Chengdu? This place didn't seem to be where a great warrior would wish to serve, especially one who came from the North. Yan Liang, the mightiest northern warrior, advanced towards the gates; the black gelding riding strong. In his right hand was a short polearm, short enough to be considered a one-handed weapon. The beast of a man brought the horse to a halt once it got close to the guards, in a reaction the giant gelding reared up onto its back legs giving out a tremendous neigh; more of a screaching sound than anything natural for a horse. Quickly balancing himself the giant warrior smiled, the horse making an entrance for him. As the two came crashing down onto the ground Liang's voice bellowed from his mouth to the guards, growling each word. "Tell your lord the great Yan Liang is here!" The beast glared at the guards, hoping that they would move quicker than usual as wasting time was something Liang hated, also, it was a small inconvenience travelling from the North all the way to Chengdu...

The guards looked up at the large horse and trembled slightly, seeing the beast of a man and the horse at once. One nodded to the other and ran into the city seeking out its Lord.
In no time, the sounds of beating hooves could be heard from the other side of the gate. THe name of Yan Liang is known by many warriors and he was among the mighty warriors of the land. Easy to draw attention to. The guard had seeked out the Lord of Chengdu, just as Liang had asked, though it was not the man he was probably expecting.
As the gates opened, the neiging creature first to be seen was the monstrous Red Hare. It reared up, meeting the geldling face to face as it paced forward. The man atop the horse was just as known as the Red Hare. He was mostly known for his beautiful beard, also from his skills as a general and warrior. The tall man atop the horse was known as Guan Yu. The new lord of Chengdu.
"Yan Liang? It is a pleasure to meet you. What can I do for you?"

As the Red Hare appeared Liang looked in awe, the fine dark coat that glistened in the light almost a crimson red. It's strength was well known across the land and the rarety of owning one exceeded it's reputation. Though it wasn't a surprise for Guan Yu to be its master, his supposed strength annoyingly furthered his own and that beard, it was long...perhaps too long? Anyway, smiling at Guan Yu it was better for the beast to speak with him rather than that tiny man Liu Bei. "Your Lord invited me here, why else would I travel from the north?" Pulling the reigns of his horse Liang moved to a position beside Guan Yu so they could speak. "He wrote of some useless speech about peace.. You of all people would know that kind of chat does not gain the interest of Yan Liang." As the bellowing laugh left his mouth, Liang thought about the chances of him joining Shu. The strength of Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Yan Liang answering to his every whime, a dream for any Liege...all that was missing was his friend Wen Chou, then Liu Bei would have gained the strength of the gods. "Lead the way in, I do not wish to talk out here for a long time. I'm sure you don't either... Anyway, where is this Lord Liu?" With a grunt Liang prepared to enter the city, behind Yu of course, perhaps fighting along side Guan Yu would be beneficial... Imagining the fear on the enemies faces as they advanced onto them; too late for them to act before their head were theirs...

Guan looked at the man and nodded with a slight smirk. So brother Liu has contacted this man himself... He has an eye for talent. He naturally attracts people. I wonder how much I can play the part in him making this land better for the people. Guan thought to himself as he listened to Yan Liang.
"Of course. Let us proceed inside."
Guan tugged lightly on his reigns, signalling his great, new ally to turn around and head into the city. The magnificent horse complied and turned and began to trot towards the castle of Chengdu.
"My brother? He is taking care of business in Han Zhong. He has appointed me as the governor of Chengdu. I assume that you have more in mind than a mere visit mighty warrior of the north."

Heading further into the city, Liang listened to Yu speak of his brother.. So he was now a governor? What of his sworn-brother Fei? Nonetheless, the beast chuckled as Yu spoke of the intentions of being in Chengdu. "Well, the thought of myself fighting along side you and Zhang Fei was compelling. Fear wouldn't be the word to describe what the enemy would feel against us." Laughing at his own words, Liang looked around at the city. It was very different from the north, a good change perhaps and it wasn't as busy either... Crowds, they got in the way. "But you are right, I do not make 'visits' for no reason. I came here to see if your Lord has the strength to gain my power. In the north he has got a reputation for being soft and woman-like. Tell me Guan Yu, is this true?" In all truthfulness Liang had no desire to serve a man like that, he wanted one who would be as strong as Mt. Tao when it comes to war; the diplomatic side he could be as woman-like as he wished...that side of life Liang had no wishes to be involved with.

Guan chuckled as he heard Liang's comments on his brother. Though he chuckled, he was filled with a slight anger. He didn't appreciate insults towards his brother.
"Heh. Womanlike? I wouldn't believe so. Being the one to slay Hua Xiong without me or Zhang Fei's assistance he is more of a warrior than most would think he is. Unlike most generals who live for battle... Brother Liu is a more gentle individual. He fears not war, but would rather ask for the people's help without killing them."
Guan said as he continued to head towards the castle as he nodded to a few of the villagers.
"Do not worry. He is worthy of your service. I have been at his side ever since Zhang Fei and I swore our loyalty to him. He will advance on any who does wrong by the people... and as you know from traveling the land that there are more than enough men who do the people wrong."

So the rumours were wrong? Also partially true if he was a 'gentle' individual, though the appeal of being the defeater of Hua Xiong was very intriguing. "Guan Yu, I do not care for the other Lords or their ambitions. I fight for the Lord I swear loyalty to, I am a warrior not a thinker; so the talk of 'peace' and 'viture'.. To be honest, that stuff is wasted on me." Another bellowing laugh as he insulted himself on his stupidity and also lack of care about the peaceful goals of both Liu Bei and the other fuedal lords. "If you can show me that serving Lord Liu would benefit me, then his enemies have already lost; yourself, Xing Cai, Zhang Fei and myself.. No match for even the Heavens and while Jiang Wei helps with the behind-the-lines-stuff. A good combination he would have." Smiling it was more and more persuasive... And it was Guan Yu who was supposed to change his mind, but it was Liang himself! The beast spoke of benefiting himself, what did he truely want? Fights, battle and war, simple. But afterwards? Well, that was merely too far forward to think about but he did know with any Empire, there will always be warriors needed to thwart rebellions; which means Yan Liang would have an eternal place.

Guan laughed. His conversation with Yan Liang was different than he had thought it would be. It was actually enjoyable. He looked to Yan Liang as he asked what would benefit him.
"A benefit for you? You say that you are a man of war and that nothing else would make you feel better. We will have plenty of battle and men to slay along our paths and even after we help my brother achieve his goal. There are those who know of my brother's appeal to the people, and beliefs of the common man. In knowing that, they will also know that he is a threat to their 'dream' or 'ambition'... THey will want to get rid of him. In their want to kill him the heads you can take in his defense would be plentiful."
Guan said as he looked back ahead to the castle of Chengdu. He flicked his wrist slightly as the reigns moved so that to signal the Red Hare to move forward again. He didn't know if his words would appeal to Yan Liang, but even if they didn't, Guan would continue the conversation with the man.

Very convincing, looking at Guan Yu it brought a smile to his face; this would become interesting. "Your a very persuasive man Guan Yu." Liang's eyes then turned back to the castle of Chengdu, it was big and would need strength to protect; the polearm was his next destitation for his eyes. Perhaps Liu Bei was the man to serve? For no obvious reason the beast started to laugh, rising in volume with his voice booming out of his mouth. Quickly Liang's left fist punched Guan Yu's shoulder, putting a little bit of his strength into it to make him topple; more of a sign of playful banter than threatening. "Well then, you better inform Lord Liu than the great Yan Liang shall tear his enemies limb from limb. With you, Zhang Fei and myself on the field... His future has already been set!" Gripping the reigns again Liang looked at Yu, wondering what counter-attack he would use; he was a man that Liang could get used ot, also one who could give him an interesting challenge when sparring. Yan Liang serving in the south? Heh, if he located Wen Chou he would have to get him to serve Liu Bei; then all the strength of the land would be in his hands.

((Hope I'm not interrupting~))
It was early in the morning when Xifeng reached Cheng Du, accompanied only by One Elite Sword and Shield master as her guard. Of course, those who had ill will toward The Beautiful Devil would have a hard time defeating her on if she was by herself... For as time had proved, the woman was no pushover, one who could hold well in battle like any man. She was jsut starting to make a name for herself, though it was not flaunted like some might-Fanfare only belong before a battle, to rise the spirits of soldiers, she believed.
The dark-haired woman had come to this place on orders of her Lord, Yuan Shao, and while Goodwill mightof dictated that she come without armor, the woman couldn't bring herself to part with anything other than her knife and her army. So, it would be up to her diplomacy to the Kingdom of Shu on how well this went, along with the letter that had been written to Liu Bei. That letter was now safely tucked away on her person. Right, she could do this! Hopefully...
No, She had too. Starting a war because of her foolish pride would be idiotic.
'Easier said than done...'
The woman and her guard approaced the gate, and she pulled Syto to a halt, the mare snorting lightly under her as someone called out to her.
"You there! State your name and business!"
"I am Xifeng Yue of the Yuan Kingdom. I have come to speak to Lord Liu Bei on the behalf of Lord Yuan Shao about an Alliance!"
Show no fear. that's all she had to do, right?

Zhang Fei laughed as he walked out of the gates with his thumbs hooked onto his waistline. He smiled as he replied to her earlier comment.
"Brother Bei is in Han Zhong right now.You came all the way here for nothing,ha ha ha!"
Fei threw his head back and laughed cruelly. The Shu Guards also laughed along with the large general.

"Now that I've escorted Lord Jiang as father has instructed. I can assist lord Liu Bei.."
The son of Guan Yu, Guan Xing, rode up towards the gates of Chengdu. He was a boy of his father's image and tried his best to live up to his father's reputation, though he did not succeed too often. As he neared his home he noticed a small group of soldiers outside of the gate. He moved his horse around them, so not to draw attention from them.
As he nearly made it to the gate he heard the person ahead of the troops speak. It was a woman, seemingly from the Yuan kingdom. She had come here on peace? An interesting turn of events for Shu. Their neighbor wanted peace. Our lord would be proud to hear thi-- Xing was cut off in his thoughts as the rumbling voice of his uncle rung through the air... then the laughter.
"Oh no."
Xing rode up to Zhang Fei and the lady on his horse and dismounted before the horse could even come to a full stop. He walked up to Zhang Fei and looked from him and the lady. He sighed and turned towards the lady and bowed.
"I am Guan Xing of Shu. I apologize for whatever my uncle might have said. If you wish to speak to Lord Liu Bei then I shall go and retrieve him for you."
Xing spoke to the lady with a soft voice. Knowing that his uncle probably just offended the woman, from seeing the situation, Fei was laughing and the woman was not. So Xing thought of two things. Either Fei was drunk and made a joke that noone but him understood... or he had said something insulting towards the lady. Either way Xing turned his head to his uncle and then back to the lady, knowing not to say anything too rash to his uncle. He might have had the bravery of his father, but he also had the sense of his father, Zhang Fei was a strong man... one who only Guan Yu had the pure brute strength to keep under control and that Liu had the respect to keep in order with just words.

Shit hits the Fan The woman stiffened in her saddle, golden eyes narrowing dangrously as the laughter washed over her ears. Well, so much for that, right? She waited until the laughter had died down, the perfect moment to let her anger loose upon Zhang Fei. "Is this how you treat your messengers of peace? I expected better from Shu." Her tone was laced with dangerous wrath; As they say, after all, Hell Hath No Fury...
The elite on her left looked up at the Yuan officer nervously, resting one hand on the hilt of his sword. "Milady..." He cautioned, though it didn't seem like there was much one could do to pacify her. Xifeng was indeed fuming, far more that she was letting on. Hadn't she left Shu Jhi to escape from things like this? And the comments now weren't even really about her gender... It was for missing the Lord of Shu. The question was, how was she supposed to know such things as where the man was?
The Fuming woman barely heard the young lad until he was halfway through speaking, bringing her back from some of the red haze that was in her mind. Xifeng looked over at Guan Xing, a frown on her face, but replying to him anyway. "Apologies from another person, never work, young man. If it comes not from the sorce of the offender, the words have no meaning." She turned her molten glare back onto the bigger male. If looks could kill, then he would of been dead.
Then again, if he didn't apologize, he might up dead by her hand anyway, because she was sorely tempted to call him out for a duel here and now.

Liu Bei had received words that an envoy had been sent from the nearby area of Chang Sha, The Yuan Kingdom. This turn of events could be very interesting maybe for the best to his knowledge they had no other allies so it could be good in other words.
A few metres from the gates of Cheng Du he saw Zhang Fei laughing and Guan Xing there trying to help the situation he thought that it might have already turned ugly he took a quick detour towards the shops and got a bottle of water and made his way towards the group at the gates with many peasants and villagers looking on.
He heard of Guan Xings reply towards the warrior who was the envoy towards them. She seemingly wasn’t please with the current actions of both officers there. He said while only a few paces away ‘’Then how about an apology from me’’ He handed Zhang Fei his letter that contained his next objective.
He was right next to Fei when he would start to head to gather his troops ready for this mission he had been given. Looking at him then shifting his gaze towards the young lady before him ‘’Miss Xifeng, allow me to welcome you to Cheng Du. I do not wish for conflict would you like to continue this into the palace. Guan Xing follow me towards the palace.’’ He said at the man who was next to him.
