:The Beginning:
Wei Yan was born to a family within the walls of Chai Sang. His family was not rich, with his father being a stable master and his mother staying home with five children, three girls and two boys. Yan was the second born, the oldest was his brother Wei Mai. The rest were Wei Ru, Wei Li, and Wei Rea; named from oldest to youngest.
Wei Yan's brother was four years older than him, and was taken to the stable rather early in his life to hopefully take over was his father had passed. His sisters were all put to domestic chores, leaving Yan to find his own niche. He spent most of his younger days in the stables thinking this to be his career as well, but on his fourteenth birthday his father made it very clear that Wei Mai would be the only one of his sons allowed to work the stables. Yan was distraught thinking his father had an unknown hate for him. Actually, his father meant for Yan to try and develope his own career within the barracks of Chai Sang.
Years passed in the barracks, twelve to be exact, and Wei Yan was developing rather swiftly. The time had come for his graduation into service of Chai Sang and the Han Empire. A marvelous day it was, but Yan didn't go into service instantly. Instead he took four years and developed his knowledge of strategy and other types of warfare.
Six years have passed since the barracks, and in six years Yan has gathered up quite the following of men. Most of them given to him by Chai Sang. He now resides there, with his personal, hand picked men and the rest of his remaining unit.
:The Dong Zhuo Conflict:
The time before the battle is foggy now, but Wei Yan had made his way to the allied camp with his dear from Lu Rai. Along their way they picked up a few warriors here and there hellbent on making a name for themselves before they died. The moment they caught sight of that camp the battles began.
The camp was in flames, and burning faster and faster. In all honesty, Wei Yan's life was saved by the shield of Lu Rai. An arrow was flying for Yan's back when Lu Rai brought up his shield and saved his dear friend's life. So the two men charged out of the gates and the fight was on.
During the battle, Yan made his way north and actually came upon a hurting allied officer's unit. So Yan struck out into the enemy ranks and helped rescue a near defeated Dagoth Ur, the man was later named. The Great Teacher, Zhang Jiao, was also there to aid Dagoth Ur.
Soon that small skirmish was over, and with that end came the end of the battle. A night raid had been repelled rather soundly by the allied forces. That night they mounted boats and made for the enemy, Dong Zhou's, shore.

Soon that small skirmish was over, and with that end came the end of the battle. A night raid had been repelled rather soundly by the allied forces. That night they mounted boats and made for the enemy, Dong Zhou's, shore.
The enemy shore was a sight for sore eyes, that was until hundreds upon hundreds of flaming stars took flight and crashed into the allied ships. Another fire attack had taken place and the allies had walked right into it. So Wei Yan did what any warrior would do... He panicked!
Lu Rai, his best of best friends took control of the situation and attempted backing away from the boats as to manuver around. This was a disaster, though valient in idea. The ship crashed into another allied ship, the ship of General Lu Meng. By now, Wei Yan was back into his right state of mind and made his way back topside.
Being at the wheel, Lu Rai broke for a gap between two burning ships that the enemy had sent sailing towards the allies, full of men. Soon, they were being boarded, and Wei Yan came alive! His weapon was sending men overboard, along with his shoulder rushes, punches, and roars. He was a war machine again!
Finally they reached the shoreline, and Wei Yan, Lu Rai, and their remaining troops jumped off the boat, happy to be alive. Sadly, they were the first to land. Not only were they the first, but they were in the middle of the beach, with hundreds upon hundreds of arrows raining down on their position. With some quick thinking though the unit avoided heavy casualties, or casualties at all really, with a defensive stance.
The fight was on then, and Wei Yan and his men had been voted to lead, Operation "Meatshield." So they did what they were told to do. The unit charged and took all the enemies on they could take, still barely losing any men. It was a gift from the heavens themselves! Then, Yan saw what he had been looking for, Lu Bu...
Lu Bu was his target, and when Wei Yan arrived, Lu Rai promptly followed. Their unit, wreaked havoc! A female was there as well, General Xifeng Yue. The three combatants squared off against the Mighty Lu Bu! After only a few moments of combat, the shore was won and Lu Bu was forced to retreat. During the conflict, Lu Rai took quite a blow to the shield to save the life of Wei Yan. Valiant!
Then, within moments of victory, the whole of Dong Zhuo's army was upon the allies. Wei Yan, Lu Rai, and their newly armed men were set to the right flank and told to hold it with their lives! They meant to do just that.

The final showdown between the allies and Dong Zhuo had begun. Wei Yan was the first on the right flank to act, and it was sorely becoming habit. His new unit formed an unbreakable phalanx, and began marching. Wei Yan himself did as he always did, killed everyman within his grasp.
After only moments though, an idea came to the warrior that was to be one of the main downfalls of the enemy, a funnel! With the help of Sun Liao's own me, Lu Rai led the phalanx into a reverse funnel position ( "V" ) and soon the enemy general Guo Si and his men were being ripped to pieces.
Meanwhile, another allied general by the name of Ji-Huang Liang was pincering Guo Si's flank to pieces, until enemy cavalry came to reinforce Guo Si. Ji-Huang Liang was now in the pincer, but Sun Liao began moving to his aid. Wei Yan also did his part in helping, by calling out the enemy general Guo Si.
Guo Si accepted the challenge like an honorable man, and was quickly dismounted by The Ravager of Courage, Wei Yan. Once the general was off his horse, all he did was run, so Yan gave pursuit as any great warrior would. Once it seemed that Guo Si would escape to live another day, Yan sent his own spear sailing and embedded it into Guo Si's leg, sending the man to his capture.
Guo Si was later executed by Xiahou Dun, another allied general that had been helping Wei Yan without any recognition. Lu Rai would later scold Yan for this rather thoroughly. Then, the two warriors, Wei Yan and Lu Rai went on the war march of their lives!
The two marched side by side, the phalanx falling in behind them, and began slaying enemies left and right. Not one man got past them, not one man dared challenge them and survive, not one man.
After only moments into the war march, a cry rang out and echoed across the allied lines, Dong Zhuo had been captured! The battle had been won, and Yan, Rai, and their men had done their part with the aid of Sun Liao, Ji-Huang Liang, and Xiahou Dun. Wei Yan and Lu Rai both would forever be indebted to those men.

:A Feast Fit For Too Many Heroes:
Almost instantly after the final battle against Dong Zhuo a great feast was held in Luo Yang as a "thank you" for all the generals involved with the conflict. Of course, Wei Yan and Lu Rai went. It seemed they were one of the firsts to enter again. This was becoming almost too natural. The two just sat, drank, and ate at their leisure. Who was to say they couldn't?
It wasn't long that the general Sun Yuan Ci entered into the halls. His battlefield brawl had been fabled to every general on the battlefield, but few could say they were within eye-sight of the showdown. Wei Yan was one of those few.
And so, Yan ment to speak with this great warrior, so he did just that. Sun Yuan Ci was the cousin of Sun Liao, the general who'd been there beside Yan and his men at the final showdown. Sun Liao had truly been the reason so many general's made it home that day, and so few enemies saw the light of day. So Yan questioned the warrior to learn of his motives in life. If he was anything like his cousin, Yan saw this man as a great ally.
Indeed! He was like his cousin in many ways. Sun Yuan Ci was good-hearted, humble, wise, and a warrior above all things. So it was here that Wei Yan laid the plans for his future. Yan gave the man the warrior his loyalty above all things in the chaos to come. It wasn't long into the two warriors conversation that word made it's way to Lu Rai of the problems in Chang An, Rai and Yan's new home. So the two warriors left to take care of their city.

The Rebellion of Chang An
The two warriors arrived back at their new home to be greeted with open arms of thrown items. They were bombarded with vegetables and other random items. So Wei Yan and Lu Rai both just swallowed their pride and made their way to the Council Hall.
It was in the council hall they met with The Han's retainer in Chang An. He proceeded to scold Yan and Rai like small children telling them to leave the city and that they were only thorns in his side. So Rai whispered something to Wei Yan and the warrior nodded repeating the plan to the retainer. Yan, Rai, and their men would quell this rebellion for the right to stay.
The retainer was blown away by their words, but agree quickly. He told them of three leaders of the rebellion. Three true thorn's in his side: Bo Ran a farmer, Shu Gan a blacksmith, and Shi Li a bar maiden. So the two warriors spoke of where to go first and it was decided that they would seek out Bo Ran first.
During their walk to the home of Bo Ran the two warriors had to cross a field of haystacks. Not a great obstacle at first glance, but they were sorely mistaken. Once in the middle of the field the two warriors were attacked by twenty of Dong Zhuo's rebels. Leftover scraps from the battles against the alliance. The two warriors made quick work of the enemy and then continued on to the home of Bo Ran.
When they got there and met the farmer, it became very clear that he'd been only a puppet to the rebel's of Dong Zhuo. So Wei Yan had Lu Rai escort the man back to the council chambers while he went to check out the blacksmith.
The first blacksmith Wei Yan interogated was a battered and beaten soul who'd fell victim to the rebellion for being loyal to the retainer. Yan took pity on the man and let him be, promising that after the rebellion had been quelled he'd get the best possible doctor around.
The next blacksmith was another story altogether. Yan barely uttered a word when the smith attacked him. They two fought for a few minutes before finally the smith was bested and knocked unconscious. So there was another leader in Yan's custody as he made his way back towards the council halls.
During Yan's little escapade with the blacksmith, Lu Rai met his own confrontation. Having made his way to just outside the council hall's , Rai was attacked by two female guards who'd not been there before. After slaying the two women, Wei Yan showed up and both men made their way into the council halls to find a simple bar maiden, presumably Shi Li, attempting to assassinate the retainer. The assassin was quickly dealt with by Lu Rai and Wei Yan. The retainer, barely had the breath for all the praising he began doing.
At the end of the rebellion, Bo Ran was allowed to go free for being unable to honeslty do anything more than be a puppet. Shi Li was dealt with before the retainer himself. And Shu Gan was beheaded by Wei Yan for crimes against the Han. All was back to normal in Chang An due to Wei Yan and Lu Rai. Hoo-Rah!
As a token for their service, the city of Chang An presented Wei Yan and Lu Rai with the "Special Shiny Staff of Ming Ching." And so, Yan decided it was the right time to make his own glory.

A Hero Of The People, A Path to Glory
Wei Yan had decided on his path into the History books, he wanted to rule Chang An. He wanted to make the city his own to better all of China. So he plead his case before the council of advisors and retainers of the Han.
At first, all hope seemed lost for the warrior. The council thought him just a berserker, a barbarian of sorts. It wasn't until the people of Chang An arrived. It was here that the council decided Wei Yan had the ability to rule Chang An. So it fell to him now to blaze his own path into history.
Then the question was asked of what to call this new kingdom of his. It took only a few moments for the warrior to decide upon a name. "Glory" he called it. The named puzzled even Lu Rai but Wei Yan felt obligated to give these people that which all free men deserved, Glory. So he planned on doing just that.

And So They Come
It hadn't been long after Wei Yan had gained a bit of fame and the Kingdom of Glory that people began arriving to speak with him. The first individual was Aja Jex.
Aja Jex was a man of power, righteous power, and leadership. He was respectable and brave by his looks, and he chose Wei Yan as his lord. Who was Yan to turn down such a man? He wan't, for he allowed the man into his force with open arms.
The second to come was Lu Meng, famed for not only his battle prowess but also his tactical mind. Wei Yan had met the man during his time in the Dong Zhuo battles and was quite impressed by not only what he knew, but the stories he had told. When Lu Meng said he wished to join Glory's ranks, Yan promptly obligied.

The Golden Horde And It's Lordling
Days passed and quickly turned into months in Chang An. Wei Yan was growing increasingly weary of the Golden Horde in Xi Liang and the formidable Shu to the south of him. It seemed that enemies gathered all around his beloved Chang An. What was a ruler to do? That answer came in the oddest of ways.
A man by the name of Fu Lan arrived in Chang An, his clothings showing his Golden Horde alignment. At first the warrior was hesitant but the man was allowed to speah his peace. Turned out Fu Lan had been sent to invite Wei Yan to a banquet in Xi Liang. Lu Rai promptly disposed of the idea before leaving to make ready, for Yan had decided he was going. It would be a good way to learn of his newest, closest, enemy.
As Fu Lan left he mentioned wanting to overthrow the ruler of Xi Liang, which Wei Yan quickly discarded and made to leave for the banquet. Lu Rai just hung his head and followed regrettably.
The banquet went from humble beginnings to horrid nightmare in a heartbeat. Not only was Wei Yan being threatened as a plotter for assassination, but Xing Cai of Shu, a girl Wei Yan had held on high due to his friendship with Guan Yu, was bareing arms against him. So, thus started the beginning of the end. War was to come upon Chang An.

It All Comes Crumbling Down
So the Golden Horde made their way to Chang An and defenses were set up. First the pits along the rode had been dug, then the fire trap had been readied on the enemies right flank, hoping to grab some extra casualties and drop morale. The Lord of Chang An sent out rally after rally to his men, with Lu Rai standing tall by his side. They were prepared. They were ready. They hadn't seen the army that awaited them.
Mounting the walls Yan's heart sank. The army of the Golden Horde rivaled any that all China could bring together. It was large and number, and power, but not in training. Only the Elite Dragon Calvary of Ma Chao's personal unit would be truly trained for war. That was the difference between Glory and The Golden Horde. Glory had fewer troops, but they were better trained. It would end all for not though.
The battles raged and men ran here and there. The horses had been sent to feign retreat and did so masterfully. They returned headlong into the seige ram and slowed them a bit, but nothing would stop the lumbering hulk that was the Golden Horde. So the seige towers lowered onto the walls just in time for Wei Yan to be greeted by a familiar voice. Sun Liao had came to his aid... Yet again. Again the warrior would be indebted to this man, this Unsung Hero, Sun Liao.
Men came and men fell. All the enemy of Glory bashed upon shield and blade, dying as they crashed upon the cliffside of defense. Lu Rai had been sent to retrieve fish oil... Sun Liao had lit fires. All of Glory saw what was coming, just not Ma Chao. The oil arrived and towers along with rams were set ablaze. Only one would make it out alive, one single seige tower. With that though, Chang An had fallen. Her people had been evacuated and were making for Qi Ning Pass where all of China was rumored to be awaiting to aid the dying Glory.
Then came the horrid! Lu Rai had lead out people, and was defending them against a stray volley of arrows when tragedy struck! He was.. Wounded.. mortally. The wounds would not be his death though! No... He charged head long into another allied officer's ranks to aid him. That officer was the old war veteran, Huang Zhong, friend of Sun Liao. Any friend of Sun Liao was welcome on Yan's battlefield, just... Rai...
It's a horrid memory now. Lu Rai fell in a blaze of glory, and one brave horsebowmen returned his headband, shield, and shortsword to the forever wounded Wei Yan. Ma Chao the Splendid had just sealed his fate as The Late Ma Chao. Nothing would stop the war hulk that had became Wei Yan. Nothing...

:The Champion of Qiang:
After the fall of Chang An Wei Yan fell back to Qi Ning Pass and met up with the allies, mainly Sun Liao. Yan made his way into a small forest to prepare an ambush, his only thought was to strike out against the Ma Chao.
Well the moments passed like decades and finally the Golden Horde came into sight. So Wei Yan did what the berserker did best, he charged. Into the lines Yan and his men crashed. They fought, and fought, and fought. Nothing seemed to slow them, except casualties. Finally they were too many and the words of Sun Liao, and a new War-Maiden, Yu Xueman, made Yan retreat.
Then the retreat ended and the three turned and charged the lines of the Golden Horde. A connection plunged into their minds and they fought as one for a moment, Wei Yan himself had been challenged by the Champion of Qiang, a man who bore the head of Lu Rai like a trophy. He was as good as dead.
Sun lioa was a spring board that launched Wei Yan at the Champion. The two battled and battled, the fight seemed like it would last for days, and then finally Yan got his chance. He struck the Champion in the heart, killing him, but the Champion struck Yan as well. His left hip, the same hip that he'd been struck in by a man during the Dong Zhuo Conflict. Wei Yan... Fell...

He struck the Champion in the heart, killing him, but the Champion struck Yan as well. His left hip, the same hip that he'd been struck in by a man during the Dong Zhuo Conflict. Wei Yan... Fell...
::The Death of Wei Yan::
After the battle of Qi Ning Pass, all recollection of The Ruler of Glory, Wei Yan is stricken from the record of history. Though men like him appear for the next forty years all over China, none of them are enough for anyone to consider the two men one in the same.
