The banquet was going surprisingly well for the young Liu, no one had really realised he was here and it was quite nice; for no ill words had yet been hurled at him. Shan wanted to see if he could see the two Lords of T'se, Sun Yuan Ci and Sun Liao, only hoping that they would not be the ones to throw abuse his way. Confidence grew and grew within the young boy as his placing with Wei Yan seemed to drift away, but neither the two seemed to realise. Shan was dressed in the finest silks found in Luoyang, adorned in a vibrant green that had dashes of maroon, symbolising the Han banners and a dragon adorned the entire embroidery; linking him to the Emperor Gaozu and of course, Liu Bei. No one had spoken a word to Liu Shan yet, which brought his mind to rest as he sipped a small amount of wine to calm the small nerves that were brewing in the pit of his stomach. Shan had not heard of other Lords arriving, no doubt Cao Cao would arrive in the most grandest way possible.. Sun Jian? He would appear and proclaim himself the Tiger and disappear into the banquet. However, Liu Bei? He would sent another on his behalf, the young Liu was informed of his self detainment in Chengdu.
How things can quickly change. An attendant near Shan felt it their duty to inform him that Shu had finally arrived, the shock moved down his spine, not knowing truely what to think... Zhang Fei?!. The young Liu's heart began to pound quickly and with force, the feelings he had on the battle field coming back; where was Yan Yu? Wei Yan?.. Soon the attendant had spoken the word 'Liu Bei', who soon after vanished into the banquet to serve wine to the guests. Shan could not move, now there were steps that were between himself and his father. The very man he had not layed eyes on since the day he was hurled to the ground, the young Liu's eyes could not see Wei Yan and wanted Yan Yu to help. The pain in his chest was getting worse, his body once again began to shake with nerves and soon he felt his legs slowly moving to the gates.. Shan wanted to get out of here, or hide..
But his legs decieved the mind and Liu Shan found himself standing at the top of the steps, looking down the entrance to the banquet...There he was, waiting for the attendant Liang Xun to give him the credentials to enter and a girl was by his side. Had Liu Bei replaced his mother? Trying to replace him?.. Were Hao and Yu right that he meant nothing to his own father? The pain began to increase, effecting the young Liu's breathing. His eyes began to water, no tears would fall but it was clear they wanted to. It would not be long until Liu Bei and his female partner would be near, Liu Shan could not escape; the only way out was down the steps.. Past Liu Bei. Help!.. Yan Yu!.. Wei Yan! No words could escape his lips as the fear he felt was far worse than what he felt with Zhang Fei, it was the man who did not love him..hated him so much that he felt the need to dash his head against the floor, then to abandon him.
Shan did not think about his attire, the sun's light would make the vibrant colours more vivid.. the green and maroon clear colours of Shu and the Han, the dragon even more so fo the 'Liu' family. Where the young Liu was standing, was clear of crowds and if Liu Bei looked up while making his journey up the stairs Shan would be the first thing he spotted. Liu Shan's eyes did not leave the being of his father, now he would pay the punishment once again.. To see the eyes that harboured no love or affection for him.. Merely unwanting, disgrace, shame and..hate. "...F-Father?.." All the words that Shan could muster. Yan Yu had to arrive now, or Wei Yan to find Liu Shan.. That is all he wished for, to protect him from that man who would soon be using that very sword to hurt him. As a statue Shan was now a young boy again, not being able to comprehend what was going on or what was going to happen, tears had now been given allowance to fall; the pain was becoming overbearing.. Soon Liu Bei would be infront of this wreck Liu Shan, his fate? Only Liu Bei knew...

As she rode up with Liu Bei some how she felt like she was not sure what to expect out of this. He had asked her to come and when he did Qing had been a bit shaky about it but he had requested for her to come. Yes she could of said no but this was something important and he had asked her to it so something in her had told her to say yes. Gently sliding off the horse Qing was now dressed in a green dress and her hair was up as she looked at were she was about to enter. Shutting her eyes she took a deep breath, yes none of them were going to eat her alive but she had not even been in his force for a day.
So what would they think of a women that shows up with him that they have never seen before and they would probably have a lower look about her. Standing up more straight she brushed herself off, she was here to represent something that she believed in not to impress all of them. If they did not think she was a wise decision to bring she intended to make them change there minds she hoped at least. "Your welcome" Qing said glancing at him for a moment and she rested her hands on her sides. Walking in she stood there next to him looking around, she had to admit that this was really nice.
Smiling to herself she followed him in and there was a bit of a nervous look to her face but Qing had never been to this sort of thing before at least not without her bodyguard. He of course was always lurking around when she needed him so she just needed to stop worrying. Taking in a deep breath she erased whatever nervousness she felt and that just left her with a normal, cool, confident look. Every once and a while she had to remind herself of why she was there because sometimes it would escape her mind for a moment. Any sort of nervous feeling she had Qing would simply have to deal with them and just go along with it as it was.
Looking around the room she could tell from the different colored robes that all of the men were either leaders of other kingdom or a trusted officer. What also scared her slightly was that she was only about eighteen and the fact that some of these men had been around for years and knew what they were doing. Qing liked to believe though for her age that she was smarter and more capable then most girls at that age. All they knew of her was her appearance at the moment and that was the last thing that Qing wanted them to go by. Then she heard the words father being said and her gray eyes glanced to someone at the top of the stairs.
When she realized that it was directed to Liu Bei she did not want to lose the composure she had and merely stood there. If that was his son though then where was the wife? Qing did realize that tragedy did sometimes fall upon people but he had never mentioned it. Of course how could she expect him to tell her something like that after all they barely knew each other for all that long it seemed. Standing there she waited to see what was to happen next, of course she really hoped that he did not treat his son like her father treated her.

He actually came. It seems the coward is not without his ploys, thought the Beast as he gripped tight his spear. The King of Han Zhong had came to Ye, even walked right into the banquet hall, and not given him a passing glance. The Beast of Chang An had been standing right beside the door. He'd been within arms reach of the Cowardly King, and didn't recieve any acknowledgement. It sent a bit of rage into his heart, but it was quickly subdued. Then there was the new woman with him. She wasn't at the palace when he had come. She wasn't even around. Maybe she was ill or with child, but then again...
The Cowardly King has already shunned one child, why would he want more? No, she is probably a wench meant to make him better in the public eye. Worthless... thought the Beast, letting his grip loosen a bit around his spear. Where is Master Jiang Wei though? Could the mind have gotten wise to the coward and left? Hmmm.. No, he's too full of morals still. He'll learn soon enough.
The mind of the Beast raced from thought to thought until something pulled him back to reality. It was his second, Liu Shan. The boy was stumbling it seemed, nearly failing at the sight of his father. This was something the Beast could not stand, but he'd been given strict orders to not bare arms against the King of Han Zhong. Who would dare command a beast? No one, but out of respect his spear was stayed. The young boy passed him by, walking outside. Maybe he just needed fresh air, but he didn't return quickly. In a matter of moments, the Beast was outside.
A firm hand came down respectfully upon the shoulder of the boy. The Beast of Chang An bit back his rage and forced a smile. He hated seeing anyone so controlled by others, the main reason he'd taken so much interest in Liu Shan.
"Imperial Nephew." stated the Beast sternly, giving the boy's shoulder a reassuring squeeze before continuing. "One Cowardly King cannot break the binds that tie you to this country. Come on back inside. I believe the emperor's of old never backed down from a challenge. That is all this is. Another challenge. I see no Jiang Wei. No one else in Shu is worth fearing, and while my spear is here, not even Jiang Wei is worth fearing. Understood?"
The Beast did not wait for an answer to the rhetorical question. He didn't wait for anyting. He had said his piece, and now, he was walking back inside. Once inside, he walked over and sat down exactly opposite of Liu Bei, an uncanny determination on his face. He knew something... He had something... Or maybe he was just confident that Liu Shan would come support him. either way, he looked prepared to march out against the whole of China... And survive...

The envoy bowed low to Sun Yuan Ci, one of only a few remaining lords with the power to possibly unite the land. As he said though, the envoy, it was a long shot for anyone to truly take hold of all China. Did Yuan Ci really have the ability and following to complete such a monumental task?
Lords from across the land started to arrive and it seemed that maybe peace was possible. If there was to be anyone that would want such a state, it would be the Imperial Uncle, Liu Bei, who had just arrived. Word had it that Sun Jian was also present inside Ye or was going to attend. Not much could be said for Cao Cao and that did not surprise the Golden Horde envoy who hated Mengde as much as Mengqi did. Lucky for Cao Cao that Ma Chao did not go as the former would have been cut into little pieces and air mailed back to Xu Chang. Well, by way of carrier pigeon or something like that.
"Hmmm, my lord?" the envoy stated, turning to look over his shoulder as Sun Yuan Ci addressed him once more. He was leaving, to head back to Xi Liang, but stopped to say some final words to the T'se leader.
"Ma Chao has settled down with a most angelic being. Her name is Xing Cai, formerly of Shu, and the two have decided to live out their days in the capital. Well, that is, until war is upon them."
The envoy knew all too well that Mengqi was now hated, especially after the battles of Qing Ni and Chang An. It would only be a matter of time before one of the powerful lords would decide to take Xi Liang for themselves. When they attacked, if they attacked, they would find a mighty army still left to deal with. Ma Chao had declared the Golden Horde no more and its expansion was now something of the past. However, he would defend it with his life and the remaining power of his former glorious forces.
"I shall tell my lord, if you would like, that you were asking for him. I have overheard him on a few occasions mentioning your name along with the likes of Lu Bu and Guan Yu. Certainly, if you ever wished to speak with him he would give you the time" he said, bowing once more to Sun Yuan Ci before moving toward the door. He really had not intentions of staying and his only mission was to report of the Golden Horde's disbanding.
Ma Chao was now available, for audiences, but his service in another force was not likely.

After an uneventful, if not slightly awkward given who Mancheng's traveling partner was, journey; the two men and their escort arrived at Ye. The city was once owned by Benchu, but that was quite a while ago. Now, it was in the possession of T'se, who rebuilt the place after it had been burned severely. A similar story to Luo Yang, with it's differences, of course; Ye had been built up much more efficiently than the corrupted capitol was. As they approached the guards, Mancheng offered them a slight bow of the head. "Greetings men of Ye, I am Li Mancheng of Cao Cao's forces. I have come here this day to attend the banquet being held." He turned motioned his head slightly to Yan Yu. "...And this is Yan Yu, my traveling companion. Shall we be allowed entry?"(Shitty, I know. I'm sick, so fuck you guys. )

Being one of younger age and not a lot of wisdom as the Lord of Shu, not demeaning towards himself in anyway just simply stating the truth though he would not let the anguish of others demean him aswell, remaining calm would and is the number one objective.
Not on also to notice his surroundings there was in the far distance his ‘’son’’ which there was a whole other story too. There was something about Chan that he hasn’t revealed anywhere else or to anyone else but his brothers. There was another column of steps just before the main banquet area, turning towards Qing he simply looked at her not trying to be obvious with his commanding approach he embraced her moving his lips over towards her ear.
Seeing this it would look less obvious, just that his lips were just before her ear he took a deep breath the next things he muttered so only Qing could hear‘’Qing, I must confess, yes that is my son but he is adopted, I had a blood brother that died very early after Chan was born. Naturally he got the Liu name through him but with his original mother and father both dead or dying on my brothers death bed, he asked that I raise Chan’’. Slowly taking a pause he shifted his weight towards another leg and continued.
Placing his lips just before her ear once again, ‘’He thought of me as a father and I did nothing but love him as any parent would, thus my age there is no way I could be only a few years older than what he is now, It would be theoretically impossible that he would be my legitimate child. Thus ends the story that I have hidden from everyone but my sworn brothers. You must not tell anyone of this.’’ He then took a few steps back looking at the crowd as they were coming in for the Banquet that was almost ready to start. From the talk of the crowds the people said that a Wei representative had arrived and the main course of business would soon be dished out.
One last thing before he took her away to the banquet tables placing once again his lips close to her ear ‘’That man staring at me, Wei Yan. He has caused me grief before but I don’t tend to let me do that again, please Qing. Even if he barks threats at me I shall remain in my seated position until a pointed object is on me is when ill I will turn to you for assistance.’’ To make anything that had may look obvious to anyone looking at the young lord he went around to the side of her head and kissed her cheek so nothing would seem obvious.
He wasn’t sure why but it took awhile for him to remove his lips from her cheek hoping she wasn’t feeling uncomfortable, he stopped and removed himself from her body, He looked around and everyone that was suspicious went back to their business and walked off, but it was time for him to get to the banquet along with Qing who he hoped wasn’t shocked.
Entering the main area for the banquet where the speaker was about to be announced he sat down and Wei Yan sat across the table from him, he then looked at the table and realized it was someone else seat that they were occupying he grabbed Qing by her hand and walked over towards another table that had his name on it. He then awaited for the speaker to speak.

The Calm Before the Storm Liu Bei had begun his journey up the stairs, faithfully following a melancholy looking woman, how could he replace his mother? She had not been soon placed within the ground and he had found another courtesan to fulfill his needs; did he pay his respects? No. Even though they both showed no affection to the young Liu, he did his duty as a son and made sure that the grave of Lady Gan was placed under faithful care. The young boy remained like a statue at the top of the stairs, tears rolling down his face and his eyes red, not with anger but the tears that he would refuse to fall. Every limb had became limp, lifeless and all the feelings that were created by Zhang Fei were appearing in different forms and far more harsher than before... Where was Yan Yu?.. If only the spirit of Huang Hao could come from the ground to give this poor boy some form of life again. The frame of the now destraught boy was in seconds of collasping once again, but as usual the Beast of Chang'An had came to Shan's aid. The feeling of the strong hand upon his shoulder brought his mind back to some form of focus, listening to every syllable of his words. Emperor Gaozu, even when up against the most feared being of his time, Xiang Yu, did not back down from him even when his frame was far weaker than his. Even his own wife, Empress Lu Zhi, was far stronger than he and she grasped the Han with ease. Emperor Wen, the most adored son of the Han and a man of great filial piety.. Emperor Jing, similar to the young Liu, easy manipulated but enjoyed a brief time of rule after Chao Cuo was no more. For the sake of the Imperial Family, he had to become strong, for the man whose title had no right of 'father' had turned himself against the Han and now ruled 'Shu' proclaiming himself 'King of Hanzhong'.. He was betraying the family that bestowed him the title of 'Imperial Uncle'. The words of Wei Yan would always be imprinted on the young boys mind.Suddenly the frame of Liu Shan began to shake, the constant fight of minds had begun and now became violent; trying to figure out the correct path.. trying to see what he should do. One glance at the boy and it would seem the young Liu was having a form of fit, the suffering eyes continuously fixed upon Liu Bei. As the Beast of Chang'An stood next to Shan, something surprising happened, the weak and frail hand of Liu Shan had took hold of the Beast's spear. The hand still shook, similarly as the body, though weak Shan gripped the spear with some force; espcially for Liu Shan. "I-I shall n-no longer s-suffer... b-b-because of y-you." The coarse whisper exploded from the once silent mouth of Liu Shan, for only Wei Yan to hear; this young boy had now had enough.. It's body could not cope with the amount of pain it went through just to function, the mindset of being so inferior and knowing that everyone saw him as a shadow. Without any warning, perhaps the Beast of Chang'An could sense this as being a man of war experience, but Shan suddenly bolted forward; Liu Shan had the intentions for striking down his own father with Yan's spear?! Indeed it was true, however, Shan was weak and propelled backwards as the hold of spear by the Beast was far too strong. Now sitting on the ground, Shan's eyes were something to experience; hatred, anger and fear? Such a thing was not within him anymore, while the hand remained tightly onto the spear. A Snake Within Grass Being forced to travel all the way from Luoyang was infuriating and by someone far younger than he was, the ministers would all laugh at him; if only they had their heads. Arriving in Ye he could tell that this city did not compare to Luoyang, however, the T'se had welcomed Liu Shan and would seem quite the ally for the young boy...meaning they would be the greatest of starters to gain control. This Li Dian, what form of worth does he have to become the ambassador of Wei? Where is this Cao Cao? Nonetheless, the most important thing was to locate Liu Shan quickly and try to get him away from anyone who would try to tear the bond that Yu had created.
As Li Dian announced them and requested entrance the snake had noticed green banners starting for the steps; Shu?! No, no, no, no..this was bad. Liu Shan was in there and without him, if any got close to the young Liu then his mind would be easily swayed. Hoping that the guards would be quick about things, Yan Yu tried to move in such a way that he could see who had come on behalf of Shu. Perhaps the snake would have prefered not to have looked, as it was indeed the Lord of Shu, Liu Bei. Everything could come crumbling to the floor if that boy become inclined to listen to his father's words. Silently Yu tried to scan the stairs to see which direction they were headed, but all was for naught when at the top of the steps were Liu Shan. What?! Yan Yu did not have much time for this stupid guard to give them entrance, the snake needed to go now and stop them from meeting; all of Huang Hao's work and his own would become void in only a few seconds. It would be clear to Li Dian if he looked in the same direction as Yan Yu was that something was worrying the minister.. But, did he know that Shan had just now tried to charge at Liu Bei with a spear? Of course not, for his age did not allow sight to be like it was and those actions were too far away for his eyes to make out. Li Dian on the other hand? His eyes could perhaps pick out the scene quite clearly...The Dragon Roars Shan did not know that Yan Yu had just arrived with Li Dian from the Capitol, his grip too tight upon the spear to even care. However, the Beast of Chang'An was about to move back into the banquet hall, meaning the hand fell from the spear as his giant frame disappeared. The young Liu was not informed that no violence was prohibited and in the state of mind he did not care. Remaining on the floor the distraught bow became a being of violence and rage, wanting his father to be struck down for every piece of suffering he went through..because of him.
The young Liu pulled himself to his feet and looked down the steps to where his father was starting to journey up. 'You are the Imperial Nephew'. The running words of Huang Hao and Yan Yu burning within his own mind, the one thing he could only comprehend perfectly; now even Wei Yan using the words, thrusting him forwards. As if an arrogant Emperor looks upon a peasant, Shan turned his eyes from his own father and followed Wei Yan... Anyone who witnessed this could imagine Wei Yan scolding the boy, however, it was as if the strength from within the Beast transferred into Shan; his eyes being an indication of this. Sitting next to the Beast of Chang'An, the young Liu waited to see Sun Yuan Ci or any other guest who may wish to speak with him; merely glad that Wei Yan was next to him...

Sun Liao makes his way into the now crowded banquet area, servants getting food for the generals and rulers alike, vassals and diplomats, chefs and other court folk scurrying in and out of the room. Sun makes his way towards the diplomat of Ma Chao and bows,
"Tell your lord Ma Chao that he can have his vassal back. Cheng Yi has proven to annoying to bear and seeing that your lord has dropped out of this battle for the land I can return his servant with no hesitation."
After this Sun makes his way to Wei Yan, watching the man berate and eye Liu Bei Sun wishes to make a more positive entrance.
"My dear friend Wei Yan, too long have I waited to meet you on better days, and here we are."
Seeing Liu Shan as well Sun nods in his direction,
"Lord Liu Shan your assistance was much appreciated in the battle, and from what I hear my lord wishes to speak to you about very important matters."
(Yeah, crap post, don't have a long time, but I killed a lot of birds with one stone).

~Under Moonlit Skies...~
*The palace of Ye was only days ago empty. Only days ago Sun Yuan Ci was stretched far to the west, brandishing the Crescent Spear against the Golden Horde and the tribes of the Qiang. Liang Xun was one of the few officials remaining, governing not only the city but the entire kingdom in his lords' stead. Sun Liao was also away, meaning the western kingdom was also defenseless. Because of this duty to the T'se Kingdom, he was now in the position he was, launching open the door and stepping forward into the banquet hall. All eyes were brought to him for a second, to see the grand posture and armor of the Captain of the Guard this night. Liang Xun brought his left hand up to his waist, where the shimmering steel blade rest. He placed his palm on the golden hilt as he began to stroll forth, passing Liu Shan with bow of the head, and Wei Yan with one as well. As he passed Wei Yan, however, he gave the man a stare that lasted a little longer, hoping that Wei Yan would mimic the gesture and in turn notice that this man was the same 'guard' that he lashed out on. Here, however, he would see respect.*
*Liang Xun stepped up to the throne, ceremonially placing his self at the right flank. He drew his sword and placed the blade's tip at the ground infront of him, each hand wrapped around the round golden hilt, as he scanned the scene before him. The hall was full to the point where one could not even find enough room to waver his or her arms, even if they were contracted. Guards of similar, yet not nearly as grand, suited armor were placed all around the banquet hall. Two at each table for the officials, and one at each kingdom's set of seats to act as a police in case any of these headstrong lords would find it necessary to attempt a strike at a potential rival. It was a good call, as it seemed Wei Yan and Liu Bei had a troubled past. This was only shown, however, when Liu Bei arrived. The King of Han Zhong made his way into the palace of the Phoenix City, with a lone young woman, and now looked to find seat at the round table of diplomacy. Sun Yuan Ci stepped forth to greet him. Surely, it was as welcoming a greeting as Liu Bei could expect.*[/i]
"Lord Xuande, King of Han Zhong, I look at your side and see no great Prime Minister Jiang Wei. I look at your side and see a young woman. I do not wish to doubt you or your ability, but perhaps it would have been a wiser move to bring a man who is fabled to be greater then Zhuge Liang, rather then one of your maidens. The yearning of a heart matters not in diplomacy, peace does not break dawn from the skip of a beat from a young lover's heart. This is unless, of course, Jiang Wei is to come as well. If this is the case, I wonder if it was by ill words of a misinformed messenger that three mouths of Shu arrive, or if it is by a careless disregard for uniformity between Shu and the other kingdoms. Nevertheless, your seats are there, your back to the grand pillar that stand this palace so tall."
*Zhiyun aimed Xuande on, sending a servant to retrieve a chair should Jiang Wei arrive and hurried him off before turning his attention to greet his cousin with a warm smile and bow. He led Liao to the seats of T'se, where he and Sun Liao would be the representatives. Wei's mouth had arrived in Li Dian and Yan Yu, and they were placed aside as well. The round table was now assembled. From the northern lands of Xi Bei, united under the silver banners of T'se: Sun Yuan Ci and Sun Liao. From the Central Plains, a military king marching armies unrivaled: Li Dian and Yan Yu. From the western Yizhou, sporting named fabled far and wide: Liu Bei and Xiaoli Qing. From the once-great walls of Chang An, a beast or a friend to all who meet him... gods pray by the latter: Wei Yan and Liu Shan. From the fertile lands of Jiang Dong, quaking the ground with the mass of their military: Sun Jian and Zhou Tai. Never in this lifetime or the last was there a meeting greater then this. The round table was placed at the center of the banquet, while hundreds of smaller tabled were placed around it, swarmed wit thousands of officials from the area.*
*Much had happened already, but dismissed it was as contrary to the point of this meeting. Sun Yuan Ci stood up, raising his glass as servants rushed around the table to fill the rest of the lords' cups with a fine red wine.*
"Lords of the land... Kings and generals of unrivaled might and wisdom, I thank you for coming. Even if nothing here is achieved, we may still call this banquet a success. Why is this? It is for the fact that I called for peace, and all of you have come. This meeting is not under the same circumstances that the last great meeting was. After Dong Zhuo was bested on the fields of battle, there were still hundreds of lords who looked to gain power from their ambition and their influence. I knew peace was still far from arms reach at that time. Now, however, that is not the case. Look around, my guests, my friends. Who is left. Who's ambition proved just, and who's proved vain? In a time when hundreds of fools would raise armies for a common goal of fame, there will be war. In a time when a small handful of the astute raise armies for a common goal of governance, then open a door when there may be peace.
"And here we are! Fallen is the golden-crimson spear and ambition of Ma Chao! Fallen is the tyranny of a black-hearted Dong Zhuo! All who I call villains are now dead or defeated. All who I call lords now sit here. So I now place my hand upon the door, which stands hundreds of feet tall, plated in gold and bejeweled with more treasury then any of our palaces can secure. But my strength and my dreams cannot push open this door alone. So I call for Sun Jian, who has recently returned to rule his lands and the people whom love him. The door, still dormant, requires me to call for a man who's genius far surpasses any I could dream to acquire in a past friend; Mengde. Sun Yuan Ci, Sun Jian and Cao Cao cannot push open this door, so we call upon the virtuous leaders of Shu. But this still does nothing. Stagnant the door remains, until Zhiyun calls for a great friend. Surely, if Wei Yan were to join this company, his might alone could budge this door. But this is where I can see no further, for this is where my dream merges into the present. The door I speak of stands before us now, figuratively in imagination of ourselves and of the people of the land.
"I push now with all of my might, and still can see no light emerge from the other side. I stand now, asking each and every one of you to join me, as we break the assemblies of our armies and unite as one central government of China. As strange as it sounds, it is not a mass of strength that can open this door but the unity of these men. My lords, what say you?"

The entrance was no less than flamboyant. It wasn't something the Beast personally enjoyed, but if it was something his friend Sun Yuan Ci thought needed, then he would oblige by sitting silently. That was until the guard from before passed him by and stared him down. Was this guard trying to proclaim dominance, the pack mentality in the Beast thought so. With the stare down came the challenging stare of the Beast. Needless to say, he wasn't budging on his opinion of the guard. It did not matter if it was Sun Yuan Ci himself who had belittled the envoy of Ma Chao, the Horselord had proved to be a man of reasonable strength, great honor, and upstanding virture... No one would dare speak against this man while the Beast still breathed. If this guard was looking to anything more then glare like a coward, he failed. A simple stare from one ignorant man would not make the Beast change, but the guard knew that. He had to have known that.
Then came the speech. The Lord of Ye was far better with words then any other. It wasn't something the Beast enjoyed partaking in, nor was it something he boasted great ability at, thought lately it seemed he'd done more of it then actually fighting. With a mundane sigh directed at no one but himself, he listened as respectfully as one could. That was, until the Lord of Ye was finished. He wants for me to ally with Liu Bei... For China? Never! But, what of the people? Rai, I know this is where you would take over... Can I rely on Liu Shan? No, he relies on me. I have to stand on my own feet. Then let us test the might of this Cowardly King, he thought as he rose to his feet, spear in hand.
"You wish for peace, my friend, Sun Yuan Ci? You wish for the Beast of Chang An to help you push open this door to a new China...? Hmmm... Very well. The people do not deserve anymore bloodshed, no matter who's name its in. I will aid in you opening this door. Though, it is far to heavy for even my strength, but I believe the courageous Liu Shan will help us as well. Maybe we would be so lucky as to get the blessing of the disciplined Zhou Tai, or the ever-ready Sun Liao, you own cousin. Yes, I believe these men to be true and strong. They will aid us in our ressurection of a united China."
There was a momentary pause as the Beast glanced around the room, his gaze falling to each man he'd named off, especially that of the boy that sat beside him. If ever Liu Shan wished to show himself to be a true leader, greater than his father, he had only stand up and give his support. Then, finally, as he finished, his eyes came to a rest upon those of Liu Bei. It was a challenge. A challenge to stand up and ally with the man who'd rather see you dead than any other man in the world... or stay sitting and prove yourself to be the fool everyone thought you to be.
"What say you?"

The speech of Sun Yuan Ci was compelling, especially to the far inferior Liu Shan, but something stuck in his mind.. What Sun Liao said before heading into the crowd 'I hear my lord wishes to speak to you about very important matters'? Sun Yuan Ci wishes to speak with him? What about? Such would wait was Wei Yan was the first to respond to the words of Lord of T'se, they were directed to all and then placed towards the young Liu; the then be placed at the feet of Liu Bei, who had now arrived into the hall. Yan Yu on the other hand quickly made himself concealed within the banquet so he could observe how the Imperial Nephew would react.. The only thing that boy would do is stay still upon that seat, no confidence yet and surely he would not do anything with Liu Bei in the room. How mistake he was..
In the silence that Wei Yan created came the Dragon, no one who would have expected; Liu Bei, King of Hanzhong to claim piece with T'se and aid to that of the land. No, before even the representatives of Wei and Wu could speak out popped Liu Shan. The very boy everyone doubted and would laugh at with even the mention of his name and courage. However, there he was standing beside Yan; the hate and anger being used in a way that the young Liu had never experienced before. "Lord Wei is correct, everyone must help to give the people what they deserve; without using false words to act upon." Shan's eyes directed to Liu Bei, hoping that he was watching his very son surpass every prediction he had; hurling him to the ground when young? Even Yan Yu was becoming shocked with what the young Liu was doing, where did such come from?!
Something had happened within Liu Shan, he was not tripping up on his own speech or even stuttering making himself look an incompetent wreck; though such was still true, it should that something was within the young boy, something that wished to be free. "Lord Sun, the very men who follow me shall always be ready to fight to open the doors in which the people can find solace.. Solace from the bloodshed, the suffering.. Battles do not need to be the answer, for I, Liu Shan have already shown this; by gaining the city of Bei Hai for the honourable Lord Sun Yuan Ci, without raising any weapon." The Imperial Nephew wished to have a moment of arrogance, something that he had never felt before or even gained. The very words made him proud of himself and now his father would see the true son, not of him, but of the Han.. of Emperor Gaozu.. The simpleton was blossoming into a Dragon.
"Within this cup I place wine, for everyone who wishes that the bloodshed halts and that the land can once again smile to take a sip from, honour those who have fallen.. honour the families who are suffering because of war.." The actions of Liu Shan were done through the anger that harboured within, a sense of having to prove himself merely gave him the confidence to speak in such a manner; to show everyone, especially Wei Yan and Sun Yuan Ci, that he was indeed the Imperial Nephew. Taking a large cup in hand, the young Liu poured the wine into the container and took a small sip of the liquid. After performed this, Shan handed it to Wei Yan to do the same and hopefully, it would work to all the officers and to end with the last sip of wine being of Sun Yuan Ci's.
This was the day in which the Dragon bared it's fangs, the snake Yan Yu not truely believing that this was Liu Shan.. The Liu Shan who would placed his tongue out when copying large amount of characters from scrolls, one who fainted at the sight of Zhang Fei.. If only a spiritualist or shaman entered would he see a vision of the green dragon appear coiled around the young Liu, showing his hidden courage; the very strength that he drew from the anger.. that he drew from Wei Yan...

Sun Liao somewhat rushed to his seat sees that there is something bigger here then simply peace talks. His cousin was about to do something huge and lo and behold, a cry for all arms to be dropped and peace is proposed. Sun sits intently and watches as Sun Yuan Ci goes through his speech, each word leading up til at last, the proposition was put on the board. Would these lords give away their lands at such a whim? Would they sacrifice their own elite status's to bring a better good to the land, or would these lords dismiss this and show their true colors.
As a man of the people and virtue, wouldn't Liu Bei forfeit his land and men for the better good? Sun Jian, his motives unknown, will he be willing to join with T'se to bring peace, if not what is his excuse? Li Dian, not in charge of Wei, but can he truly answer for his lord Cao Cao. If so would he be willing to give up their newly conquered lands to unite these lands once again? Would these lords be willing to end the warring and the bloodshed to bring peace to these lands as so many desire, or will ambition and greed drive them to decline. Sun Liao watches as Wei Yan speaks of his support, mentioning Sun Liao he nods to the lord and continues listening, expecting a lord of one of the kingdoms to speak instead Liu Shan makes his presence known and heard. Speaking surprisingly clearly and confidently, Sun sits impressed with the you lord. Looking around the room yet again, this seemed to be a good chance for Sun Liao to speak, standing up Sun begins,
"My lords, listen to what my cousin says, it is easy for myself,Wei Yan and Liu Shan to show our support, but we are not rulers. Will you show your desire for the better good of the country, or will your true intentions be found at this banquet, choose wisely. But with Wei Yan and Liu Shan, my sword is where it has always been and will always be."
Sun Liao turns to his cousin,
"My cousin, my sword and shield are yours to command, it seems we might get our chance to unite these lands and better it for the generations to come."

Post by Xiaoli Qing on Sept 16, 2008 21:20:09 GMT -5
Feeling him embrace her Qing almost felt like screaming, this was not the place or time for him to be hugging her! Then she realized he was trying to tell her something and she gave a sigh, "you don't have to explain yourself to me" she said in a whispered response as her dark eyes looked around the room. Why couldn't of he just told her this like a normal person and not done what he had just done, this was just making things look worse. Qing's goal was to make these people think that she was not the wrong choice, that he had made the right choice in bringing her. Not because he thought she was just a pretty girl he could carry around with him to make him look good.
"This is a meeting of people trying to find peace right...so don't let emotions rule over you" after all she did not want anyone holding a sword to each others throats because they simply hated each other. Even if they did hate someone in the room, that did not mean that they could not be mature for once in there life. This was not a meeting about simple feuds that happened outside of this building. Qing did realize it was a hard thing to do for people after all they were just human but the people here were leaders, people looked at them for hope that they could not find in others lives. These were the people that others looked for when they needed just the smallest glimpse of light.
"Fine I won't tell" Qing said shaking her head, sometimes things were better if they were untold. "Well then you just have to prove to him that he does not have the power to do that to you, after all it does not matter anymore, were all here for the same reason". Then he kissed her cheek, keeping a cool face she merely looked off to the side as if it was nothing but something in her was boiling, was he insane. This was the last sort of impression that they needed to leave on these people, that he had picked her just because of the way she looked or because of some romance. He was letting emotions control him and that was something that if he kept doing this would surely lead him down a road he did not want to go down.
As he grabbed her hands she felt like a little lost puppy and slipped her hands away from his, Qing did not need to be lead around like that. Qing of course was not stupid and when Sun Yuan Ci walked up she gave a small bow as she stood there keeping her mouth shut for the moment. Listening to what he was saying she looked over and bit her lip for a moment, wanting to say anything. "Everyone has to start somewhere and I ensure you that I will show you that just because I am a maiden that none of you will ever have a reason to doubt me". Giving another bow she waited to see what Liu Bei would say, it was not like she went off on him or anything after all she did have more control then that.
No one started out as great as they grew to be, and starting somewhere was the only way you could get anywhere in life of course she was not going to stand by and just be thought that Liu Bei took her along for some sort of love interest. Qing would not have come if she had known that, but she felt like she had something to prove to all of these people in the room. All she had been ever known as was a pirates daughter, nothing more and nothing less. Qing did now want to be more and now that she was somewhere where she could prove so there was no time like the present. After thinking about it for a while any little feelings of nervousness went away from her and now she was ready for whatever got thrown at them.
Sitting there she crossed her legs and turned her full attention to Sun Yuan Ci, silent as she listened. Qing did not bare to speak a word, to ruin the speech that was going on at the moment. As he talked Qing's eyes shifted around the room to see all the different people sitting around the table. Some she knew were not the greatest friends but Qing in her mind hoped that all petty differences aside they would be able to come together. If anyone of them were going to make it any farther then they already had that was what was going to have to happen, no matter how much some of them wished it did not have to be that way.
Qing watched as the others sat there calling upon Liu Bei and she merely sat there looking at him, as much as she would of liked to speak this was his time. She was not going to stand up and prove him to these people, he had to prove himself to the people that were there. To Wei Yan which she did not see why they could not get along, but Wei Yan appeared to be a man that would prefer action to be taken over words. This was the time for Liu Bei to show them that whatever effect they had on him before was washed away and all there was left to see was pride. Qing nor anyone else in Shu could prove such a thing, only Liu Bei could prove himself, no more hiding behind someone else.
Taking her glass in her hand she felt the engravings on it as her finger tips gently hit it. Taking it she looked over at the young man who had suggested they take a sip and she merely gave a smile as Qing did. Whatever resentment he had towards Liu Bei she still did not want him to hate him for being there with his father, she did not want to think she was trying to replace his mother. That was nothing of the sort, and plus Qing did not want to let any sort of emotions get in the way of kingdom matters. Gently she rested her glass back down on the table and looked around at the other people sitting around it.

Sun Jian leaned backwards silently. He lifted his glass, and filled it half-way with wine. As he swirled it around softly, he took in the oaky aroma. His eyes were closed, and he allowed himself to fully immerse himself in hsi thoughts. He lifted the glass to his mouth, and as the nectar went down his throat, his eyes opened. He was caught in a morale bind. True, this could possibly bring the peace he desired for China... but what about his own ambitions? His own dreams, his desires? Was all his work to be for naught? Was his journey to be pointless?
As Sun Jian looked to Zhou Tai, he seemed to also be in a state of turmoil. Zhou Tai had worked so hard to keep Sun Jian's empire aloft, and yet... why, all of a sudden, did he want to give it up? Both men were so lost in thought, the sounds of the others speaking were murmers in the background.
Then, Sun Jian spoke before Zhou Tai could confer with his lord. "Lord Sun Yuan Ci, the respect I hold for you is more than you could possibly fathom. For you to set aside your own ambitions, which I am sure you held at one point, for the better of China is something not everyone can do.
"It is true, Sun Liao, that the words of alleigence with T'se roll easily off of your tongue, but your decision does not hold the fate of thousands. I do not see how I, even as a ruler, am fit to make such a decision for my people without first consulting them. It seems you, Sun Yuan Ci, are asking me to give up the rule of the citizens I have fought so hard to protect. I love my people and they, in return, show me gratitude, respect... but above all, I can truly say they love me. Perhaps it is because of what Zhou Tai was able to do in my absence, but either way they are dedicated to their land. And for me to simply hand over the very thing I would die for... I hope you can understand where I speak from. Laws are one thing, but a complete change of their lives is a whole other subject... To change my peoples very way of life seems a bit dictator-like. I would feel better if I could speak with my people after this monumental banquet and return within a week to finalize this proposal.
"However, I do think that what you propose is what the people of China need, and I support it. Again, I feel that this is a decision the people themselves should make, rather than a single ruler. It is true we all rule because of our people support and that we rule them... This is simply a strange situation I was not expecting. I was under the impression we were all hear to speak of peace. Although what you propose is the highest degree of peace, I am still a bit... weary of such new things brought about with such short notice.
"I must request more information. First of all, this central government you speak of. I assume that what you propose is merging all of China and having a council of lords rule over it, am I correct?" He said, still seated. He was not necessarily weary of Sun Yuan Ci, but simply of a proposal as new and... different as this one.
Zhou Tai was still deep in thought, his brow slightly furrowed in an thoughtful frown. He had not yet touched his wine, or moved at all for that matter.

*Already it was obvious that Wei Yan was as just as his fables preceded him to be. Immediately he shot up, immediately he supported his ally and friend. And it was in the presence of such good fate that Liu Shan found the courage to not only speak a word without stuttering, but also give a speech capable of raising spirits of an empire. And perhaps it would. Zhiyun gave a smile to the Imperial Nephew, lowering his head to bow and salute the young man, before turning and doing the same to his cousin Liao, who had also shown support as was expected. However, also as Sun Yuan Ci had expected, not all of the lords agreed. Sun Jian, the mighty lord eldest of the Sun Family rose in a peaceful act of defiance. He spoke his rebuttal, which showed the hall that he was not opposed to peace, but rather opposed to such a forceful change in ways. He proposed a democratic rally for peace, rather then the form of representatives of single men that was currently in use.*
"You are the ruler of Wu, Master Sun Jian, because you are loved. Generations of your ancestry have lived and died, each of them the same. Your name itself brings the idea of success to the common man's mind, and even the wealthy or the lord's mind. When I hear the Sun Family spoken about, the first thing I think about is the mighty and witty Sun Tzu and his writings that are still effective today, and shall be for the hundreds of era's to come. The second thing I think of is chivalry, and honor. Never have I met a Sun who stays from what is right, and for this, forever has the Sun family ruled Jiang Dong. And with this ruling comes great responsibility, Master Jian. For you see, as much as I am for the individuality of the people, it is indeed your choice. Do not apply diffusion of responsibility in this case.
"You are the Lord of Wu, King of Jiang Dong. Your people love you, your people look to you to make decisions that will prohibit their suffering. A decision as such that would agree with all that I speak of. I understand your inner quarrels with my ideas. You believe that we will be defenseless. But I pray you to reword and reconsider my vision. I speak of disassembly of all military in a metaphorical manner. Rather then putting away all weapons and sending every soldier home, we shall unite. I would burn every silver flag with the crescent of T'se written across it if it was for the sole purpose to raise another of a United Kingdom of China. I will offer my greatest soldiers, as will you, and as will every lord. This unit shall offer the protection of the country when called upon. So we shall be safe from invasion, and safe from chaos. An era of peace would reign until foolish lords, perhaps of our own kin, grow greedy without seeing the faults of past tyrants. But until that day would come, we would see days where the sun shined brighter then ever before, and the wind more gentle and the horizon shall be clear for miles."
*Sun Yuan Ci had felt that his words would change the mind of the man who shared his name, yet had more tales to it then he could hope to acquire. Zhiyun scanned the round table. Many had spoken that he expected to in the same response he prepared for. Wei Yan, Sun Liao, and Liu Shan agreed, while Sun Jian agreed in a less convenient manner. Li Dian was yet to speak, likely because of the lacking presence of Mengde. And Liu Bei said nothing, his confidence resting seemingly on the encouraging words of the lady accompanying him. Zhiyun's eyes shot to Xuande's at long last. This was a moment he had been waiting for. A battle of wits with a man many claimed to be a hero, yet Zhiyun could not trust. It was here and now that Sun Yuan Ci would see the virtue or cynicism of Liu Bei.*
"I have heard much today, yet Xuande remains silent. Riser, King of Han Zhong, and tell me? What say you on these matters of national peace?"
