With that, Wei Yan was fed up with this "Horse Lord" and all his cinematics. The tired lordling had a pride problem that would only fuel his arrogant defeat. Lu Rai just sighed a bit as he walked out. This had not gone how he had hoped.
"Rai." came the commanding tone of Wei Yan as the two left the room. Rai just nodded as he walked up beside the warrior. "Go ahead of me to Chang An. This Ma Chao wants a war, so make the army ready. He'll have a war!"
With that, Lu Rai was off, nearly sprinting for his horse, from there he'd ride hard for Chang An. But Wei Yan wasn't worried about his companion making it back to their home, what he was focused on now was the new-comer, Zhou Tai. And with that change of target he made his way over to beside the Steward.
"I'd like to thank you, Master Zhou Tai. I had heard word of your honest nature and strong will, but this was more than enough to prove your strength to me. A man who walks into the lion's den and stands strong against the pride is a true warrior." spoke Yan as he patted the steward on the shoulder.
"Now, I know you wish to speak, and sadly it seems that war will hold off our speaking yet again. That being said, it is no secret that the armies of Xi Liang are much vaster than Chang An. If you truly think I can rule this land, then please, prepare your army and Wu and bring it to my aid in Chang An. As many as you can spare. I would not ask this unless I truly thought defeat was on the horizon. I can speak bold words until my lungs collapse and they can take my tongue, but with a vast army threatening my people, the people of Chang An, I will not be taken a fool by pride. I am in need, Master Tai. Dire need..."
And with that, Wei Yan moved ahead. He had to retrieve his clothes, weapons, and horse. Then he would be gone from this wretched city. Back to his of Chang An he'd ride.
Beautiful Chang An, what hell have I brought upon you?
