The Morag Tong have opted for a Siege Battle! The forces of Yuan Shao have moved against the Morag Tong at Chang Sha. The Yuan forces are now wandering too far from their already destroyed capital and will face becoming a rogue group as opposed to kingdom. If they can defeat the Morag Tong and take Chang Sha, it could add as their base of operations. Both armies can make a first post describing their location, troop numbers, and what not. ::MORALE:: *Defenders Red*Attackers Blue

It was thick, it soft and just a bit warm. Nighttime aboard a jewel, they called it Chang Sha out in far off lands.. but those round here spoke it with such a ring that you think it was some old timeless song. It was that beautiful, handsome nobility that made it such a fine charmer to passersby.... Sadly, the ones now were late to the party and had already been trumped by bandits. Luckily, they were already ready to fight, and oh how they had a hatred for bandits. Around them troops were readied.. they were hidden within a forest and Shao with his cavalry were just behind the forest where it opened up, Chang Sha was just ahead up the path and out of the forest. They would soon move to attack. ********** ***** With a bold sigh Yuan Shao looked up, his eyes pondering if he was strong enough for the task at hand. The moon lazily hung behind a cloud, eying the former noble, now near bandit himself. It was a sad but inevitable truth. Eventually however, the times would change and by the bandits sword; with such things would they realize quickly he was not a menace but a prince behind his facade of kingdom destroying power. Never the less.. Benchu sharpened his sword; he'd found its owner earlier in a pub between Xu Chang and Chang Sha, it was a random location but amazingly the sword was of impeccable quality, yet possessed a beauty that could be seen from afar. It would do him well, had said the pub master, and before he had left the next morning, it was upon his belt. Such kindness.. the north was where Shao was bred, but he could find love in the hillsides of the plains, and the sweet-talking river folk of the south. With another quick rasp he sharpened the blade further, shoving forth as Gao Lan appeared off in the distance. Gao Lan had not been brought to the battles with Dong Zhuo, he was left to defend Ye. Sadly he had failed, but during his failure he escaped, hoping to eventually strike again and take it back. He raised an army from the surrounding towns, the men were happy to oblige and were in their own respect mighty enough to handle such a task. Still, failure was all they faced as they found Ye burning. Despite destruction they carried on south and lived off the land, while drawing more and more men in to their cause. Nei Bei was to be good to the Yuan, for he'd been good for it. With a little luck, or maybe skill, so would "our land" as a whole. ---- Mid thought, a general came over, it was Gao Lan. He approached his lord and smiled firmly, he was still troubled at the enemy, who were known to be of a very sharp wicked flavor. "General, I am proud that you will be beside when we have defeated our enemy." Shao smiled back and turned back to eye his sword. His commander replied quickly after settling in and placing a map on the table that they were sitting around. "Your highness, I am pleased to pass on that we have word that both teams Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie had made their way into the Eagle's Nest and are commencing with the operation, success will be yours." Benchu paused, his mind still on how Gao had spoken to him. He opened up the general about it with a calm feel to him, "You do not have to call me highness anymore Lan, I am but a man who leads a group of rowdy, staunch- merry filled men." Shao smiled and laughed, inciting a laugh from his comrade. As they settled down they both took a look at the map, Shao drawing his hands over it firmly so there would be no mistakes.. "Oh.. well- that seems simple enough." Shao smiled, surprised and confused at who drew it. He muttered off into conversation as he and his general addressed other subjects. Zhang He paced along the front lines of his men. Having just set up camp, he felt the time was right for inspection. His army, grand in appearance, was arrayed inside the camp. He glanced down the line of spearmen arrayed in front, their weapons proudly at the ready. Such a beautiful sight. Unlike the campaign against Dong Zhuo, where Junyi was simply assigned command of some untrained soldiers of the Imperial army, Junyi had specially instructed the men under his command for this battle. With these men, he would be able to show the world what Zhang Junyi was capable of! He stopped mid-pace and turned to the men. ”Gentlemen, tonight is the first day of a new age! The traitor Dong Zhuo has been vanquished, the Han has been restored to its rightful place of power, and our master is renown throughout the land as a hero. Yet, for all this, he is homeless. Worse yet, so are we all! Our beautiful city of Ye has been burnt. We know not why nor how, all we know is that it is. So, vagabonds that we are, what shall we do? Sit by and retire to the country? Is that a fitting end for the tale of a hero as beautiful as Yuan Shao?””NO!”[/color] ”Exactly, my friends! So, instead of following that path, our master has determined a new one for us! Now we sit at the threshold of this new path, for now we ready ourselves to assault the Morag Tong! Who are they? Vulgar bandits, all of them! We shall wipe them form this life with elegance, grace, and beauty!” Zhang He ended his speech with a flourishing pose and a burst of butterflies. His elite troops followed suit immediately, followed quickly by his veterans. His militia hesitated, but joined in the mass pose. The ruffians were especially reluctant, but when it became clear that the rest of the men wouldn’t stop until they joined in, they caved and awkwardly posed with the rest of the army. ”Beautiful!”As the men dispersed, Zhang He was approached by his lieutenant. Qu Yi saluted and bowed. ”Sir, everything is ready. Lord Shao has reviewed the map I sent him and has approved of it. Also, I wish to send him this suggestion. Do you approve?” Zhang He took the offered parchment, patted Qu Yi lightly on the shoulder, and pulled hi to his feet. ”Rise, lieutenant. No need to be so formal in camp like this,” He quickly scanned the note then handed it back to Qu Yi, ”Yes, this will do beautifully. Deliver it to out master.””Yes, sir.”* * * * * Qu Yi dashed up to Yuan Shao, panting and out of breath. ”My lord, I have a plan approved of by Commander Junyi,” gasped Qu Yi as he presented the scroll to Yuan Shao. *In Battle Post* Yuan Shao looked up, surprised that Qu Yi was here for him. Something had changed though, since the horrible sights of Ye.. many had changed.. Benchu himself was different now. He sat there with a sword that he'd picked up from a bar keep; he was clothed in both robes and armour, its luster a deep golden hue with purple trimming, for lord Zhang He ha designed it himself. Hell, he even had a purple cape and a small purple plume upon his new head armour. Beside all of that crap, he was anew mentally. Something was different, he felt more importance in his actions, less folly in his enemy's and a general new awareness of what he was here to do... Route evil, he had decided. Destroy the wicked, unite the people at all costs by bringing down their tyrants, one by one... It was a handsome thought among many other noble things, but most of all it was true and free from corruption. No, Shao had thousands of dead souls behind him, guiding him so. Ever since he left Ye yet again, he felt them just behind him, cooing him on.. Qu Yi coughed and Benchu grabbed the parchment, surprised by how off in thought he was. He read it over quickly and then smiled, though was surprised that this man had also proposed the battle map from before. After a chuckle he reminded Qu Yi of his previous past, but then smiled again at the man and told him well done and then bid him back to his master.

They cried for Chang Sha Or did they?
The stampede echoed the vibrant like realm, mixing mud within the torn cracks of a horses natural hide. It was time, and as Dagoth watched the rumble from afar, did he know deep inside the outcome that would unfold from this un-warming invitation. For it was the very invitation he had sent others, an invitation of death - honour and courage.
Dagoth was alone now, but inside he could feel the passing of the ages, and even though he faced an army larger than his own, and better trained than his own - NOBODY, knew these lands quite like he did.
"Master." A mans words pleaded from beyond his vantage, a man masked within the same hooded gowns as his elite assassins, "They come for war and reports have already indicated their battle strategies, have we the time to build upon our own defences?"
"Do you question me private? Do you think i cannot remove this plague?"
The reply was left unanswered and the armies readied their stakes once more.
"A fight without dignity." He continued, "Is a fight without Honour, and that is why we cannot lose."
"And what of Yuan Shao's men?"
"What of them." He intervened, "Are you afraid of the passing tides, are you afraid to greet death with open arms?"
"No master, i serve your will and yours alone."
Dagoth smiled, "Then do as i say, send this letter immediately, there is a man in this world, who with my aid - will remove this petty little pest, send it now, and let the lies of our tale be remembered for its impact."
The man nodded, taking the small parchment and placing it within the pocket to his gown, "As you wish Master."
Dagoth's words were meaningless then, the man turned and sped off - to see the countless tides crash against each other until the strongest phenomenon of the heavens prevailed. The armies were only one of those tides, as their sharpened spears peered over the walls, glancing down at the steadily paced army as it arrived upon their borders. It was time ... and who else would be better at playing this little game of hide and seek then Dagoth himself.
"If those fools think attacking the south wall will help them, then they have a lot to learn about the Morag Tong and it's ways. The south is protected more so then the rest, so lets just see how these fools will play."
The army positioned itself, the Elite soldiers barricading the western gate whilst a few of the Militia units protected the north. The rest of the army wasn't seen, their blades were readied, and it seemed slightly weird to outsiders why every house had an open door, as if inviting the plunders of war - as if inviting the trap of death itself.
These people would attack, and when they did Dagoth would smile upon their empty souls, for only the darkness awaited them, in it's finest and most pure form. It waited like a whisper upon the edge of hearing, it would linger, it would confuse. But nevertheless it would remain intangible from the essences of war - these men would only hear its solemn melody when their bodies hit the ground, and when their lives were rudely taken from them.
"Hahahahaha - LET THEM COME!" And the battle was to begin, the archers adorned walls through passages pre made, the city was like a huge stronghold, with hidden passages forged by the Morag Tong, if the enemy was ever to overcome them, then they'd need a damn miracle.
"Archers!" He spoke one last time, his voice sharp, sharper then any blade he wielded, "Fire upon sight of the enemy, let the wind guide your arrows of death to it's victim...let the heavens cry out for these men, for not even a crashing tide can ignore a stronger tide!"
The city was ready, the towers ready - and large wooden ramps sat on the edge of the western gate, two in fact - separated only by a few hundred feet. Upon such Ramps where large decks, where upon that sat a simple structure, a structure that would fire upon their enemies, an structure that would BE their first crashing tide.

Yuan Shao told his hands to leave him after the preparations were done with. The night was slowly turning into dawn, and he had an understanding that the success of his attack deepened on his element of surprise. Naturally, his enemy would notice him, but he might not notice all of him.
"Off we go, riders with me."
Spoke the commander after he had rallied his men just outside of the forest they'd previously had been hiding behind. They were a large group, the veteran lancers a strong set of two lines in front of their fellow riders holding spears and shields. The group was one large block with enough space between the lines and troops to file quickly into a smaller shape, as to pierce the gate. Shao smiled at his planning, knowing said task would be quite easy.
The rear line pulled with them a catapult, off to their left was a tower which would strike the enemy higher up along the edge of the wall. Before it and behind it were a large mass of units, the halberdiers were keeping steady around the entire structure, while the militia sword and shield units were to the front, shields of course at the ready for fear of enemy archer fire.
Between the cavalry and the units moving the tower were axes and shields, and just ahead of them them five/half of the scouts. Both groups were nearly hidden amidst the sky, they used the large collection of torches from the other two units to keep their bearings while they marched towards the general location of the gate.
Benchu was notified of the enemy's gate being within catapult range and quickly called out to his armies, "Halt, prepare the catapult!" With a few quick passes of the torch the other armies stopped moving, knowing that the plans to take the city before them were very certain and even the slightest mistake or break in the chain of command could be detrimental to the whole operation.
A few moments later the catapult was ordered to fire by Shao's command, and as it did so the bows appeared from behind both the horse and tower units. With little help other than the enemy's own torches and the little light from dawn, they fired towards what they expected to be the enemy's walls.
Meanwhile, a huge freakin boulder rolled through the air, aiming for the enemy's gate. Shao gazed up in the air, hearing the familiar sound of a large object passing through at high speed. He looked off to his right and spoke to a cavalry man, "You know I've done that before.."

As Yuan Shao’s men moved out and took their positions, Zhang He gave orders to move out as well. He called Qu Yi over to direct him. ”Lieutenant, I want you to take command of our archers. Collect them and array them alongside our lord’s flank. Make sure the formation is one of order and beauty.” Qu Yi coughed and fidgeted nervously, but Junyi placed a hand on his shoulder and whispered some presumably encouraging words into his ear, then continued, ”Also, bring the catapults with you and begin assaulting that excuse for a city. I shall personally lead the infantry.”As ordered, Qu Yi commanded the archer units to array themselves alongside Yuan Shao’s right flank, arraying themselves in an interspersed fashion so that the three different types or archers were indistinguishable. In addition to their bows, the bowmen also carried lit torches to illuminate their unit and ease loading. To the right of the archers he placed Junyi’s two catapults, and behind them were the unit’s two supply wagons and their regular wagons. Additionally, Junyi dispatched ten scouts to relay messages between forces. After he’d arranged the men appropriately, Qu Yi bade the catapults open fire on the northwest gate. The weapons were loaded with boulders and aimed in the direction of the gates. ”F-fire! Bring those gates down! I want to walk through those city streets…uh, before morning!” With a lurch, the weapons flung their ordinance at the northwest gates as the men gave a cheer. * * * * * While Qu Yi began the attack on the gate, Zhang He marched out with his infantry. Continuing his practice from the campaign against Dong Zhuo, Junyi had each man sheath his weapon and gag their mouth. They stole away as stealthily as they could manage, moving quietly behind Qu Yi’s catapults. Qu Yi had been made aware of these movements, so there were no unfortunate misunderstandings. Conversely, Qu and his men paid no mind to the army sneaking behind them, whether they noticed them or not. In either case, Zhang He and his army positioned themselves a short distance behind Qu Yi’s unit, near the catapults. While Qu Yi’s archers made no attempt to hide themselves, Zhang He and his cohort did everything possible to avoid detection. (Remade, no bombs this time, cry baby ) At that time of day the lazy Ba Zeng was sleeping. A big room inside the palace, complete with luxurious curtains, a huge door, nice carpet, and huge shelf for all of his books. Ba Zeng was by a window, head down, and snoring. There was probably something he was supposed to be doing, but mooching off this guild was too good. As the sun rose and it's beams hit his face he started to awake. He heard the sound of fast footsteps, and suddenly someone burst through his door. Guards are here to drag me off to do something I bet."Sir we're being attacked!" The idea was funny to Ba Zeng, no bandit force would dare attack a protected city, and there were no rival kingdoms anywhere. "Ha, no we're not..." He giggled at the idea and dismissed it immediately. Then suddenly there was a huge BOOM rocked the palace. Ba Zeng knew the sound all too well. They have a fucking catapult. He sat up and cursed to himself. Putting his hands up to his face to rub his weariness from his eyes. Of course just because there was no immediate threat, didn't mean the witty Ba Zeng didn't prepare. He waved off the guard. "Go tell Dagoth to retreat all troops from the North West wall. I want to use that area denial technique I was telling him about."He yawned as the guard left him. "I think it's time for me to take my leave." Taking his possessions from his room, just his weapons. He peaked out into the hallway, all of the guards were gone. Investigating the hallway, it seemed empty enough to sneak out through the secret escape tunnels. Ba Zeng walked out of his room and made his way to the last torch, pulled it, and the a huge piece of wall pushed into the wall which Ba Zeng slid out of the way. It was easy enough then to just walk away and flee to Ling Ling. However right then for some reason the scheming man did not want to leave. He was probably going to die, and being a coward saved his life plenty of times. This time was different, Ba Zeng wanted to stay, even if he was confounded why. Perhaps he would feel guilty if Chang Sha were to fall. Yes that was it. With a sigh Ba Zeng walked away. It was time to wake up his men's arses and lead them into battle. The city outside was quite chaotic, civilians being escorted out of the city, and Dagoth's men littering the streets. As Ba Zeng walked down the palace steps, he looked calm. Inside however he was quite worried. A full scale siege by whom? The question raced around his brain. There was time to figure that out. A huge boulder flew through the sky, Ba Zeng looked up amazed. Huh Then he groaned in his mind. Within the next half hour Ba Zeng gathered his men and gave them the appropriate orders for his defensive plan. (Err I'll PM it to Ryan or something.) There was a low rumble in the distance, which became more and more pronounced as the moments passed, like the noise of thunder after the lightining struck. But there were no clouds in the sky, only the dark endless night that glittered with stars, stuck to the black vastness of the above. To some, stars held their own stories, Myths told to thrill for all times. When you put a star group together, those stories became even wilder, becoming gods themselves and supposedly affecting the outcome of your every action.
Where the stars in their favor tonight?
'I wouldn't put my fate in the hands of Gods or Stars...'
The noise was louder now, the ground before them trembling with the force on a mini-earthquake underneath the thousand-plus horses heading in the direction of Chang Sha. Eyes would be drawn to them and the sheer size of the calvery, the numbers they came in, would be enough to have any sensible soldier quaking in their boots. And that wasn't all of them either. A good number of foot soldiers where only minutes behind the horde of horseman, and would be catching up soon, for on a unspoken command from one person, several others shouted down the ranks of the calvary until they had slowed into a trot, then a walk; Until finally, the soldiers stopped, horses snorting and stamping thier feetin place.
Their position had them behind the attacking Army, though they made no move to attack. In fact, a small group of four detached themselves from the group and headed to the catapluts of Yuan Shao's army, weapons away in a sign that they were not attacking... yet, anyway. And at the front of the four riders? A very familiar pair of golden eyes glittered in the darkness, framed by green-streaked hair that belonged to a woman. And not just a woman, but to many, a beautiful but demonic one, who fought harder than any man, shown neither mercy nor fear on the Battlefield, and hailed from the far West from a small farming village she had just only recently broken ties with.

Boom, crash, smash.
The gates slowly began to decay, time itself sped up by both the might and intellect of man. His inventions were ambitious and yet his ambitions were deadly. Men, women, civilization as a whole seemed to forever be leading itself down a dark trail, deeper into the forest until that there was no clear path ahead and one could not distinguish time old foe from time old friend.
All of that made Yuan Shao want to break free of his chains, to distinguish himself and those around him, free the prisoners to tyranny and eradicate the wicked. His blade would cut the 'branches' away.
Despite his new sense, he didn't pick up the very large army that slowly began to form up to his rear. Then again, who could with the awesome sight before him? The enemy in all their might stood tall and proud, though notably silent as his men fell to trap yet proved their own mettle by moving forward. It was impressive, finding such courage when the night was so dark and the fields so unfriendly.
To the Yuan's left his men bustled on despite the enemy's clever trap. It would take some time to navigate the tower around the now gaping hole in the earth. The swords and shields were now further ahead than planned and the units that had been previously behind them hurried to catch up; the sense of rush and fear only helped them to push the tower along faster. Again, words came to mind to the sight.
Before long they would be at the wall with their prized chariot of annihilation.
"My lord.."
Benchu quickly swiveled around with his horse to notice the commotion behind him; he felt tortured, his own men acting out and not allowing him to enjoy his own damn battle. The entire look fell tot he ground however as he found himself staring at the woman from Lou Yang, from the fields were tyranny was proven human. Stunned, Shao's horse backed up a bit as it sensed the tension from its lord as he felt around his side for his sword. Reality however sunk in and he drew his hand back up to grasp his horse's reigns and steady the animal. Again he remembered Lou Yang and how he'd failed before....
"If I'd known more were coming I would have waited." Smiled Shao, though his eyes were like stones, solid and unflinching. His men stood ready, reading their lord carefully and waiting for the fateful command.
Behind him the catapults fired again, this time further honed in than before. The bowmen from all groups fired off once more and the troop in the middle snuck further towards the enemy's wall just beside the gate.

From his vantage point at the forefront of the archers, Qu Yi smiled nervously at the sight of the gate. Following their barrage, the structure was nearly demolished. Although this was fine and according to plan, he didn’t relish the thought of marching into the city to fight. It would be dangerous, and there were probably more traps awaiting them. It was an unnerving thought, so Qu was content to wait outside the city and fling rocks at it. He nodded at the catapult squads, who loaded up additional rocks. ”Lord Shao will finish up the gate. Begin aiming for the city walls. The wider the gap, the more of us we can fit in at once, right?” Qu commanded, and suitable adjustments were made. * * * * * While Qu Yi continued his bombardment of the city, Zhang He perked up. He heard a crashing noise break the relative silence of the night and smiled. The main force must have begun their attack on the city. Excellent, their elegant plan was already beginning to flower. Soon there would be the reassuring rumble of the gates falling and they could advance. Ah, there it is now…thought Junyi to himself. Indeed, there was an audible rumble moments after the bombardment ceased. Wait...it’s too soon. He closed his eyes and focused on the rumbling, which was growing louder. It shouldn’t be going on for this long… Junyi was surprised to notice that the rumbling was coming from behind them. This could be a problem; if the enemy managed to encircle them it would dramatically disrupt their carefully crafted siege strategy. Alliteration aside, Junyi would have to investigate the matter personally. He was about to set off when he spotted a group of four men making their way toward Yuan Shao’s position. Signaling to most of his men to stay put, he took six axemen and took off to intercept the party of potential spies. As he neared them, he called out to them. ”Halt! In-Battle Post ”Halt! State your purpose, or run afoul of my claws.”
At the words, The woman pulled Syto to a stop, turning her head to look down at the seven who had intercepted them. To their leader, she smirked, a bit of a glint in her eye. "is that any way to greet a comrade, my friend?" She asked Zhang He, a bit of a laugh in her voice. While her apperance had remained the same from the last time the other had seen her, there was something... diffrent. Not physicaly, but diffrent all the same. After all, she was here, was she not? After her declaration that she wouldn't leave her home and men no less. The change didn't seem to be bad though...
In fact, she felt freer than ever before.
'Is this how Heroes are made?'
The woman returned to all seriousness when she turned to Yuan Shao, who had just noticed her apperance and had spoken of it. Would of waited? How thoughtful. "The realization of where I needed to be came only recently... My Lord." Xifeng smiled briefly as well, though she held a somber tone. Her use of the honorific title held not the detachment she usually used, but more meaning, as though she was one under his service and would fight for the dreams he wished to make a reality.
"That is, if I'm still welcome at your side."

*In Battle Post* "That is, if I'm still welcome at your side."With such a reply Benchu found himself smiling, a different excitement coursing through his veins then the ol fill from the battle. Shao wanted to dismount, wanted to tell the woman that all was well and there was no reason to drag, which she seemed to do when speaking upon the subject. He chose to stay upon his horse, though he leaned in a bit and stirred the animal forward, his eyes coming in contact with Zhang He at first and nodding to the man, before he found himself again meeting the two golden orbs. Eerie they were at night with the nearby torches, but Shao wasn't one to scare easily. Nor, not capitalize on his mistakes. Warmly he replied to Xifeng's question or rather statement, "Of course, it was always open. I am too sorry for my blundering in Lou Yang," took a good bit of his pride to admit his own mistake, especially with a smile, "Fortune that you come to me today, when I seek justice against the wicked of this city. I would have you at my side, but lord Zhang He requires assistance with his formations, if your army will appear just before his, we may be able to seize the night and plow our way through the enemy!' he finished vigorously, eyes returning down to his new officer, a small chuckle upon his face as the boy came out of him. He was made for these things, a tool in so many ways, ambitious ever still... he laughed again and his men cheered on around him. Victory was certain.

In-Battle Post Zhang He had been taken aback by Xifeng's arrival. Although he had hoped to see her again after leaving Shun Jhi, he hadn't expected the reunion to be so soon. He regained his composure as Yuan Shao addressed her, and piped in as soon as he'd finished. "I'm glad you've made your decision. Together we will bring beauty to the battlefield once again." He smiled and made a quick pose. "if you would follow me my men are this way. Try not to make too much noise; we're trying to avoid detection." He gave one last bow and skipped back toward his men.
