History
A Villain Is Born
A native of the Ba Shu region. He was the son of a soldier. When his father died putting down a rebellion, he gathered up a group of youths and ransacked his village, killing many of the ones that started the rebellion. He became a local legend after this, but he knew he could not return home. He and his very small group of youths left their home. They became bandits, hunting down any kind of murderer. Their primary target was anyone who was discontent with the ruling power.
The local authorities took notice of their actions, and eventually the governor hired them as his bodyguards. This gave Ren an opening to be much more influential. He negated his influence however by being very rash. He did however, control the governor's actions without knowing it. About a year after getting appointed to the guard post, the governor made him commander of the local militia.
Shortly after this, another large scale rebellion started up, and Ren was sent to quell it. The two forces fought in the streets of Ba Zhou for the better part of two days, eventually Ren, as able a commander as he was, was forced out due to the sheer numbers of the rebels. His men numbered roughly six hundred survivors. They eventually came to the general concensous that they couldn't return, for they would be hated. So, Ren once again was forced to live the life of an exile.
