.

The boats struck land, and his army, already aware of their assigned tasks, hit the ground running. Meng Jie and his archers rushed towards the front lines. Having a higher arc then the crossbows Zhang Fei had brought along, they would be able to fire from a greater distance and Jie did not even bother to look back when he heard his captain halt the archers at an optimal range. Moving on ahead, Meng Jie watched with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty as the seige engines of Zhang Fei began launching flaming projectiles at the city of Yong An. Does he hope to force them to surrender using such a tactic? If nothing else, it would serve to partially divert the attention of the enemy garrison... but perhaps? No, he was there to assist only. "Lord Zhang Fei, I am Meng Jie, servant of Jiang Wei. I have come under instructions to aid you," Jie announed over the din of the battle as he handed the scroll he had been given over to Zhang Fei. "My archers will begin firing upon the enemy on the walls, and I have supply wagons that will move to assist your trebuchets. I was also sent with a full corps of medical staff; perhaps you would be willing to allow my men to start moving your wounded?" Even as he spoke, Meng Jie could make out the voice of his archer captain bellowing "fire!" and the air was filled with the first volley of arrows headed towards the enemy garrison on the walls. Of course, until the seige engines punched a hole or forced down the gate, all he and his men could do was keep the wounded alive and keep the ranged forces supplied. The archers under Meng Jie have begun firing upon the sentries on the walls. The crews operating his supply wagons have begun running ammunition the trebuchets and archers and his medical staff has set up their tents and begun heading to the lines to bring the wounded back for treatment.

Zhang Fei turned to Meng Jie and smiled as he replied to the warrior.
"Yeah! Lets get the wounded over to your healers!"
Soon, the wounded were being carried over to Meng Jie's Makeshift Hospital and were being treated.
Then,Zhang Fei barked another order.
"Now! Build a bridge across the river with the rafts! Trebruchets, fire boulders again! Aim at the walls that the archers stand on! All Remaining units converge on the eastern gate with the ram! Forward!"
With that said, the Trebuchets switched their ammo back to boulders and began firing at the walls that the archers stood on.Meanwhile, the boats where made into a bridge across the small river.Once they were stead, the Covered Ram was brought up and Zhang Fei's Infantry advanced towards the Eastern Gate.
Zhang Fei's wounded are being handed over to Meng Jie's Healers! Fei's Trebuchets fire boulders at the Archers on the walls! The Boats are made into a bridge and the Covered Ram advancers towards the Eastern Gate with Fei's Infantry!
