Name: Yu Xueman(Snowy Grace)
A.K.A Mourning Snow
Horse Name: Ma, plain and simple.
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 112 lbs.
Appearance:
Xueman is a warrior, through and through. Slender though firmly muscled, her skin is a pale cream color and her hair is a light brown in color, unusually plain though nonetheless beautiful. Medium in length it is often held up ornately with coruscating bands of pretty materials and pins of various shapes and design. Her eyes are large, heavily lashed, and prettyShe is often garbed delicately, and regally, though on the battlefield she has been known to don appropriate clothing. In either case she is usually clothed in white and red, with a pervasive flowery theme.
Weapon 1:
Nail & Needle - This is Xueman's main weapon, and a bit of an unorthodox one at that. Simply put it is a large Guan Dao with a gilded pole. At the end of the pole is a large hoop through which a chain is looped. The chain extends about fifteen feet and ends in a curved blade with a short handle that resembles a Kama. The weapon is very plain, mostly designed for combat rather than ornament. The blade of the Kama is highly serrated for maximum damage, and the blade of the Guan Dao has two deep serrations to hook onto enemy weapons and further to disarm them. Taking into account the size of this weapon, it is often only used for medium ranged attacks, being entirely defensive as far as close quarters are concerned. Should it become necessary, the chain can be detached from the end of the pole, but unfortunately this makes using the Kama in conjuction with the Guan Dao next to impossible.
Weapon 2:
Thunder Clap - This is Xueman's secondary weapon, a large steel fan. When closed it is a foot long, and opened, it is the size of a small shield. The folds are plated steel, connected by a meshing series of small hooks designed for flexibility and strong binding. This weapon is designed for defensive measures, have very little offensive potential aside from blunt damage. The identifying feature of this weapon, however, is not a visible one. When it closes, the weapon produces an extremely loud burst of noise, enough to rattle the balance of the unsuspecting. This weapon is not typically used, brought out only against tenaciously close quarters based enemies.
Personality:
Xueman is a highly dynamic character, though has several key traits that identify her in particular. Mostly introverted, she's highly skeptical, and not incredibly imaginative. She has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and instead of making jokes people laugh at she has been known to make jokes that start fights, if they can even be called jokes at all. She is highly critical of idealism, and has little faith in beliefs of any kind. She is known to be very attached to thinking in hyper realistic terms, with little hope and a a large amount of logic. Opportunism is a key factor in her attitudes towards warfare, and she has little regard for the rules of others or her own honor.
Despite these factors, she trusts easily, and is very naive emotionally and socially, proving that she is still quite young and inexperienced. Unsurprisingly, she is incredibly vain.
History:
Born far from civilization and the trivialities of war, Xueman was raised on philosophy and theory, knowledge being a second nature to her. At a young age she was quite spirited, taking to martial arts, seeing it as a key to unlock hidden knowledge that she couldn't otherwise attain. Her parents, not having a son to carry on their lineage, and being quite eccentric in regards to tradition anyway, encouraged this behavior. So it was here that in her childhood she was prepared for a warring age, with little real world experience on the subject, knowing only what she learned through her studies.
Thoroughly satisfied, she had but one aspiration at her young age. Fortune. All her young life she had been impoverished, and she had always been determined to never want for anything. So it was only natural that she set out to acquire this goal, seeing as how she had a realistic chance at attaining it. As fate would have it though, she ended up gathering a small following of soldiers (most of whom were in it for the plunder), and with them she began seeking the riches she had desired as a child.
