Images of the dead and dying didn't bother her, really. As long as she didn't give it a second thought, things like that could be blocked from her mind. The important part of the battle was the beginning, the turning point and the end. As long as you got through those parts alive... She laughed slightly at some of his words in spite of herself. "China's not ready for a woman to rule." Oh the fun that would be to see. She didn't elaborate further, watching Qu Yi become tangled with a drunk to further save her from answering any questions about where she was from. The woman looked out of the corner of her eye for her second, noticing he was already gone. Damn, just when she needed him to intervene and B.S her way out of it...
Then of course, salvation came for The Beautiful Devil in the form of a drunkard. Go figure. She half turned to look at the commotion that was Ma Chao and Li Pi and the drunk and shook her head, changing the subject with relative ease since most everyone had heard the commotion. This time, she allowed her voice to be raised just enough so others could hear her, even though she spoke to those of the Yuan Kingdom.
"Already? You would think they know better..." There was a hint of annoyance in her tone. Why the hell was she here again? Right, she had given in to her men.

Ma Chao drank from his cup again as the young lady rambled on about being able to hold her own. Was she talking about on the battlefield, he wondered...? He just rolled his eyes, but did notice the imposing figure of her bodyguard who could actually be a decent fight.
"Nah" the young warrior said, blowing off her personal guard as if a ruffian who would be cut down in 1 bout.
He had to admit, though Qing seemed snobbish, she was very nice looking. Chao wondered who her father was and figured it would not hurt to make some conversation while getting drunk. Not only that, he needed to keep Qing busy while he worked out his master plan.
"Your father sent you? Who may i ask is the great man who helped produce such a splendid woman?"
Man, he could lay it on thick.
Just as Ma Chao thought he was loosing her interest, it was time to enact plan A. While Qing turned to check out some other guys, which made Chao boil over in jealousy, he leaned in and tried to slip a pill into her drink! One could only guess what plan B would be!
However, as he was going to put the magic dust into the lady's drink he was approached by some madman claiming that he killed so and so. Hell, he killed a lot of people so how would he know what this guy was talking about.
Mengqi was pushed away from the lovely lady and into a table, getting someone's wine on his newly shined outfit. Oh, now someone was going to die. The man sitting at the table, who was drinking from the very cup which possessed the very wine which was upon his armor, caught a swift left hook which sent him to the ground reeling in pain.
The young warrior turned to pwn on someone, really mad now that he also hurt his left hand, but was quite surprised to see weapons drawn against him.
"Well, now, there is always a hero at one of these parties. Let me guess, too many jugs of wine friend?" Chao said, hoping the fool was just lost and challenging random people to a fight. He did not know the man was Zhang Ren, as he was staring at Qing's chest when the introduction was made, nor did he know the famed warrior harbored secret hatred for some past deed.
"What is this you say!?"
Ma Chao unsheathed his broad sword at the comment about his father. How dare this man even mention Ma Teng's name, who had recently gone missing. Word had it that he went as an envoy to make peace with another lord, but never returned.
"I will cut your tongue from that foul mouth should you mention my father again!" he barked, flailing his sword around as both his elites did the same. Liu Pi moved to meet the two men, but they would be enough of a fight for him. Even Xiaoli Qing had a weapon and was ready to defend against drunken tough guy assaults.
Just then, another drunk came skittering through. They were everywhere!
The man, one of Yuan Shao's circus freaks, actually saved the day or at least the moment. He ran into Zhang Ren and both men tumbled to the ground. Unfortunately, the drunkard probably made the situation worse as Ren's honor was being crushed.
Mengqi pointed his sword at Zhang Ren attempted to calm the situation.
"If i have to kill you, so be it, but if you tell me how i have wronged you maybe the sun will shine upon your face tomorrow."

Shao chuckled at her first comment; he'd yet to notice anything around them. No, his eyes were steady despite his tiresome state.A few hairs shimmered from his beard however as he frowned, the woman turning to notice something from the crowd. It seemed a scuffle was going to occur. Shao gazed over quickly and noticed a young warrior who seemed out of place. Before him was Zhang Ren, who Zhang He had spoken to him about. Apparently he was to be trusted, but with such actions Shao only felt more tired..
This woman was a free spirit, too much for Shao maybe, but he was not looking for a lover just yet. A powerful creature that can capitalize on the weakness of men.. it was somewhat dirty. Benchu was not going to whore the woman out in anyway; no it was just him and Zhang He right now. This feeling pulled him to her, he couldn't allow her to leave and one day come round to bite him in the arse. All he had to do was get out there, and prove his point. Sadly his luck was dry, she was a stronger person probably.
Decisively he responded, looking at the back of her head and waiting to see her beautiful eyes yet again, "Milday, I must be honest, I see you and I look to my side and find but a lonely Zhang He. I, rather those that have me me so powerful, need the power which you command with such modesty... I've been very honest with you so far, yet you hide in the shadows. I can respect that, I hope you can respect my forwardness."

Let Us Rethink Things
As Shao's officer sent them both to the ground, Ren's sword fell from his hand. Ren cracked the drunk in the neck, then rolled him off of himself. Unknown to Ren the man landed on his sword. Zhang Ren stood up, and looked around for his sword momentarily, couldn't find it, and looked back at Chao, to have a sword pointed at him.
Ren stood his ground and stared at Ma Chao. Rage boiled, but the un abated need to kill Ma Chao had mostly subsided. He looked Chao up and down once.
"Your father once ordered you to massacre a town that had risen against him. I don't quite remember the reason why, I do believe he was over taxing the people. They hired me and my men to protect them. We tried, hell we tried to talk to you, but all that happened was your men assaulting the town, massacring the people and reducing my mens numbers to next to nothing. I never had a chance to challenge you myself. My few remaining men forced me to leave."
Ren clenched his fist at his side, tempted to take his chances with Chao's broadsword anyway. Probably not the greatest idea but Ren pissed. He looked over at the random drunk who had ruined his probably only chance to kill Chao. He kicked him once in the ribs, but didn't take his attention complete off of Mengqi.
"I would take my chances and try to kill you anyway, but in the moment of this feast I do believe I acted too rashly." Ren's voice was strained, his body was ready to kill the man. Only a rare moment of clear headedness stopped him from trying to kill Ma Chao anyway. Perhaps Ren would send Chao off balance with such a change of thought. Or maybe Ren would die...

She didn't bother to watch the idiots any further, turning back to Yuan Shao and meeting him with her steady golden gaze, allowing him to finish before speaking, shifting all of her attention to him now. She was serious, when was the woman ever not? But the man had enough sense to tell her straight out what he wanted from Xifeng, and that with that she could respond to him by bearing down her choice.
"I have a duty to my soldiers, and my soldiers to their home." She started. No, the woman didn't say Kingdom... She would never again assosiate with the scum that had chosen Dong Zhuo over the true ruler of China. The thought caused angry flames to rise up in her, which she controlled and kept off her face. "They need me to direct them until another can do better, to protect what we have. To up and leave them would be an insult to all of the battles we have fought in together."
The situation was more complicated than it seemed, but she had no intention of delving into it. It wasn't like she was just a gifted woman that knew how to fight and lead wandering around with a group of troops. She had obligations to her village, the people there, and her Family Name, even if she was the odd one out most of the times. Xifeng Yue- The woman who goes off to war not just with the men, but leading them. Lu Bu's scorn wasn't anything new to her... She had expected to encounter it many more times, even within the Allied ranks. It suprised her she hadn't.

As the drunken man was kicked, he grabbed onto his offenders leg like it was his tiny little stuffed tiger that he kept back at Ye. He nuzzled against the foot and held on tightly with his eyes closed and his mind off in some fuzzy land..

Watching the man look at her bodyguard he looked as if he wanted to maybe fight him. Which she thought was a pretty funny thought after all she knew what her bodyguard was capable of. The guy looked like he could fight but she doubted that he could take on her bodyguard. Of course her bodyguard would probably refuse to fight him, protecting Qing was far more important to him. Ah so he wanted to know who her father was, well she would of course tell him.
Of course Qing seemed a little snobbish unlike most peoples views of pirates she didn't enjoy getting drunk til you could barely see where you were going. "My father is Xiaoli Mei, the pirate" she said with a small smirk as she said the last part. It was quiet funny to watch peoples faces when they pieced together that meant that she was also a pirate.
Qing looked around for another moment and she saw him trying to slip something into her drink and anger grew in her. Of course she remained her calm self for the time being. After all she was going to let him know what she had seen she just had to have the perfect timing. Someone came crashing threw and grabbed the man which wasn't a surprise that he had angered someone else in the past. Watching him go crashing into the table she gave a small grin, she had to admit that watching this was quiet entertaining.
Of course Qing had realized that he had been staring at her chest which made her a lot more angry. Her fist clenched and she stood there watching for a moment, holding the sword in her hands for a moment she stood there. Getting her plan together she gave a small nod to herself and walked over to Ma Chao, she got closer th him and it didn't seem harmful. That was until the hilt of her sword hit him where it hurt with impressive force. Looking at him she gave a small grin "don't ever try to slip anything in my drink ever again or else the hilt will not be what hits that sensitive spot" she said with a small grin that seemed to be cold.
With that she threw the sword back over to her bodyguard and looked back at Ma Chao, "well I'm done with him" she said walking off. Walking over to a wall she leaned against it slightly, some people of course had noticed what she had just done. Did it bother her? Not in the least bit, if people branded that guy for a idiot she could live with it. Looking around she wandered who she should talk to next.

Always late to the party, Ji-Huang Liang steps into the room, glancing about at all the reknowned generals around. Coming up behind him is his loyal Lieutenant, drunk again, Sen Acare. The words coming out of his mouth is a fairly happy song, Rick Astley, as more modern humans would call him. And guess what? Sen Acare is -never- going to let you down.
"...Acare, -why-? Why must you embarrass me at every other turn?"
"....Beeeecaaaaauuuuseeeee Iiiim! Never gonna give you up...!"
And again, he breaks into song. With a groan, Huang Liang puts a hand to his forehead, looking at the arguments breaking out. Seems they're here to lighten up the tension a bit.

A pain drew in Yuan Shao's side at the woman's words of her duty. She was absolutely perfect it seemed.. her loyalty had proved this. Still, the pain came from this for she was loyal to her men and it seemed nothing more. Squinting just a bit to pass the moment by, Shao heard her as she continued anew. After she spoke he tried again at smiling, but it did not come out so well and he could tell. His hand shook a bit at his side, reminding him of how he'd nearly broken the appendage fighting a man, and then his life was saved by his one of his own men.. that man had died in the feat.
With what he could manage, he spoke up to her, making sure she knew he would not be had just yet, "Men I have too, some dead, some dying, some just alive. All will return to Ye in peace. Ye is to be open to anyone.. if you came with us, so would they..." Shao had attempted to bypass her thoughts about returning home, she too didn't seem to be so keen on the thought, though he truly didn't know. "It is painful to leave home, but here we are in a lavish room, smiling and chatting despite having fought a hard war. Maybe home is what we all need for such madness... it's understandable if your men belong in their homes. Yet still, I believe they will do the greater good with me, upon the righteous tide of Ye."
Poor Yuan Shao. Poor poor Yuan Shao. Ye had gone up like a Christmas tree. He still didn't know.. none of them new. Pain was just across the way, but would he be able to stand strong with his officers? He only had one...

Wait... Screw Giving Up...
Ren was suddenly caught horribly off guard as the same drunk latched onto his leg. What the hell is this guys problem... He should learn to hold his booze. With these thoughts in mind Ren was attempting to peel the drunk off with his other leg.
He had just managed to get Qiong off most of the way when he spotted his sword under the man. Damn it... So there it is.... Ren thought as he ducked down to grab his blade.
At that same moment he heard a loud noise escape form some one. He looked up and saw saw Chao in some discomfort, and a woman walking away angrily. Ren laughed a bit in spite of himself. He grabbed his blade, stood up, and pointed his sword at Chao.
Liu Pi looked over at his friend and just shook his head. He put his sword away, and walked over to Ren. He whispered a few words into the others ear and Ren put his sword away. Ren was still staring at Ma Chao.
"It seems like Mengqi can't help but fail with women, eh?" Ren laughed leaned agianst a nearby table.

So, it seemed the crazed warrior's name was Zhang Ren and he was a bandit leader? Well, all the more reason to kill him Chao supposed. He had just spent months killing thousands of bandit scum so one more would just add to the count. However, there was something in this man's eyes that Mengqi could relate to. It was his hatred for his father!
"I do not recall of which day you speak, but I will stay my blade if you take sparing your life as payment" the young leader exclaimed, pulling back his blade and looking to his left. Both of his guards did the same, easing the increased tension.
Ma Chao kicked the drunkard on the floor as well, offering a gift to Ren who had his honor and chance at revenge dashed by a bumbling fool. The crack of a rib was a nice conclusion to that episode, but another was just about to begin!
"So, Qing" he said, turning to face a red-faced she-devil. The lady was pissed and obviously saw Mengqi try to drug her, that was not good. Actually, she saw the wandering eyes on her chest also so combined it made the situation worse then when Zhang Ren just threatened to kill him.
"Whoa, whoa!"
Ma Chao bent over slightly when his family stones were hit with Qing's hilt, sending a jolt of pain through his body. He made a face akin to: "Why the berries, biatch?"
Well, at least she did not get too crazy so he was thankful for that. It seemed Chao had just arrived but was minglin nicely. Hell, who else was he going to start a fight with?
"So, Zhang Ren, let me get you a drink and by the way I am a stud with the women that one was just playing hard to get" he said, briefly looking to see his woman walking away.
"She will be back."

*Sun Yuan Ci listened intently as his audience with Wei Yan continued. The two shared many similarities. Not only had they each brandished blades in a valiant effort to thwart Dong Zhuo, but they also were two men of honor. Both fought for the just purpose that Zhiyun had spoken of. For peace. He knew not where he would go after the celebration. He had, apparently, gathered a name for himself by fighting. This was good, as Yuan Ci had a bad feeling of the makings of the courts of the Han. He looked across the halls, seeing men who were each corrupted in their own way. Dong Zhuo did nothing but shed light on corruption. It was still there. That which had severed his bond with his father. Though the tyrant was fell, there would be another. There was one man that Zhiyun could not find trust for: Yuan Shao. There was something about him, being his family name and the way the people spoke about him It was not that Sun Yuan Ci didn't respect the man, or that he feared him, but he feared the possible poisoned influence he may possess.*
*The last words Wei Yan spoke sent shivers up Yuan Ci's spine. He had slowly walked over to a table, to pour himself a serving of wine, but had stopped immediately upon hearing the words. He turned to look at Wei Yan, his eyes shimmering. It was not the praise for his military abilities that got to him, but the fact that the loyalty of such a reputable warrior was just thrown his way. He lowered his head, pouring wine into a thin bowl, bringing it up to his lips and sipping a small portion of the content.*
"You would follow me, Master Wei Yan? You honor me with each passing word you speak. I know how to reach you, then, should you remain in Chang An. I fear I know not where I shall reside, be it in city or camp, but I shall remember this meeting. If... when... the time presents itself, I shall call upon you. Let us drink, then, for peace. As long or as short as it stalks the land."
*It was then that he noticed the man. The fabled tactician. He had heard of this man, based on his performance during the battle. He had put into demonstration the fiercest tactic that Sun Yuan Ci had ever seen. Using a catapult, this man was the one who Rick Roll'd Guo Si! This was Ji-Huang Liang!*
"Master Liang! Please, join us. It would be an honor."

Leaning against the wall she stood there with her arms crossed and she closed her eyes for a moment. Her bodyguard stood there and looked at her for a few seconds. "Are you okay?" he looked at her, slightly worried after all he had seen what the guy had tried to pull. "I'm fine" she said giving him a small nod "he wasn't anything I couldn't handle". "Now lets find someone else to meet" she said looking around and she saw another girl there that looked like she was a warrior.
Qing opened her arms and got up from where she was at the wall, getting the hair that was in her face out of the way she walked over to Xifeng Yue. Qing wasn't sure what to think of the other men around in the party now at least. All she knew was that staying away from Ma Chao was going to be a smart idea for the rest of her life. She had meant what she had said to him a few minutes ago, rarely did she ever kid around. Walking up she looked at the women and stood there for a moment "hope I'm not intrupting anything".
Looking at the women she gave a small bow "couldn't help but notice that there was another women warrior here". She also gave a small bow to the man the women was speaking to after all there was no need to be rude. "Once again I'm sorry if I am interrupting anything" she said looking at the both of them. Her gray eyes shined from the lighting that was around in the room. She then thought to herself that they might of seen what had happened between her and that guy.
Qing had to admit that she was actually trying to hold back laughter while doing so to him but she had to keep her composure. After all if she would of laughed he would of not taken it as her being serious. Of course he probably thought she was going to come back, which would never happen. After all she did not need to go back to talk to someone like him. Plus he even when they were talking just held no interest to Qing, of course she doubted he held interested with anyone else in conversations.
Qing could also here what was probably some drunk guy coming in and singing, she gave a glance there way but continued to talk to the people in front of her. After all as interesting as the already drunk man and his friend appeared to be she had started talking to this women. Plus she wasn't really sure what you could expect from drunk people, some were happy then they get angry. Of course he could of just been one of those happy all the time drunks but why take chances.

Her eyes finally flickered down and away from him. Gods above, why did this man beg? She was already uncomfortable as it was just going to this party, and now this? She fervently wished her second could read minds, because she needed him about now. A social butterfly she was not. Dealing with men that were not of her family usually consisted of either killing them, training them, or insulting them.
"It can't work like that. What we have in Shun Jhi is vastly different than a great city like Ye," She said, tone low. She just wanted to get this over with now, but as politely as she could manage. Oh, and she was dropping the ball again. Bad Xifeng! "It just wouldn't work, My L-... Shou Yuan. I couldn't do that to them, to families."
The Beautiful Devil gave him an apologetic look, then glanced around at the rest of them, about to excuse herself from the conversation when the woman that rude man had been hitting on walked over and spoke to them. Once again, salvation in a ironic form. Yue looked at her and spoke first, recovering from the somber air they held to being slightly more animated. "Oh, no trouble... no more then them, anyway." She gestured to Ma Chao and the others with a careless hand, a small smile returning to her face, already gravitating away from those of the Yuan Empire and to the newcomer, reining herself in from despratly clinging to her. She owed the younger, big time.

Zhang He sighed as Xifeng stalked away with the newly arrived girl. Yuan Shao had overdone it, of that Junyi was certain. He shook his head and sighed again, then whispered softly, not really caring if he was overheard.
“Alas, I fear my master is destined to direct a play with just one actor. What a pity, together we had made a beautiful duet.” He brought a hand to his temple and thoughtfully stroked his cheek. “Still, loyalty to one’s home is in itself beautiful, I suppose. I had hoped I’d finally found someone as beautiful as myself to help my master, but it seems I shall have to simply keep looking.” His hand dropped resignedly to his side and he began to lazily observe the events occurring around Ma Chao, his mind clearly elsewhere while he did so.
Meanwhile, Qu Yi busied himself escorting the heavily inebriated Chunyu Qiong out of the hall in the manner he saw most appropriate: kicking the man along the floor.
