(((Let it be known I'm moving this duel to IC, taking place after Guan Yu leaves the banquet, whenever that will be and after Wei Yan took control of Chang An.)))
The berserking warrior was hunched a bit, both his arms were up, muscles tight ready to act. The warrior had completely forgot about the axe upon his back, mainly due to the fact that the weapon would be hard to use and not hurt someone. For a moment he began to stalk around his opponent, then the man had spoke.
It took almost all Wei Yan had to force his adrenaline down. It wasn't something the warrior was used to doing. Never actually had Yan ever had to force away his adrenaline, he always embraced it fully. For a moment, he found himself feeling light headed, and then with a gruff snarl and the shake of his head he was back to normal.
"A draw? Very well, Master Guan Yu. I can take a draw to such a strong opponent, especially when you are correct; much more can be accomplished."

Guan Yu nodded and chuckled a little. He ran his left hand through his beard for a moment. He looked at Wei yan, seeing him calm himself. He was.. amazed to say the least. It had been a while since he had dealt with such a challenge, though he knew as long as Wei Yan had energy they would have kept going with the spar they had.
Guan pulled Wei Yan's spear from the ground and extended it towards Wei Yan, so that he could take his rightful weapon. Guan lifted his Green Dragon out of the ground and used his hand to brush any dirt it would have collected from having it in the ground.
"I don't believe I've fought a match like you since Brother Zhang. That was a pure show of skill. Now.. what was this you spoke of earlier?...Following your own morals?"

A cracking sound ushered from Wei Yan as he popped his neck a few times. Afterwards the warrior took his spear back and placed it back upon his back. Nodding a bit, Yan began his speech.
"Yes. My morals. You see, I fought against Dong Zhuo for the moral of Justice. You can't slay an emperor and expect no one to try and bring you to justice. I went to Chang An seeking peace, another moral. It was there I found rebellion, and again Justice had to be shown. From there the people decided I was to be their leader, so here I am. A man of my morals and you see what all it has given me? Why do anything else but follow my own morals?"

"Truly interesting. Your feats on the field against Dong Zhuo were quite magnificent. Justice and Peace. A lot of men vie for it. Hopefully we can find ourselves more of allies than enemies. To go against your morals is a crime against yourself. If you can't govern yourself you can't govern a city.. right?"
Guan looked to Wei Yan with a grin. He closed his eyes as he sat against a hay stack. He sighed with relief from not having to stand longer. He felt as though he was too old, when he knew that he should be doing more. He was just too used to the saddle. Next battle.. I'll go on foot. He thought to himself and looked to Wei Yan with a small smile.
"I agree with you though. Why fight for anything if not your morals. That is why I stand by my brother's side. He stands for the things that I do... and to protect him is now a part of my goals."

"Interesting..." stated Wei Yan partially in thought as he sat straight down, his legs crossed. With that he brought his spear around and rested it across his lap and balanced himself to the spear. It was his personal martial habit. Lu Rai called his paranoia of battle, but whenever there would be a chance to fight Wei Yan had to sit at the ready.
"Master Guan Yu, I would have thought you the kind of man who would lead himself, not be lead by another. Do you fear this Liu Bei you follow? You say he is your brother? Your smaller brother speaks for you? Quite interesting. I mean not to question your way of life, it just seems odd to me. I've always been the loud, outspoken person. My companion, Lu Rai, just always does the cleaning up once I've said my peace. He must always be so politically correct." The last few lines Wei Yan joked as he laughed slightly. He never understood his friend's need to impress people. Sadly, most people didn't understand it either.

Guan Yu stroked his beard and let out a short laugh. He seemed like an old man sharing tales with another. He was in fact, enjoying this talk, and the last few statements from Wei Yan triggered his laugh.
"Wei Yan.. to have someone follow after you from fear, is nothing but a sure way to being killed by them. I do not fear Liu Bei. Though I may be somewhat of a good general.. I am no where fit to run an entire army. I do not appeal to the people.. Men like.. Zhang Jiao and brother Liu Bei.. it as if the people are drawn to them. They look to them with hope and find comfort knowing that they are their leaders. Men like me, and my other brother Zhang Fei.. we are more of the muscel for the kingdom."
Guan Yu stopped for a moment looking to Wei Yan, to see what kind of critical face he would have for him. Then he looked to His partner..Lu Rai.
"Brother Liu is a soft person. He does not find it in his heart to slay those who are not in wrong of the Han. He impressed me when he slew Hua Xiong. I and Zhang are there to act whenever he finds himself unable to. The way we met was interesting but we felt a kindred bond that moment.. Ha. Listen to me rambling like an old fool."
Guan said before laughing again for a short period.

For a moment Wei Yan just looked the man over, lulling around his words in his head. He was quickly brought back when Lu Rai walked over to him, whispered some words in his ear and quickly left.
"Well, friend. It seems people are waiting for me back in Chang An. Your Lord, Liu Bei? I would love to speak with him. It'd be rather impressive to see a man that you hold high in action. I hope you think about what I asked you when it comes to Ma Chao, for it seems he sends an envoy to my doorstep. I hope your lord chooses in my favor, for I too am here for just the people."
With that, Wei Yan stood and placed his spear back upon his back. Before turning away he bowed, punching a fist into an open palm and then making his way out to his horse, leaving for Chang An.

"We will see. Hopefully my lord shall allow me to assist you... though Ma Chao seems to be an impressive warrior as well."
Guan stood as he repeated the same bow to Wei Yan as he had received. He went to his red hare and started to mount it, his guan dao still in hand, just as he had rode to the barracks.

((Meh... Why waste a thread... I'll just retitle it... COME ON IN ZHANG FEI))
After arriving in Shu on the Red Hare Guan had walked around a bit. He smiled taking in the air and surroundings of his home. he had missed it. He was to be stationed in Yun Nan soon and he would try to get on the good side of a few of the natives, but for now... he wanted to warm up again and make sure that Zhang Fei was still capable of defending their brother in his absence.
TIme had passed and Guan had invited Zhang to a spar in the barracks. Of course they would use their weapons, though they would have to take care that they would not deal any fatal harm to the other or to dismember each other. The goal of the duel was to put the other to a point to where they gave in, or to disarm the other successfully.
"Are you ready Zhang Fei?"

Zhang Fei yawned as Guan Yu spoke to him.He was bored and drinking was only fun for so long.Fei held the mighty Serpent Spear across his shoulders with one arm as he replied to his 'elder' brother.
"Yeah. This'll be funner then trying to drill those soldiers!"
With that said,Zhang Fei burst into a run within moments and the Serpent Spear lead Fei's charge as it sliced the air in two.The Curved Blade made a bee-line for Guan Yu's Shoulder.

Guan watched his brother move towards him and readied himself. His hands were set a pretty good distance from each other on his Green Dragon, the left being near the base of the handle and the right being toward the head. He held it so that the blade was close to the ground and the butt was in the air, nearly eye level with Guan.
As Zhang's spear came towards Guan's shoulder, he twisted at his waist so that his upper body had turned, the spear going past Guan's chest now instead of hitting his shoulder. Guan grinned and lifted his Green Dragon's head so that it would smack the Serpeant Spear upwards and cause some inbalance for Zhang Fei.
Using this time Guan took a few steps backwards with his hands back on his Green Dragon in the standard way to holding it and looked to Zhang Fei.
"Brother Fei. You are a remarkable duelist, though, you seem to let the wine in your stomach guide you instead of your experience and intuition. Lead more with whats in your head not in your stomach."
Guan said chuckling. He knew that saying such a thing would slightly upset Zhang, though they both knew that it was somewhat true. Now was the time if Guan could see that his brother could keep his calm longer than expected.

The Warrior from Yan quickly regained his balance and smirked as he kept the Serpent Spear pointed at Guan Yu.He replied without letting his guard down.
"I think that attacking fast and all the time leaves you any time to think or rest. You know me that well,eh?"
Fei then charged once again,he stopped once he could reach Guan Yu with the Serpent Blade.Fei swiped at Guan Yu's Stomach horozontily.

Guan nodded. His brother's mind set was understandable, but it wouldn't work against every opponent. Men such as Guan Yu and Liu Bei who have been around Zhang Fei a considerable amount of time and have seen him duel plenty of times would know to think ahead since he does such acts.
Guan turned his body at his waist again, knowing that he wouldn't be able to dodge the attack the same way again. He instead lowered the head of his Green Dragon again and caught the Serpent Spear's head against the back of the Green Dragon's blade. Guan looked to his brother, keeping the blades at the same place focusing his strength to do so.
"That... is a sensible tactic, but it is not going to work every time."
Guan spoke to Zhang with the determined voice he held. It was common when Guan was going to be putting his all into a duel. He knew that his brother was noone to play with so he would not play around himself.

"We'll see about that!"
Zhang Fei quickly broke the deadlock and tilted his spear towards the sky,the head pointed towards the clouds.Within a mere second,Fei placed his hands further apart on the hilt and swung the hilt at the Green Dragon's Blade.
Fei intended to knock the Green Dragon to the side.Yide knew that Yunchang would not easily let go of his treasured Guandao and followed up the disarming move by bending his knees.
Zhang Fei lowered his body to a crouch and swept the Serpent Spear at Guan Yu's Feet. The Green Giant was heavy, but if he didn't get knocked to his feet perhaps he would fall to his knees.
If neither was the case then Zhang Fei was in trouble....

Guan's eyes widened for a moment as he felt his polearm feel like it was being jerked away from him. He released it from his right hand, though his left hand gripped it tighter than before. Guan almost let out a breath of relief as he felt something pushing against the back of his legs. The sudden force from the Serpent Spear against the back of his legs and the strength of Zhang Fei was a bit much for the Big Green Machine and he fell backwards.
Even with the fall, the reactions of a duelist was those to be envied. Even those with the size of Zhang Fei and Guan Yu could be remarkable with their reflexes. As soon as Guan's back touched the ground he rolled away from Zhang Fei, rising to his feet quickly as well. He chuckled as he ran his free hand through his beard, straightening it.
"That was a nice move Zhang Fei. Heh. Shall we continue?... or have you tired yourself yet?"
Guan asked with a smirk. Again he was testing Zhang Fei's patience. He knew that at times things needed to be said, and he could feel that Zhang Fei was being cautious. Though, this did conflict with himself. He'd want to duel his brother at his best... not when he was infuriated, but also not when he was being overly cautious. Guan stood straight and ran his hand through his beard once more, before holding his Green Dragon with both hands and pointing the head of it towards Zhang Fei, as though asking to begin again.
