Attacking Army - Xiahou Dun, Mortiss Troop Count - 7750 Siege Count - 4 Defending Army - Qishan Yui Troop Count - 4000 Siege Count - 2 Map
Morale : Wan - 50 || Wei - 50
??Qishan was enjoying a nice bowl of fruit when the palace does creaked open, revealing in its light a body that seemed to move awkwardly through the passages. It was none other than Dyson, a man who had once offered Qishan his life when he had been saved from rebel attacks, but unforgiving in his duties – Qishan had ordered him to act as a messenger, and today (first time for everything) he had actually done his job, and was reporting a message the guards had received that very same day. ??He approached the throne room, and knelt low, stamping his chest with his fist, (he winced with the pain) and said, “Wei are among our borders, they threaten us with war with an army far greater than our own. Your orders, sire?” ??Qishan hadn’t finished his bowl, and he had simply ignored the interruption so that he could finish his peaches, once he had done, (and once he had wiped his mouth) he rose from the throne, “Send word to the barracks and prepare for war.” ??It had been Qishan’s first battle in protecting Wan, well, at least it was to many of the others, although he had protested at the idea, he’d fought small groups of bandits, smugglers, even the odd thief. In his inexperienced eyes – he was a fucking god! ??“What can way produce against me.” He had said, thinking it was smart, “Wan have me, and that’s all they’ll ever need. Kill the messenger, bring death upon them.” ??A few hours later archers had crept upon the walls, and a few ministers had reported to the messenger that they would not surrender, as soon as the old minister had finished – the archers had sprang the attack, sending arrows down on the escort, hoping to tear away their souls for the upcoming festivals of victory. ??They had assumed, as did most ignorant rulers - that the victory was already placed, to him – they wouldn’t lose. ??Soon the army had arrived for Qishan, large catapults were hurled onto ramps beyond the vision of this Wei attack, the enemy had attacked via the northeast, and they had just the right amount of scouts needed to have prepared these beasts of war beforehand. ??But now it was time, Qishan had steadied his grip on his sword, and stared down at his soldiers behind the gates, “You know your formations, get into them. What the enemy don’t know is what will kill them when they breach our cities interior. Ready your swords, and yell with the might of the heavens, as if you are all blessed, when we all know we’ll most likely be dead by tomorrow.” ??They stared wide eyed at him, but the soft smile plastered across his face brightened their mood – such a weirdo, they would have thought, always saying dumb ass shit in the midst of battle.
Hmm, I didn’t check the map to see which direction you’d technically be coming in, but this way seems one of the more logical in my eyes, since you’d be coming for like, the Xu Chang area, which is north east on most maps Troops 3800 UNKNOWN 200 Veteran Bowmen 2 Catapults

Who sits and waits for hours? Mabye most messengers but Yu Jin was a bit more wise that it dose not take hours to read a message and respond. Unless of corse the response required gathering and arming soilders.... so it may have behooved the acting leader of Wan to prehaps be a little more quick witted in decisive.
Yu Jin rode back to the main camp and expland his reasoning to which Xiahou Dun agreed that the request for a slightly more peacefull conflict resloution was not to be had. Very well then, hopefully the savage mortiss was worth his headache casued to Cao Cao, being the whole fiasco with wu just before the large allied battle against Ma Chao.
"Bring the catapults to the fore the walls of Wan will have to be crushed by bolders! Archers at the ready! Calvary form up to the right flank mounted archers in the rear! Spearmen form up around Yu Jin in the center of the unit! Axemen behind the Spears to follow as if a Sub-unit."
The 1750 bowmen Mixed among the different tiers of skill stepped forward into range and drew there bows and hailed a volley to what could be seen, 200 archers on the city walls. Soone there after the catapuls came behind there lines preloaded and massive bolders flew at the walls of Wan. Xiahou Dun sat on his horse with his calvary while his main man Yu Jin was with the Foot soilders as ordered. Now if Mortiss could assist with his 2 catapults and various vagabonds they could perhaps make the ruler of Wan regret his descision to take arms.
With possiblity upon possiblity for the turns and outcomes of a battle Xiahou Dun already had a few thoughts come to mind and various counter measures, of which the foot soilders were of more importance but the was something that couldn't be helped now any ways.

*Mortiss began barking orders at his men in his detestable tounge. His men lined up in formation, the archers and crossbowmen were in the first ranks closely followed by the Horse Archers in the second rank protected on the wings by the horse lancers. The Twin Swords were in the final rank protecting the catapults. A few of the naked fanatics carried with them large brown sacks across their backs, they emptied the contents onto the catapult. These were not stones as would usually be expected, instead they were heads. Unfortunate soldiers who had the unpleasant experience of fighting against the hoard. This was how Mortiss fought his battles, with psychological warfare. With an unintelligble grunt Mortiss ordered his catapults to release the zombified heads which hurtled over the city walls and into the city. Fear would sweep Wan like a plague when the fools inside realised what they were up against. Mortiss turned to his comrade, the ever faithful Xiahou Dun and began to laugh.*
"The next city we come across will surrender to us when they witness the terror we shall inflict upon these worms."
*At the top of his lungs the frenzied berserker shouted into the city as the heads kept on flying in.*
"YOUR MEN WILL BE KILLED! YOUR CHILDREN TAKEN AS SLAVES! YOUR WOMEN RAPED! YOUR CITY PLUNDERED! YOU WILL BEG FOR MERCY BY THE END! YOU HAVE ONE LAST CHANCE TO SAVE YOURSELVES FROM YOUR IMPENDING DOOM! SURRENDER TO US AND YOU MAY YET BE SPARED! REFUSE AND YOU SHALL ALL SUFFER!"
Sets up a simple battle formation Catapults heads into the city to cause fear and lower morale which had been brought with the army for this special occasion Gives Wan one more chance to surrender or face terrible consequences

??Qishan had watched as the heads were hurled into the city, each bag of leather splitting the contents amongst the crowds that had gathered, spraying them with a mixture of rotting flesh and old, crusted blood that had long since dried on the bodies. ??The smell – he had noted, was nearly as bad as the sight, and the people of Wan had cried in an uproar at these form of tactics, a few cried, a few winced at the sight – but the majority of them froze in sheer despair, as if asking the same question that must have been spreading across their feeble minds. Would their heads be the next cities horror? ??Qishan hadn’t the time, or the stomach to answer such a question, but he had ordered his soldiers to clear up the mess as fast as they could, dumping the heads and bags within the small tunnels that acted as their sewers. ??Next came the great shadows that cast their daunting presences over the city, huge rounded blobs that seemed to grow smaller and smaller as the citizens screamed and fell within a state of panic. Qishan gazed to the sky, noticing the first assault of the enemy catapults, and they smashed head first into the tower that sat close by the gate. Catapults had awful accuracy, and it seemed they had missed the city gates this time, but soon they’d strike – and the thought of the damage it would wrought sent shivers down his spine. ??Citizens had been crushed by the impact, or if not the catapult itself, then by the destruction of the tower itself, as it sent large rocks and stone platforms sprawling over the plaza beyond the main gates. The peasants had already began their chants, an old dialect Qishan had assumed had died in their years of peace, but now they was pissed – and Qishan didn’t know who to fear the most, his people or his enemies. ??“Your orders commander!” ??The voice had come from Qishan’s second in command, who had stood by the city, gazing down at the enemy and their vicious attacks. He had 2 catapults already set up, and more archers were rushing up the stairs before he could say anything else. ??“Destroy them..DESTROY THEM ALL – THEY DARE FUCK WITH ME IN MY CITY.” He hadn’t known he had born such strength, but the sight these barbarians had forced him to witness sent him in a frenzy, the peasants either joined him or mourned over the loss. ??“Archers, fire! – Catapults, fire!” ??His words echoed over the fields, and all of a sudden 500 Veteran archers had drew their bows, sending wooden shafts straight into the enemy as they moved into position. Then they dropped, and the Catapults were dropped, sending the steady platform that bore the boulders to swing forth, the shoot that held the boulder flung outwards, and a large rock went flying towards the enemies position. There was no use trying to aim or rely on such machines – but Qishan had heard the muffled cries of his enemies, whether by his archers or not seemed irrelevant now. ??The Archers had fired two volleys worth of arrows before their height advantage was nullified, and they returned wave after wave of arrows at the enemies, even if they were fewer – they were better trained and held protective slabs, whilst the enemy was in the open. ??Qishan gazed down at the crowd, using his shield to protect his body from any stray arrow, “YOU WILL ALL PAY FOR WHAT YOU’VE DONE – AS FOR YOU-“ He pointed a hand to Mortiss, although he hadn’t known his name. “YOU WON’T BE LEAVING THIS BATTLEFIELD YOU DOG!” ??Qishan left the walls, returning to the men below and gazing at them with pride, “Ready to fight for your country.” He had said, smiling. Catapults wreck the interior city, the peasants are either enraged or in complete despair. Archers are firing upon the enemy, and Qishan’s catapults attack back, although their targets are for you to decide. Qishan’s pissed, and wants Mortiss dead.

Losses will be calculated on a counter by counter basis, since I’m not a fan of dealing damage without you guys having the chance to post your defences. This means your losses will be calculated at the beginning of my next post, and then mine will be calculated at the end of my post. This is the (proper) way of doing it, so that its fair on everyone, I’m only telling you this now because when 2 kingdoms fight, loses should be done in the same way, so that no one is gaining hits automatically.

*Mortiss was actually glad that the enemy had not surrendered. The thrill of battle and the inevitable destruction that followed it meant that Mortiss and his loyal band of tribesman could have their fun with the citizens of Wan. The archery fire began to rain down upon the combined forces of the Wei generals and the Catapults had begun hurling large rocks down upon them. This was an annoyance for certain, one in which the always impatient Mortiss scowled at. If it was him defending the city he would have led his men out from the walls and attacked until dead. This was not the tactic (if you can call it a tactic) that most generals would employ, Mortiss was not like other generals which gave him an edge in the unexpected.*
*As the first volleys and stones approached Wei positions Mortiss screeched orders at his men. His shrill fiendish voice sent shivers down the spines of Dun's men but the savages were heartened by it, they loved their leader for the plunder, women and slaves he bestowed upon them. The force began to disperse into open order falling back slightly in a skirmish formation until the whole army was behind the Catapults which were now in the front line surrounded by the best most ferocious, experienced and brave troops Mortiss had at his disposal. These were the Elite Twin Swords hand picked by the berserk general and wielding replicas of those evil blades of dysfunction.*
*The Catapults having released half their supplies of heads into the city began to load the Catapult with the rocks and stones the troops had found on their way to Wan to prepare for the siege. These were flung at the city walls where the archers had been stationed. About 300 archers armed with hatchets entered the left forest and began to cut down pine trees. The Scouts also entered the forest spreading themselves out to spot an enemy approach through the forest*
Force pulls back in an open dispersed order behind the catapults which begin attacking the walls with rocks. Some archers enter the left forest and begin cutting down pine trees Scouts enter the forest

I didn't forget them, but archers on walls have a huge height/range advantage..so they would have fired at you first, before exchanging volleys, as i said..losses are calculated when you nest post, i will also be including the pwnage you'll be dealing with me. But yeah, remember that archers in the open are a hell of a lot weaker then veteran archers on a HUGE wall, since chinese walls arent 10 feet, their MUCH bigger but still..losses come on my next post, to keep the counter/counnter basis fair (sighs)

The archers pull back for safety from the rocks, only the ruffians flee due to there lack of experince, and the milita are a little harder to reorganize. Xiahou Dun rushes away from his calvary breifly to assit.
"Calm down Calm down! The rock has fallen back to your lines, fire!"
The archers of more experince are back up to the lines and get off there shots in the face of a first enemy volley. Most Milita and the ruffians come up and get off a later shot. And then the catapults let loose there loads again at the walls.
Meanwhile the general Yu Jin had magically morphed into.... some one else, but he wasn't doing much else besides watching his Senior general command his front.
Xiahou Dun's archers fire again after moving from the crash landing boulder. Due to some inexperinced units the volley is a little seperated into two waves. Catapults let loose on the walls again. What? Yu Jin is evoloving!

Qishan Loses 250 Veteran Bowmen 15 Unknown
Qishan had hoped for the initial assault to take place, when his archers would fire death upon the enemy, leaving carcasses scattered over the open plains where they’d be left to rot. It would have been a signal for his victory, he thought – so that no other army would come and approach him. Even the eagles would stay well away from the corpses, and then everyone would hear the name ‘Qishan’. ??But the plan was failing, and his archers had only dinted the army of ruffians as they acted almost as a barrier against the enemies much more experienced warriors. They swarmed the skies like peasants, sending shaft after shaft down upon them, almost as if this Wei army was destined to win to the point where they were blessed with flight. ??He could hear the whimpering of his soldiers, order long broken, and morale finally sinking – beneath him laid the heads of torn warriors, given to them by the barbarian that was Mortiss. It was a painful day. ??And he felt that it was only the beginning. ??“Fire again, do not let up, keep firing!” He cried the orders, although no one truly understood them from down below, he was staring up at his men, as arrows crashed into their walls time and time again. It had seemed that their initial advantage had been nullified, and now to many arrows taunted them from beyond – even the most experience of his group could not find a place to shoot without having received 5 arrows in the chest. ??He screamed. ??Arrows were eventually released, and more of his men stumbled back, it was late –maybe too late now, but the catapults had fired again, before the wall suddenly vibrated, forcing a few of the archers to fall to their deaths below – any survivors would have been killed instantly by the enemy, and they all stared to Qishan for orders. ??But he didn’t have any. ??The wall had crumbled at one side, and Qishan eventually forced his own unit there, to greet the enemies if and when it fell. Beyond he heard the muffled cries of attack, and he finally had an idea. ??“Have Unit 3 follow my command, we are going to bring the war to them, keep the city defended, and keep their archers busy!” ??The orders had been given, and Qishan – along with 1000 men left the West gate (north west from the original map, but I’ve got another map posted below) instantly, shifting their weapons and preparing for the march ahead. They all carried small leather bags, with food inside to keep them healthy for the war to come. As soon as they had left the gate, they quickly marched into the western forests, where Mortiss’ unit had began attacking the trees. ??Peasants were soon forced to carry bows, and another volley was thrown at the allies before they too were struck down by their wrath, and when Wei thought the archers must have been struggling, 300 Militia crossbowmen raced to the inner gates, using slit holes pre built to shoot their deadly weapons. ??Everything was ready, the catapults attacked, the archers continued their reign of tyranny and Qishan was preparing his onslaught – what else would go wrong for them, YOU DECIDE xD 300 peasants have taken the bow and have started attacking Wei’s archers. 300 Militia Crossbowmen have suddenly appeared, and are shooting at Wei. Qishan along with 1000 unknown soldiers have left the west gate and are moving into the western forests. Catapults fire again at the Wei soldiers. The enemy’s catapults hit the wall (marked grey on the map below). If that spot gets hit 2 more times, that section will fall, and the enemy will have its passage way.- Troops - 2185 UNKNOWN 1000 UNKNOWN (Unit 3) 250 Veteran Bowmen 300 Militia Crossbowmen 2 Catapults

*The mighty wall that protected the meaningless rabble had already begun to crumble at the onslaught. Skilled workers were quite clearly not in abundance in this backwater shite hole. The Catapults continued their barrage hitting the same section of defense repeatedly. Mortiss kept his mob in place despite their eagerness and impulsive nature to attack. They feared the repercussions of disobedience, their leader was a seeping demon, they dared not rile him. A few minor casualties were sustained to which the medics moved into the ranks to begin their shamanic healing ritual*
*The Scouts spotted the advance of the enemy into the forest and informed the archers who sent a man back to Mortiss for further orders. For now they took up a dispersed formation and spread out awaiting an attack to which they would be prepared.*
fairly self explanatory I think

When the enemy catapults rain down the archer ranks fall away from it again, to step up and deliver another massive volley at the same sugnificantly lesser troops upon the walls. The catapults let loose at the walls again and Xiahou Dun is doing the same rallying of his unit as before.... the enemy hand't changed much nether would Dun since his archer unit vastly outnumbered the enemy. The wall should fall soon under the 2 catapults were hammering it and mortiss had messaged Dun about handling something else.
Same Old Same Old, Sorry way to busy with more important things, like college, work, life and stuff.

I really must apologise for the delay, but events have forced me away from the computer. As compensation for having made you wait, I’ll speed up the procedure of the battle, and add a few extra losses on the NPC, not enough to change the tides – but enough to compensate for my incompetence.
Qishan Loses 150 Veteran Bowmen 100 Militia Crossbowmen 20 Unknown
??Qishan, along with the 1000 men that he had personally selected, spent several hours marching around the forests, taking their time in preparing the upcoming attack that would decipher whether the battle was won or lost. ??It was a risky manoeuvre at best, but one that Qishan had seen won. In his mind his enemies panicked and separated, and as his few advance soldiers reported back, his senses of victory had increased. The enemy had set up by the forest line, some still hacking away at wood whilst others remained in a scattered like formation, so as to avoid the deadly arrows of his army back at Wan. ??With that position also came difficulty, which Qishan was happy to exploit, when he turned to the city, he watched as two more catapults lunged forth, one smashing towards the forest line, taking out a barbaric warrior, that even when crushed – refused to scream. ??The other smashed towards Xiahou Dun’s camp, but from what he could see, there had been no calls or movements. ??So he turned back to this other barbaric unit. ??“Ready...NOW!” He threw himself out of the lines, charging for what seemed an eternity before he reached the end of the forest, bringing a sword down on whoever dared oppose him first. From the corner of his eye, he hungrily searched for this Mortiss, who he’d quite happily kill. ??At the castle, everything seemed tranquil, the catapults of the allies raised again, and this time the walls buckled, falling to the ground. His own army made preparations to counter the charging army, but for now – remained unseen from curious eyes. The arrows that soon followed struck away at his men, before their retaliation thudded against the enemies positions. The archery was now over and soon, he knew – the enemy would strike, and when they did, he’d have his own plans in motion. The city would be his and his alone. The 1000 Unknown troops turn out to be 500 Veteran Axemen and 500 Veteran sword and shield. The wall has crumbled – opening a path for the enemy. Qishan and his 1000 Vet’s have attacked Mortiss’ Flank.Troops 2165 UNKNOWN 500 Veteran Sword and Shield 500 Veteran Axemen 100 Veteran Bowmen 200 Militia Crossbowmen 2 Catapults

(Ok, seeing as though it was not specified how long it would take that force to move through the forest, I'm gonna leap ahead of time because I'm assuming, from the way you wrote that post that I would have time to give orders to my men before being attacked)
*As Mortiss continued his barrage against the city walls he began to chuckle. He was so confident in success he began to imagine how much fun he would have once inside the walls. Mortiss always had a strong aura of confidence around himself (As well as many other things) which in turn made his troops nearly fearless. To them any scheme that insane mind conjured was a sure winner and so certain of success.*
*As all seemed to be going swimmingly it was a shame the enemy would try and disrupt the party atmosphere with an attack. The archer sent for orders ran with all haste to Mortiss informing him of an attack through the forest. Mortiss was angered by the news, his eyes flashing a bloodshot red he drew his blades and lifted them above his head signaling his chieftains around him. The archer was sent on his way as fast as his little bendy legs could take him to give new orders to the isolated archer unit. Meanwhile Mortiss gave orders to each of his units which were simple enough even for the minds that had been fucked with mind altering substances to grasp.*
*The archer unit had remained watchful of the enemy and were prepared for an attack. The archer sent for orders from the boss gave them specific but basic commands, they were to scatter. Hardly the most ingenious piece of tactical nouse but Mortiss knew his ruffians were not reliable enough to trust with anything complex. So the barbaric archers, bare chested, woad covered and brandishing hunting bows split the unit of 300 into small clusters of 30 men. These men spread themselves out using the trees and undergrowth as cover and under no circumstances would engage the enemy but to keep out of reach, weaving and hiding.*
*The main body of troops which was still in a loose skirmish order began to move away from the forest exit aiming to be 500 yards away. Horse archers were used as cover in case of an unexpected attack, they remained in position just 60 yards from the forest entrance spread thin along the edge bows ready and prepared to flee. The walls had now crumbled but this did not interest Mortiss for the moment. He had time enough to enjoy himself in all the finer things in life like rape and plunder after the battle was over. His men whose very nature impelled them to assault were not thrilled at the prospect of their allies taking the best plunder for themselves. Despite this they obeyed, they knew they could always steal, mug and threaten Xiahou Dun's men into giving them what they wanted.*
*With the horse archers used to protect their flank the army moved as fast as they could. The whole army was moving to Mortiss' desired position and his catapults had to be moved as well. This was made easier by Mortiss himself with his personal band of elite twin swords pulling these machines along with the artillery men who usually undertook this task. Assuming all went to plan Mortiss would have been set away from the forest entrance but well within sight. His 1300 archers spread loose in a line. His lancers split into two groups of equal size placed on each flank with Mortiss himself in the center of the bowmen taking personal command of the elite twin swords who were protecting the catapults behind the line. The crossbows stood directly in front of the elite unit closely packed, kneeling and standing as appropriate to give as sharp and furious volley as possible.*
(I guess its up to you Steve whether or not you think my main force would have the time to set up this formation before being confronted. Its not much of a distance but it would involve changing formation and moving the catapults. My opinion is that they would have time but thats my own personal bias so I wont say they are in that formation in case you think they would be forced into confrontation before hand.)
The catapults cease fire once the wall is down The 300 archers separate into small units moving and hiding through the forest so as to avoid engagement The main force begins the process (or finishes?) of changing formation moving away from the forest entrance using the horse archers to protect their rear and they do this
Troops 2 Catapults 1600 Ruffian Bowmen 200 Veteran Crossbow 680 Militia Horse Lancer 1000 Militia Horse Archers 300 Elite Twin Swords 100 Scouts 90 Medics
(Exactly the same as when the battle started. I have not lost more men than my medics can deal with yet)

"Now Catapults fire inwards onto the innards of that city."
Rocks flew onto the unknown hord inside the city. The Bowmen prepred another volley, and after another doggy dodgeing of catapult fire Xiahou Dun reogrouped them and lead the volley.
"Calvary now!"
The breif order was given with a movement of his scimitar at the walls. Then Dun supring his own horse foward with his calvary following him closely. Appearing to make a break for the break in the wall the suddenly turned and the horsebowmen let loose a mid-range volley upon the archers on the wall to ensure they'd be finished by this and the regular bowmen's volley.
The bowmen dogdge rocks and fire again! The calvary move in closer so the horsebowmen can get off a good shot to! That npc still dosen't have a name!

that is bull shit!
If you cant do the battle then don't take off our troops which we may not have lost. Instead just surrender and allow us to keep the troops we never lost.
Getting 100 ruffians of our choice does not make up for that.
