The Consumption of Darkness
Dagoth Ur watched as his arrows skimmed Niu Fu's body, the first having been mis-lead by the wind whilst the other splatted against his ... sandwich.
"Well....you don't see that everyday." He turned as he spoke, his own soldiers having formed a line behind him, awaiting whatever orders were to come, "Ahh, ignore the fire, we have better things to do for today." The men sighed, even if under the leadership of the Dark knight they didn't approve of his somewhat, crude ways. Still, they listened - and thats all Dagoth needed of them whilst he prepared the boats.
"We'll head over to the boats right away, the journey can be used to relax, although i presume our landing will not be an easy one."
His predictions were most likely correct, he had no idea what laid beyond such seas, and all that he could muster from whatever Intel had been shared among the troops was that a large army would probably greet them, with swords, spears and thousands of bows an arrows. The thought of the battle excited him though, the idea of his troops charging upon the sandy grass plains, dodging arrows and avoiding whatever traps laid before them. The rush of battle, he believed - was a rush that even sexual intercourse could not quite compensate for.
"Let's go." he barked the orders as he himself ran to the boats, aligning a set of four first before assembling whatever was needed to carry his small squadron. behind him stood 60 soldiers, some were injured, others tired, but the majority seemed alright, their health was in tact - even if their spirits were still weak by the ambush they had received earlier in the night.
"Remember, team 1 is to use their shields in front and on the side,s whilst team two lock their shields above team 1's, that way - we won't have much worry dealing with any enemy fire, and since we lack archers, theres no point keeping an open view, save 5 men to help steer the boats, I'll keep on look out from the high platform."
And so the army was in motion, their feet pounded the soil, their arms clattered against their armour and their swords knocked uneasily against their shields. It was a time of war, and Dagoth had nothing better to do but to provide such a war, for both himself, and for the Morag Tong.
Dagoth ur mounts the boats right away, and begins to leave for the enemy shore. It should also be noted that he purposely ignored the fire and the injured, it seems he doesn't care much for Han soldiers.

Seeing that the white warrior had abandoned those who needed help, Jiao shook his head; always the one for personal desires. He was the Yellow Turban that the Courts painted for the people, none of such mettle would enter the Heavenly Hand. Though it was foolish for him to leave the shores with only a handful of men, recklessness was foolish and surely he would be struck by the Heavens. "He Jin, help the men here. Cross the water once all is done." Looking to his men Zhang Jiao gestured for them to follow him, they were leaving. Even though Dagoth Ur was a man of death Jiao could not allow harm to come to him; after all he did spend much time within the camps of the Yellow Scarves. The white cloud approached two of the boats, a large part of the allied force were leaving; if Dong Zhuo planned another raid then they surely would be destroyed without him. "Children of the Heavenly Hand, we cross this water to finaly bring the Hand of judgement upon Dong Zhuo". Quickly the white clad troops mounted the boats, they all anticipated the battle ahead of them; the prospect of facing Lu Bu, Hua Xiong and Dong Zhuo would place fear in anyone however they knew Zhang Jiao would protect them...
... Reaching his arms into the air the Sage made gestures of worship to the skies. "Heavens, allow your children safe crossing and to give them strength to thwart the enemies of your Celestial Palace!" Pointing to the boat Zhang Jiao smiled, the former Yellow Scarf leader moved closer to the waters. "Use us as the tools of judgement for our very beings are dedicated to you!" Knowing that the Heavens would hear his words, Jiao walked onto the boat with Gong Ce. In his mind the Great Teacher spoke of words for the protection of Dagoth Ur, knowing one day the Heavens would see his tainted actions Jiao did not wish harm on him. The boats were now loose, free to enter the waters; gaining balance the men prepared themselves to meet the force of Dong Zhuo; the redemption of Zhan Jiao began...
Zhang Jiao enters the boats with his men and leaves the shore to cross the waters!

Many more men had begun to gather around the shoreline, loading up their boats in a mixture of zeal, enthusiasm, and perhaps a little too much arrogance. Many of the men still lay wounded, though now that the construction of the temporary camp was underway, the allies assault was imminent. The wind was perfect, it rushed through the air like a wave carrying each man’s ambition; a time it seems would be foolish not to capitalise on. The river was wide, the distance to travel was far, and what awaited them on the other side was unknown; yet the men who fell here today would’ve died for nought, should the allies turn back now. With the arrival of legendary commanders such as Gongsun Zan, perhaps the men’s spirits could be lifted, enough to reach Zhang Jiao’s so called heavens. Though with Gongsun Zan’s arrival came with it under appreciation of one of the battles finest warriors - Zhou Tai. The latter had slaughtered many a foe, and his efforts resulted in the capture of Dong Min; Zan would be wise to contemplate these factors should the alliance wish to remain strong. These thoughts worried Huangfu Song, who was aware of the perils across the shore, but his complaints would have to be brushed aside for the greater cause. It was then Song caught the eye of the one-eyed general, Xiahou Dun, being one of the few, if the only, compassionate enough, and indeed wise enough to establish this temporary camp. The general smiled with gratitude, his lips turning upwards in the corners, his appreciation fully shown by a reverent nod. “Thank you lord Dun, your actions have helped greatly here. It seems I cannot expect all to respect the Han’s soldiers, even though it is they who won this war today.” Song cast his gaze out to the shores, where he witnessed the likes of Dagoth Ur riding out across the water without due consideration of the souls that fell today. His fist clenched slightly at the disrespect, but again, time gave him no freedom to fret over the irreverent. “The camp is established well enough, and the sing will be attended to accordingly. I suggest you gather the rest of your men and load up the boats - we cannot let our allies become astray from us!” Song clasped his fist in his palm, and then bowed before Xiahou Dun. The man had left an impact on the Han general: not all were corrupt, it seemed. With his own preparations made, Huangfu Song then made his own way towards the boats, not without first approaching his lord, He Jin. The man spoke no words to the commander, but instead awaited his next orders. Somehow he felt he already knew what they were, indeed the boats needed to be prepared, now that Zhang Jiao, a key part of their alliance, had already set sail. Briefly, Song cast his gaze out to the waters. Not long to go now.. Huangfu Song has thanked Xiahou Dun, and is now preparing to leave, on He Jin’s orders!

The sound of thundering hoof beats resonated through the forest as a hundred men and their Female Officer raced toward the Allied Camp. The collective sound might bring one to think that they were under attack again from behind, especially so late in the game. Who really would of expected more to show up to fight against the Cruelties of Dong Zhuo?
The dark haired woman pushed her Dapple Gray horse, urging her to move faster toward the shoreline. The battalion was starting to see the beginnings of the Fires and Causalities of the night raid. This far in, all the fired had been put out and the dead already buried. Golden eyes took this in, even at such a fast pace. Xifeng never missed anything… Attention to detail was something that was important to her.
Finally, she called to her men to slow, but allowed herself to pull ahead of them to enter into the Allied Camp alone. After all, she wouldn’t want them to think they were attacking, now would she? At the edge of the camp, she finally reigned her horse into a trot, then slowed even more till she finally was at a stop at the shoreline in which so many were leaving. The Officer stood in her stirrups, Syto snorting lightly underneath her.
“My Lords! Accept the help of me and my men in the battle against Dong Zhuo, the Intolerable Tyrant!”
There was no mistaken who this was; The Beautiful Devil, Xifeng Yue. One of the rare woman officers that existed in China… And one of the more well known. Her piercing, golden eyes that were the center of most of her legends swept around the camp and the rubble in it. One hand held the reins of her horse, the other was extended outward to call forth her Horse Lancers, all one hundred of them battle ready and itching for battle. Better late than Never! The Beautiful Devil appears to reinforce the Allies!

****************************** He Jin was overlooking the final preparations for launching the boats from the shore when he saw a powerful looking female warrior arrive on the field. It was not often that woman would engage in combat, but certainly not often that they would have such an aura of strength and determination. The men would be foolish to not keep their tongues still inside their mouths for this woman could be the end of them. Not only that, she was pretty hawt! Jin cocked his eyebrows and was daydreaming for a moment as Zhang Ren had approached. Behind Ren, Huangfu Song could be seen speaking and working with Xiahou Dun. It seemed many people were true in their intentions, though there were others present it seemed. Turning to face Zhang Ren, He Jin noted his well thought out plan; a successful one at that. "Very well done, Ren, you are truly a man of both strategy and skill on the battlefield."The Commander placed his hand upon the warrior's shoulder and urged him to face the river. Both men looked out across the perilous water, not so much due to the river conditions but what was waiting for them on the other shore. More than likely, a few of the officers would lose their lives. Maybe that is why Jin took the personal time to reflect with Zhang Ren. Perhaps the brave warrior would never return! "We are leaving, so prepare your men. On the other side of the river you can show me just what you are made of and hopefully we will have gotten word from your spy" he said, pointing toward the beach where many others were gathering; some pushing off the shore already. Then, there came the wily Ba Zeng. No one knew of the man's true intentions nor was it a major issue at the time. All the Han force wanted to know is if the man would fight and die for the cause. He was present on the shoreline, helping the wounded, so it could be assumed he was there to help. Curious though, that he went out of his way to aid an enemy soldier when others were being impaled on the end of a Han spear! Either way, again the strange Zeng did not speak with He Jin and it seemed his chance would be over as the Grand Commander began to move toward the boats. There, his veterans started to pile onto 2 to 3 boats. Also, the rest of the army under Huangfu Song and Zhu Jun would get aboard. Each general was upon a ship of their own and the officers could choose to join them or take their own boat. The officers who had left the shore already would not get far as the rest of the army was beginning to follow. Boats were pushed off and the journey had begun! Soldiers who were not very sea worthy, though only a river, put their faces overboard to vomit. Better to get it out now then right before landing on a beach with thousands of arrows ripping you apart. He Jin took his position at the head of a large boat, giving him a good view of the wide river. Ahead, he could just make out the fleeing Zhuo soldiers; the few that had survived. It seemed that the allies had their own tricks up their sleeves with fresh spies on Niu Fu's boat! He Jin and his entire main army have boarded boats and have pushed off onto the river! The rest of the allies should do the same shortly, after a few more posts upon the shore if necessary. The entire fleet will arrive around the same time, most likely, and there are to be some 'on the water posts'. Many of the officers can still grow their bonds or hype each other up for the battle ahead while on the boats!******************************** Niu Fu listened to what sounded like Han soldiers betraying their former lords. Though he was slightly impressed and glad, such people could not really be trusted. It did help that the men stated waiting for him as he did not want to get drawn and quartered by the old guy who was chasing him down. As a matter of fact, it seemed as if he could be the most wanted person in the whole battle. Fu was actually such a fool that he was enjoying the thoughts of being famous instead of realizing the reprocussions of such events. Many of the allies, warriors that Fu would have trouble defeating, were now out for his blood and finally it sank in. "Hmmmmm, maybe i should lay low for awhile" he said to himself, looking over his shoulder at the 'new' men who were jibber-jabbering constantly. Were they nervous? Were they spies!? "Hey, you guys want a piece of this sandwich?"Niu Fu was clueless. Niu Fu acts suspicious and then shows how dumb he is!

Xiahou Dun return the same gestur to Huangfu Song and headed back towards Xiahou Yuan. He had the men whom were watching over the equipment head for an empty ship and then the camp builders move toward a second boat for Xiahou Yuans troops as well.
"Well brother Yuan, shall we go?"
While the last load of troops had taken the wounded they were helping to the designated areas and then head for the boat. He was sure Xiahou Yuan would be off soon and once his men return he would be right behind him.
Prepared boats for his and Xiahou Yuan's troops to cross

As Zhou Tai finished conversing with Zei Fang, he looked at everyone leaving, particularly, The strange, cloaked man. As soon as he and his troops began leaving, Zhou Tai spoke. "Come, men, we must leave for the enemy shore. Quickly."
His men all stood up and walked collectively towards the boats. When they arrived, they all piled into two seperate boats(assuming the boats aren't that huge), 40 with Zei Fang, and 45 with Zhou Tai. Before leaving, Zhou Tai had a brief word with his understudy. "I'm going to tell you right off kid... assaulting from water to land is possibly one of the hardest things to do. So, I'm going to tell you right now that this won't be easy. Just be ready for whatever comes."
Zei Fang, almost astonished by his leader's... was he afraid of going from water to land? No, no, Zhou Tai was never afraid... he wasjust being cautious. "Y-Yes, sir, Zhou Tai."
"Please, skip the sirs and masters from now on. We're blood brothers, and we don't need one calling the other Master Tai anymore."
Zei Fang was now, for once, speechless. He had admired this warrior for so long, and now, finally, he was considered his equal. Zei Fang couldn't hope but beam as he walked onto his boat. Once all the warirors were one, they followed right next to the head of He Jin's army.
*Zei Fang has been given a major Morale Boost! Zhou Tai and Zei Fang are heading for the enemy shorel-line!*

Having done their part to deal with the fire, Qu Yi sought out Zhang He, who was indeed in his tent practicing his delivery.
"How now brown cow? How now brown cow? How now brown-"
"Sir! Reporting in." Qu Yi interrupted as he entered the tent. Zhang He pouted as he turned to his lieutenant.
"Oh, come now, you couldn't have waited until I finished? Honestly..."
"Sorry, but I think this is more important than your enunciation exercises. He Jin has given the order to advance." Qu Yi was known among Yuan Shao's officers for his haughtiness and ignorance of protocol; however, he was an exceptional leader, so it was largely forgiven. Yuan Shao had assigned him to serve under Zhang He partially, Junyi suspected, so that Benchu wouldn't have to deal with them. He sighed and exited the tent ahead of Qu Yi almost resignedly.
"Fine, fine, we'll accompany the main army. I was hoping the oh-so-magnanimous Grand Commander would allow us the night's rest..." Together, the two men gathered Zhang He's army. As he surveyed them, Junyi noticed something odd. "Lieutenant, since when did we have swordsmen? And did our army really suffer..." he paused to find the right word, "negative losses? There are nearly twice as many men here as when we set out."
"Oh, you didn't hear?" replied Qu Yi, "Lord Benchu has left his army to your care and withdrawn. Seems He Jin's victory was a bit too sweet for our glorious master to bear." He smirked as he spoke.
"Beautiful! We shall lead the forces of Yuan Shao in his stead, and seize glory in his name! To the boats, and take care, lest the enemy attempt to surprise us again. Onward, with beauty and grace!" Junyi laughed and struck a pose as his ubiquitous butterflies scattered from where he stood. Qu Yi made to say something, but stopped, shook his head, and sighed. As Junyi dashed off to the boats, Qu Yi barked orders to the men, who dutifully, if confusedly, followed their commander across the river.
Having dealt with the fire, Zhang He's unit boards some boats and advances across the river. They advance slowly and methodically, so as to spot any traps, ambushes, or surprises that Dong Zhuo may have left for the allies. To be safe, Qu Yi scouts ahead with 20 Sword and Shield veterans and 20 Bow Veterans.
Zhang He's Troops: (Main Force) 80 Shield and Spear Veterans 40 Bow Veterans 20 Sword and Shield Veterans
Qu Yi's Troops: (Advance Force) 20 Sword and Shield Veterans 20 Bow Veterans

As a women rode her horse with a man following she gave out another small sigh. "Remind me once again why were doing this" the women was in pure dark clothing and most of her face was hidden. "This will effect us as much as the people here" the man said on the horse next to her. "I am merely here to help you, not to fight, you get across that river your on your own" the man looked like he was quiet a bit older then the women on the horse. She didn't look any older then about eighteen yet she didn't seem to act like she was that young.
"Hm I suppose" she said realizing that he might of had a point as she continued riding her horse. Petting her horse slightly they had finally arrived, just sitting there for a moment she looked around. Nodding over to the man he muttered good luck and rode off leaving her alone. He was far to concerned about her getting there safely, she would of probably gotten there sooner if he wouldn't have insisted on coming to make sure she got there safely. Xiaoli Qing was perfectly capable of getting there on her own and safely she didn't need a bodyguard to help her get around, plus it just drew attention.
You of course couldn't call her alone due to the fact that she had troops with her but still there wasn't really harm out there to her. Stopping for a moment she looked back at her men and nodded so that they would all start entering. Of course none of them looked to be all that much of a threat to anyone in the camp because they weren't trying to come off as one. When they were fighting that was when it really counted anyways. As she got off her horse and held onto the reigns in her hands she took in the area.
Feeling the cloth on her face she sighed that would probably just make her appear a little strange so she took it off. Her light pink lips pursed together as she continued to look around. Giving a small nod to people here and there she really couldn't believe that her father wanted her to help. After all most of these sorts of things he took into his own hands so this was the first time any of these people most likely had ever seen her. As she took off the cloth some people turned there faces to see out of curiosity as she decided to get back on her horse she got back on it like it was nothing.
Her eyes appeared to be a gray as she continued to look around for a while before focusing. Guessing she had arrived just in time as she watched the boats. People were getting on them she guessed and shipping off. "Okay men, lets go" she said looking at them and then spinning on her heals as she walk. Most people that she walked by looked at her due to the fact that she was women and plus she looked young to be there.
She really didn't stop to talk to anyone just merely gave a glance here and there, if someone wanted to talk to her then they could. After all there wasn't anything stopping them as she got her men on a ship there was about 100 of them(50 bows and 50 Ruffian swords and shields). Yet it seemed like each boat could carry more then just her men. Some of them men on her boat she knew weren't hers but she didn't care all that much. They were all here for one goal and it really didn't mind there differences.

Ba Zeng heaved another bucket of water on a dieing flame then took a break. He realized everyone was going somewhere. Oh, yeah, the boats. Duh. He was breathing heavily and wiped his forehead witha cloth. He was running around, body to body helping wounded soldiers, Zhou or Han it didn't matter. If he could save a life he would. Some of the generals here probably didn't know that Ba Zeng was a skilled doctor. In fact, he has practiced on cadaver's before dug up from there graves. They were dead and no were using them so Ba Zeng said what the hell. Dissecting humans gave more knowledge of the world and them selfs. Of course Ba Zeng never told anyone that he payed thugs to go grave robbing.
I should probably hire someone to take those people out too...
Being a political, scientist, and diplomat all in one, Ba Zeng was used to underhanded tricks. Assassination, exploitation, bribery, black mailing. You name it. The fact was that, Ba Zeng was probably going to hell. At least here he was using his powers for good, helping the wounded with his medical knowledge.
I won't do much good over there... Ba Zeng thought looking at the enemy shoreline over the river, he had just finished patching up a Han soldier and checking his breathing and heart rate. Never was... He gave his water skin to the soldier, it was full again because he had just refilled it.
"Keep it I'm not the one who's half dead." Ok so not the best thing to say while offering water to a wounded soldier, but Ba Zeng didn't stop to think, he started to walk faster. He had just saw someone board a ship, and he was going to get on that same boat.
He Jin
He ordered his soldiers to board another boat and he would meet up with them. Hopefully if there were any boat to boat action they would be under a competent commander, and not, lets say, Zhou Tai.
Ba Zeng hurried up, the boats were being prepared to leave, he was walking fast and made the boat were He Jin was. When on it he couldn't spot him though. Such a big crowd. Lots of soldiers. He tried to make his way through the huge maze of soldiers and spot He Jin as he inched deeper within the boat. Whilst walking he made sure he had a cartage of bolts ready on his crossbow as it clung to his side. His other hand resting on his rapier.
No, he wasn't going to kill He Jin, but it was best to be prepared, for anything.

Lu Zhi wasn't really payingmuch attention to who was on the boat as he and his remaining veteran soldiers, numbering 80 in all, marched up and onto one of the boats heading to the enemy forces of Dong Zhuo and in pursuit of the retreating enemy forces. He stared hard at the enemy ships and was deep in thought.
He could not help but feel joy and excitement mixed in with a sense of danger. He was excited at the fact that they could now vanquish the enemy once and for all and rid the capital of that vicious tyrant Dong Zhuo. Once again the Han would be saved and continue to rule as the great empire it was, well as soon as they dealt with that ZhangJiao thug anyway.
However he felt a little sense of danger and worried a little. The enemy would of sure prepared a defence plan for the event they managed to survive the night raid and attack the enemy. Infact that may very well have been their original intention all along, provoking them to attack and then pick them off while weakened from the encouter with the night raid party. He felt they were walking into a trap.
"My men, remain on guard and keep watch closely on the enemy ranks and any suspicious activity. We may have fended off the Night Raid but do not let that make you get ahead of yourself you must remain on guard and ever vigilant for the real fight is yet to come! As we fight and slay that Tyrant DOng Zhuo and save the HAN!! Let us march to war and end this brutal conflict once and for all!! to VICTORY!"
Lu Zhi unsheathed his sword and raised it high above him with the sunlight above shining off it as he bellowed the last word of "victory". He smiled as his soldiers cheered, his speech had evidentely helped their morale and soon very soon the real battle would begin. As soon as they arrived at the enemy's shore.
"Dong Zhuo, Niu Fu prepare to face your deaths. In the name of the Han. Your lives will end in this battle and the land shall rejoice once more as peace shall once again come to this land. The Han empire will be rightfully restored and the kingdom's once great glory and prosperity with it!"
His eyes gleaned at the thought. Yet he had a small feeling of unease that this might just be the beginning of more trouble to come unless the regionallords were stripped of power...

"I guess I didn't move fast enough. Dagoth Ur and his men have already moved into boats, and are promptly leaving. Bah! Just as well, actions speak louder than words, and this Lu Bu that has his fear striking story spreading across the land seems like a good place to start!" Wei Yan said as he watched the remained of Dagoth Ur's men get into the boats. With a slight shrug the big warrior turning and rounded up his own men from their work at the camps.
"Lu Rai, I do believe our work is done here. If He Jin is leaving, then all is well enough here. We now head to make war with Dong Zhuo. I want you to take full lead of my twin axes during this confrontation, and just as before, if I am without orders you take the reins. Understood?" Yan asked in a very stern commanding demeanor. Lu Rai just nodded and gallopped away to begin loading the men onto boats.
Another man had caught Yan's attention as well though, The Great Teacher. This man, a great enemy of the Han, had enough wisdom to atleast set aside his own battles to face the Tyrant. He only wished the same could be said of Han officers, who still start striking the Yellow Scarves out of drunkeness and old wounds. Maybe these rebels had some point after all. Nevertheless, that was a conversation for Lu Rai later and possibly more people even farther later after that, but still Yan couldn't help but marvel at the masses that followed this Zhang Jiao.
Finally shaking the thoughts from his head, Wei Yan made his way to the boats where all the rest of his unit and Lu Rai were waiting.
"Shove off! We're already late, Lu Rai! We will break this habit soon enough!"

With a final salute, Gongsun remounted. He showed his age, taking two pulls to get up into the saddle. He looked around slightly embarrassed, noting that not many people were paying attention to him.
Well then!
He gave a roaring command to his men, To the boats! Before he himself rode off towards them. He noted many fine warriors amongst the throngs entering the wooden floating palisades, their walls meant to deflect and embed arrows, while keeping the ships afloat. He took up at the forefront of one boat, his men also trying to move to the front. His idea was to cause immediate shock value against the enemy, his gleaming white steeds being quite a site upon arriving on the island.
Zan himself moved back, however, towards the boat's command tent, and spoke to the captain of the ship, and anyone else aboard his ship.
"How long til we arrive at the shore?"

With all of his allies moving towards the boats and re-grouping Meng thought he would do the same, as his Spearmen came back from aiding the wounded and his Swordsmen coming from putting out the fire, Meng didn't really have much of an option but to just baord the boats and just await for another order.

An Bo had been wandering around the camp after leaving the camp fire for some time. His mind was wandering as much as he was. He had to consider many things, this night. Would he aid these people, these men of his homeland he barely knew? Would his initial dislike of them wane? All of these questions were interrupted by a strange but recognizable sound. An Bo paused in his tracks.
The sound of the incoming arrow only noticeable because of the sound of the flame it carried. An Bo did not move, or even lift his head as the arrow pierced his straw hat. The arrow went cleanly through it but stopped at the fletching. It had to be fired at maximum range, he thought. The flaming tip of the arrow was almost blinding to him, as it was in his face. An Bo slowly reached his hand up and grasped the arrow head, and snapped it clean off, ignoring the pain of the flames as he tossed it aide. He started to walk again, his steps light and almost soundless as he moved. He removed the arrow shaft.
There was only one place the arrow could have came from, the river. And it was there he went.
The sounds of men crying, and general chaos consumed the camp. Perhaps there was a battle. It didn't matter. An Bo moved to the river side, taking his time. By the time he got there men were gathering around boats, ready to cross the river.
"So there is battle" An Bo said softly.
He walked to the nearest boat, and spoke in a firm tone to the nearest solider.
"I wish passage across the river, will you accommodate me?"
An Bo did this with his head down, and his hand on the hilt of his blade under his robes. Silent, he waited a response.
((( anyone who cares to reply to this, feel free. I require only person, as I wish to rp across the river with the battle. It does not matter if this is an enemy boat, either.)))
